Sherwood Dreams Resort

Hotel is very nice and clean, there is always people around attending to peoples needs, Sofa in the Gilbert bar is so hopeful and works very hard. We did have an incident and could not fault the management and security in how they dealt with it. They went over and above. The staff are all helpful and work so hard to keep things clean.

There were some positive aspects to the stay, but also some negatives.

Pros: Good location, right on the beach. Good kids’ club, which also offered childcare in the evenings. Water slides for children. One heated outdoor pool. Plenty of sun loungers. Staff were mostly friendly and hardworking.

Cons: The food was not of great quality and was quite repetitive. Even simple things like salad and yoghurt just didn’t taste very good. The air conditioning did not work properly and was centrally controlled. As soon as it started raining outside, the air conditioning was switched off, even though the room was still warm. I have never experienced this in a hotel before. Basic amenities, such as tissues and a “Do Not Disturb” sign, were not provided. However, they were delivered to the room upon request. An iron was not provided, and when I asked for one, I was told that I could not have one and would have to pay to have individual items ironed. I have never experienced this in a hotel before. Five-star hotels usually provide an iron in the room as standard. There was loud music until 1:30 a.m. on four out of the seven nights we stayed. We struggled to sleep and were then woken up in the morning by a crying baby in the next room. The soundproofing was not great.

Unfortunately, due to these issues, and mainly because the food was disappointing, I would not return to this hotel. I have stayed at Sherwood in Ho Chi Minh City a couple of times and am a returning customer there, but this stay was a little disappointing.
