Good Value, But Fell Short of Expectations

We recently returned from a week-long stay at Aydinbey Queens Spa Hotel in Belek, Antalya, and overall, it was a mixed experience.

When booking, the hotel looked very appealing. The photos online and on social media were beautiful, showing a clean, landscaped entrance and a spacious, welcoming exterior. However, the reality was quite different. On arrival, the front of the hotel was crowded with parked cars and lacked any real landscaping, giving it a slightly run-down and shabby appearance. The images used online are somewhat misleading, as they don’t reflect how the hotel actually looks in person.

The hotel itself was extremely busy during our stay. It felt overcrowded, particularly around the pool area, which is far too small for the number of guests. Sun loungers were packed tightly together—around 20–30 in very close proximity—and the sheer number of people made it feel quite overbearing. The whole atmosphere around the pool had a bit of a run-down “Benidorm” vibe, which wasn’t what we were expecting. We didn’t manage to use the pool once as there were never any beds available, and even if there had been, the lack of space would have made it uncomfortable.

One of the highlights of the stay was definitely the food. There was a wide variety of options available, and everything we tried was well-cooked and presented in a clean environment. This was easily the best aspect of the hotel.

The rooms were modern and reasonably well-maintained, which was a relief. After spending time in the busy communal areas, it was nice to return to a comfortable space. Housekeeping visited daily to tidy the room, although it didn’t feel like a thorough clean was done—floors were not mopped during our stay.

We also booked excursions through the hotel representative. I would strongly advise being cautious here, as prices seemed inconsistent and inflated, with a lot of room for haggling. It felt like costs were being made up on the spot.

The hotel staff were generally pleasant, but communication could be challenging as not many spoke English. The hotel seems to cater primarily to Russian and Turkish guests, and as British travellers, we did feel slightly out of place at times.

There is a shuttle service to the beach, which was adequate—nothing special, but it does the job.

I have seen reviews from people saying they would return here, but unfortunately it just doesn’t meet our standards.

Overall, while this was a relatively cheap holiday and you do get what you pay for, it’s not somewhere we would choose to return to. The overcrowding, misleading presentation online, and general upkeep of the exterior let it down, despite the good food and decent rooms.

Definitely Not a 5-Star Experience should be 2/3star

Stayed at Aydinbey Queen’s Palace & Spa on 09/07/2026, and unfortunately this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we’ve had.

The room was not clean when we arrived, and the air conditioning wasn’t working on our first day. To make matters worse, we found bed bugs, which is completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming to be 5-star.

The biggest concern was safety. The lifeguards finish work at 4:00 pm, and while we were there, a 5-year-old boy drowned and had to be resuscitated. I cannot understand why a family resort would have no lifeguards on duty so early in the evening.

The food was very poor. It was the same menu every day with very little variety, and there weren’t enough options to cater for different tastes or dietary needs. After a few days, it became repetitive and disappointing.

The management staff were also very unhelpful. They didn’t seem interested in listening to guests’ concerns and rarely even smiled. Communication was inconsistent too. We were initially offered a late checkout until 6:00 pm because of the issues we experienced, but on the day of departure we were told we had to leave the room by 3:00 pm. One member of staff says one thing, another says something completely different.

There were very few positives. The hotel is within walking distance of Land of Legends, which is convenient. Also, one of the lifeguards, Yorne, was excellent, and Amir, a young waiter in the restaurant, was friendly, polite, and very helpful throughout our stay.

Overall, I would not recommend staying here if you are expecting a genuine 5-star hotel experience. My room number was 5131, and based on my experience, I would not return.

A mixed bag!

Positives: The rooms were nice, and cleaners were good and helpful. And air con was good which is a must for that heat!

The atmosphere was nice for families plenty to do for kids staff at the kids club are lovely, pools are nice and clean and there’s no huge rush for sunbeds just I would put a towel out before 9/9:30 if you want a okay sunbed location.

Food and drinks were nice with plenty of bars and places to eat, a decent selection of food with various dishes every night.

Negatives:

Flooring by the pool is LETHAL! Kids grippy socks/ sea shoes are a must!

Staff were sometimes not the friendliest especially when asking for cocktails they don’t seem to be too keen on making them.

Not a 5 star hotel I would say more of a 4 but it’s not too bad for the price

(I get this isn’t a hotel issues) taxis to and from the hotel are very expensive even though it’s not that far away to towns nearby you just can’t walk them due to the roads

Hotel shop Is very expensive

Spa staff are very pushy coming up to you every day! When you’ve said no 4 or 5 times

Hotel reps for the excursions are nice however will charge you through the nose ( tried to charge us a couple €100 for pirate boat trip, I booked online through the website instead for €36)
