Where do I start with this hotel, we wondered why Jet 2 and Easy jet no longer used it, now I understand. From the standard of rooms to the food and even the other tourists it’s abysmal. Remember this is billed as a 5 star resort.

Accommodation We both found the accommodation dated in bad state of repair and not very clean, dated we can do, dirty we can’t. Bathroom was a dank dirty hole, the only light fitting falling out the ceiling, extractor fan not working and the shower door leaking all over the floor, black mould on lots of surfaces, so we asked to move, got another room in a different block, the light fitting was in place, but everything else was the same, it had a better outlook so we accepted it, overall not good.

Food We found the food awful. If you like the same menu three times a day, this is the place for you - you can have chips and onion rings and pizza at every meal if you want,. Yes it’s beautifully presented and it all looks good, but it’s not, I’m actually dying for a decent meal. Whole shelves of salad stuff, plates and plates of cheese, but if you look closely it’s two or three different types all spread out. It’s bland and tasteless, it’s barely warm, sometimes cold. Plates are always roasting - not good for cold food. No chefs present or show cooking, just tray after tray of the same stuff. We’re not, fussy eaters and usually love a buffet but we walked round and round the restaurant trying to,find something that looked appetising. Eating here is a necessity not a pleasure. The only place you get proper plates and cutlery is in the main restaurant - everywhere else is paper plates and plastic cutlery. Been a lot of all inclusive hotels, so I know what the standard usually is,but this is way below it.

The hotel markets 4 à la carte restaurants available to all guests. They do a set number of covers and you cant book - which means that unless you turn up at 6;30 no chance of eating there.

Drink I just drank effes beer it’s ok, wife likes her wine, but not here, not very nice, didn’t bother with cocktails there was no premium spirits at all, just the usual rot gut stuff, all served in you guessed it plastic throwaway glasses, only one bar served you in a glass, understandable if your on the beach,but everywhere else,nope,like the rest of this hotel,cheap as they can

Smoking is a major problem with loads smoking in food areas even with kids in thei company

Positives Staff are lovely, always try to help and mostly with a smile. No problem getting a sun bed, and communal areas were cleared and clean.

Worst holiday we have had in years,going home today and I can’t wait,will never be back in Turkey,it’s finished us for good, walked into BELEK one night for a meal, but couldn’t find anything worth eating at, rundown dismal place,won’t be back.

The hotel is okay overall, but unfortunately I wouldn’t return, mainly because of the food.

The choice is quite limited, and the biggest issue is that the food isn’t kept hot enough. Even dishes that could be decent are often cold or lukewarm, which really lets the dining experience down.

On the positive side, the sports facilities are good, with volleyball and tennis courts. The table tennis table is a bit damaged in places, but the water park slides are great and definitely one of the highlights.

The rooms are a little tired and could do with updating, although they’re perfectly adequate. Our room was huge, which was a bonus.

The staff are okay overall, and the barman at the Sunset Bar deserves a special mention as he’s been particularly good.

Overall, the hotel has some good facilities, but the food is a major letdown. It’s such an important part of an all-inclusive holiday, and unfortunately it’s the main reason I wouldn’t choose to return.

Beautiful territory, but terrible living conditions! Total disappointment instead of 5 stars. Rating: 1/5 ⭐ We checked into Asteria Family Resort Belek 5/HV1* on October 20, 2026, as a family (two adults and two children aged 8 and 3), room 6230. We still have 10 days of vacation ahead, but our first impression is completely ruined. The hotel absolutely fails to meet the declared 5-star standard and the positive reviews online. Credit where credit is due — the hotel grounds are truly beautiful and there is good entertainment for children, but the living conditions in the rooms are an absolute nightmare. Main issues with the room:

1. General condition and furniture:

The furniture is very old and worn out. Cracks and damaged finishes are visible on the walls. Soundproofing is terrible — you can hear absolutely everything happening behind the walls and in the hallway. Towels look unappealing, worn out, and overwashed. 2. Sleeping arrangements and hygiene: The bed linen on the child’s bed had a strong, persistent smell of cigarette smoke. The sofa in the room is completely unfit for sleeping — it is broken, worn down, and highly uncomfortable. It is impossible for a family with two children to get a proper rest in these conditions. 3. Plumbing and appliances: All faucets and fixtures in the shower cabin are leaking and literally falling out of the walls. Traces of old dirt, limescale, and sloppy silicone repairs are visible along the tile joints and near the fixtures. The shower hose has traces of rust and build-up. The toilet functions terribly and barely flushes. The hairdryer in the bathroom works with constant interruptions. The bath amenities are unusable because the dispensers simply do not work. Management response: We immediately contacted the reception asking to resolve these issues, but the problems were not fixed — the staff simply shrugged their shoulders. Summary: The equipment, service, and condition of the rooms do not correspond to the status of a 5-star family hotel at all. We do not recommend this hotel for families with children!
