Susesi Luxury Resort

My wife and i stayed at the Susesi Luxury Resort in early September for 10 days and were not disappointed, we had a great time and were well looked after by some amazing staff - they are a major part of the resort and the enjoyment of guests. We arrived late on a Friday evening and shown to our room in this massive labyrinth but found our way around the following day, the place is huge and you can easily do 20 - 25k steps per day without leaving the resort. We stayed in room 3319 at the lakes, it was a fab location with easy access to the lake/pool area from your balcony & a few steps, sunbeds on the balcony and around the lake below. Room was a little dated with dark furnishings, huge and very comfortable bed, pillow menu, lounge area, separate bathroom, endless supply of bottled water, amenities and overall it was very spacious. The room was serviced each day including re-stock of minibar (minibar has 2 cans of beer some cans of soft drinks, endless bottled water but no spirits etc. and is quite small. Some small snacks are also provided 1 bag of doritos and 1 bag of twiglets & an occasional chocolate/wafer bar). Cleaning staff were excellent and the resort, every part of it was spotless clean and constantly being refreshed 24/7. Food was endless and we ate in every part of the resort that we were allowed to visit. Main Buffet Restaurant was excellent, so much choice and lovely well presented food - could not fault it, staff in the restaurant were excellent. Had breakfast at ADA restaurant/bar one morning - meze was lovely and the omelets were nice and cooked as required. Used both snack restaurants at the main Sandals bar food was good, lots of choice and again the staff were excellent. Visited 2 of the al a carte restaurants, Turkish Restaurant was excellent, nice meze to start with traditional puffy bread then Adani Kebab - so nice. Mexican restaurant - nachos to start then mixed fajitas - food was outstanding at both, staff were excellent. Visited the Patisserie - wow it was excellent. Nightly entertainment at the Amphitheatre & Pier was excellent, nightclub was excellent - really struggling to find any major faults I just think there are a few opportunities that would really push this resort to the top. ADA bar in the lake area closes at 17.00 in the afternoon, this is the only bar in the lake area and many people are enjoying the late sunshine but no drinks or snacks are available to them, think having this open until 19.00 would bring greater guest satisfaction. The patisserie - we didn't even know this place existed or if we were allowed to visit, this is a hidden gem so please make all guests aware of its existence and socialize the venue. I think the branded drinks available at all bars for all inclusive guests needs to be expanded. I drink gin and only Gordons or Beefeater were available for a Luxury resort I would expect Bombay Saphire, Tanquery and more and the same with Vodka, rum etc - this again would provide greater guest satisfaction. Edwards Bar (English pub) is just a vacuum with no atmosphere, create a fun space, karaoke bar or something like that to give it some life. Mor Bar - another vacuum, no atmosphere, dark, dingy, lack of various drinks and cocktails but great view, use this, make it a cocktail bar, have some music or something. Went to the on site paddle board lesson one morning, very disorganized no ownership from Susesi rep, this offering needs some support. Lastly a huge shout out to the staff once again, they make this place so special especially Kemal Ozkar who attended to us in the buffet restaurant and then fully looked after us in the Turkish and Mexican al a carte restaurants and Cagla in Sandals bar.

We recently stayed at the Susesi Luxury Resort as a group of ten—two families of four and one couple. Overall, the layout of the hotel is good, it has a quite business-focussed vibe with two major conferences taking place in our 10 days there, which was actually a bonus during the day as it meant the poolside was quiet. The flip side, though, is that the main buffet restaurant could get really busy at peak times.

Location The hotel is approx 2km from Belek, 5/6km from land of legends and 40 mins from Antalya airport. It is walkable to belek in half an hour or 3 or 4 mins in a taxi though they are not cheap at 10 euros for such a sort trip.

Rooms & Comfort The rooms were amazing and easily big enough for families. Our room was very large, featured a huge balcony, and bathroom and shower was excellent. The mini bar was well stocked with all drinks stocked daily and snacks included. Our biggest gripe, however, was the air conditioning. Whilst it was functioning, it was just poor. We frequently woke up in the morning to the bedroom sitting at 23 or 24 degrees, which isn't ideal when you're trying to get a comfortable night's sleep.

Pools & Activities The pools were very good, and having the ability to swim around all the rooms was something different. The water slides were good, if not outstanding. We also spent some time at the bowling alley and pool tables. These were good fun, but at €7 each, it felt pretty expensive considering we had paid for an ultra all-inclusive package.

Food & Drink Food was generally good, featuring the usual themed nights in the buffet. As a group, we tried two of the à la carte restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed the Mexican—which was a big hit with everyone—but the Asian restaurant just wasn't as good.

The bars were good with several types of proper bottled beers, as well as branded Coke, Sprite, and Fanta, rather than the draught drinks you often get at resorts. The sports bar was a let-down, though; it felt more like a TV room, and not a poor one at that.

Entertainment & Service With the kids in our group, we found the kids' club wasn't great, and the children's entertainment was okay at best. For the adults, the entertainment was good, sinilar travelling shows you see at all the other hotels in the region. We really felt there was a lack of alternative entertainment—it would have been brilliant to just sit in a bar with some live music or an acoustic singer in the evenings.

Finally, the staff were generally very good very attentive and polite. Their WhatsApp service was very good and made communicating and organising things or asking questions very easy.

Verdict A brilliant hotel with fantastic rooms, great pools, and excellent premium drinks, but the poor air conditioning, lack of varied evening entertainment, and pricey extras hold it back from being perfect.

I can honestly say this is the best hotel ever. From the staff, the food and drink to the hotel grounds and amenities. Would highly recommend
