- Ela Excellence Resort Belek

A one-of-a-kind holiday paradise nestled in Belek, Antalya's beautiful nature and the mesmerising blue of the Mediterranean. Antalya Airport is at 34 km away from the hotel. The resort has a beachfront location, it features a spa and a Turkish bath, and there is a mini golf, table tennis pool games and more.it offers nine restaurants with a variety of modern and traditional cuisines. The large number of restaurants, and bars at the hotel are true culinary delights, gathered traditions and flavours from around the world under one roof. Customers can delight themselves on the sun loungers next to the outdoor swimming pool area that includes five water slides and four water parks, or take refreshment in the pool bar. The hotel is the perfect place to enjoy family activities and hotel amenities with exotic views and exciting activities. It is the perfect choice for any vacation; the hotel boasts spectacular beaches, outstanding service, and thrilling activities.
The shower in the room was broken and the sink didn’t drain water properly however it got quickly fixed by the staff. The food choice is limited. The location is amazing tho, the hotel campus is massive with a lot of green spaces lots of pools and clean beach with a lot of space for hanging out. Since the hotel has a kids club there are a lot of toddlers around so it could be quite noisy, but it is a nice place to be with family.
Overall, our stay was okay, but I wouldn’t choose to return. 3.5
A special thank you to Umut from Guest Relations (I hope I got his name and department right), who was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. I’d also like to thank the servers at the Lake House pool, who were consistently friendly and attentive.
The good
What could be improved
We had to wait more than half an hour to check in and we arrived in the evening when rooms are ready. And there weren’t many people checking in.
Wi-Fi
The Wi-Fi signal was quite weak in many areas. After entering my phone number during the Wi-Fi registration, I started receiving constant spam calls, sometimes every hour. If you’re connecting, you can simply enter a dot instead of your phone number.
Food
The food was probably the biggest disappointment.
Only one restaurant is included in the all-inclusive package. The specialty restaurants all require a fairly high additional fee.
The Greek and Japanese restaurants are enjoyable mainly because of the entertainment, but the food itself is very similar to what is already available in the main restaurant. The Mexican restaurant doesn’t include any entertainment, although the main courses there were quite good.
The buffet selection changes very little from day to day. A large portion of it is dedicated to cheeses and olives, and after a few days it became repetitive. Turkish Night on Friday was the only evening that felt noticeably different.
Main restaurant
The outdoor seating has only a very small non-smoking section, and unfortunately it’s located between two large smoking areas, so it doesn’t make much difference. Also the floor is always full of little broken glass pieces.
On several mornings we had to wait quite a while for drinks because all of the staff were attending meetings until around 8:30 am. (Restaurant opens at 7) Once they were available, however, the waiters were friendly and hardworking, especially those serving the Lake House pool area.
Spa pedicure
I booked a pedicure without nail polish because I only wanted foot care. It quickly became obvious that they mainly focus on nail treatments, and very little attention was given to the actual feet beyond a brief scraping. If that’s the service offered, it would be clearer to simply list nail services rather than advertising it as a full pedicure.
Lost belongings
One day my beach bag disappeared from the loungers in front of our Lake House. Thankfully there was nothing valuable inside. I assumed perhaps housekeeping had moved it somewhere for safekeeping, but when I reported it, nobody seemed interested in investigating or asking around. Several umbrellas also disappeared from the loungers near our accommodation.
Housekeeping
Until I mentioned the issue, our room was rarely cleaned properly, and we had to ask several times just to have towels replaced. After raising the concern, housekeeping came every day, which is what I would normally expect from a five-star hotel.
Cleanliness around the pools
The pool areas themselves were enjoyable, but the flooring around the main pools often looked dirty. Some stains remained in exactly the same places throughout our entire stay, and I rarely saw staff cleaning those areas apart from emptying the rubbish bins.
Sustainability
The resort promotes its environmental efforts, particularly regarding towel reuse, but some practices seemed inconsistent. Small portions of fruit were served in large plastic containers, bottled water was used everywhere, and recycling bins were very difficult to find. Staff regularly cleaned up litter, but there was still a noticeable amount of single-use plastic around the resort. I’m certainly not an eco fanatic, but it felt at odds with the hotel’s sustainability message.
Final thoughts
Ela Excellence has excellent facilities for families, a beautiful beach, and genuinely kind staff. However, the inconsistent housekeeping, average food, weak Wi-Fi, and several service issues made it fall short of what I expect from a five-star resort in this price range. We still had a pleasant holiday, but there are other resorts I’d choose before returning.
The rooms were ok in terms of space, comfort and layout, you would have a maximum of about 3 in a room, if you have a rollaway bed. However we had two rooms, and we found ants in both of them which was a problem, and even worse, we were on the third floor! The bathroom was okay but a bit small, and the shower has glass rather than a curtain. The journey wasn’t too long from the airport, and there are some attractions nearby like Belek market and Land of Legends. The hotel was not very clean, because there was food on the floors and we had the ant problem. Nothing really stood out. The staff were generally good, but maybe could improve on being more upbeat and notice of people are waiting. It was general noise level was quiet but it was more loud at fun in the amphitheater and by the pool bar. The Anatolian restaurant was very good as it was open 24/7, and the staff there were happier than other places, like the buffet. The atmosphere was ok, but some parts of the hotel felt quite old fashioned. It is worth it, but maybe a little bit expensive. Our main problem was with the ants, because in one room we found over 20. There were also many flies on the food in the buffet which limited food options to a very small amount. There are very few sun beds available and when they are taken, they are taken for a whole day, even though most of them are never actually in use. The towels are very far away from the pools which is very inconvenient. The noise insulation is rubbish so you wake up at about 7-8am because of shouts from outside. There are also a lot of lizards and hedgehogs around, and we had the very unpleasant experience of seeing a lizard that was cut in half because of a rollerblader waiter who wasn’t looking. The do not disturb button by the door is very clever, but the problem is that it only works 60% of the time. The housekeeping isn’t great, because the bins were only cleaned out every 3 days. We also found blood on the bedsheets of a rollaway bed which delayed our sleep till 2am. We found the ants in our room at 8pm, and asked for 2 rollaway beds for our other room which had less ants, but we had to wait till 1am for the first one and past 2am and as of now we are not sure when our next one will come.
We had an excellent stay and a truly wonderful holiday. The cabana was amazing and made our experience even more special. There was a great variety of activities and things to do throughout the resort, so there was never a dull moment.
The customer service was outstanding, especially from Aleyna at reception and Mehmet our assistance. They demonstrated excellent customer service, listened carefully to our concerns, and resolved any issues quickly and professionally, making us feel genuinely valued as guests.
One thing that really stood out was the ratio of staff to guests. There were always plenty of staff available, and they regularly came to check if we needed more drinks or anything else. The service was attentive without ever feeling intrusive.
Overall, everything exceeded our expectations, and we had a fantastic time. We would definitely return and highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
Ants and poor air con
Currently here in room 4041 not the standard I expect for a lake house suite we have ants and poor Aircon and nobody seems to really be any rush to help you. I’ve even been to reception to try and swap to another room and pay extra for a swim up as struggling to get sun beds, especially in front of the area where I’m staying and no one seems interested. Let’s hope I get that room tomorrow because otherwise I have to consider leaving. It’s really not the standard. I Expect.
