Beldibi

Situated just a fifteen-minute drive from the popular seaside resort of Kemer and less than an hour outside of bustling Antalya, this modern resort hotel is backed by the pine-shrouded Taurus Mountains and the turquoise blue of the Mediterranean Sea. The beach is only a short stroll away, and the hotel offers a wide range of facilities and services for a spectacular holiday experience. Guests might dine on Turkish or international cuisines in the restaurant, relax in the spa complete with fitness centre, Turkish bath, two saunas and a steam bath, or simply lounge in the sun by one of two expansive outdoor pools with a drink from the pool bar while children play on the water slides. The games room offers bowling, billiards and table tennis in addition to video games, and the hotel features its own entertainment programme for children and adults.

We had a wonderful experience at Grand Ring Hotel! The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful, especially the reception team, who always made us feel welcome. The food was absolutely delicious, with plenty of great choices. We also really enjoyed the activities, and the sea was beautiful. Everything made our stay relaxing and memorable. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to return!

Mostly good experience

Grand Ring Hotel Review

My partner and I stayed at the Grand Ring Hotel for a week for our two year anniversary.

Pros, Overall we had a wonderful time; we really enjoyed the sun, the multiple pools to choose from and the entertainment. The hotel is at a great, spectacular location in front of a mountain range between the town of Kemer and a 30 min drive away from Antalya. My breath was taken away looking at the views behind the hotel! The staff were attentive and mostly very welcoming - we were impressed by housekeeping and staff that came around to keep the poolside clean during the day. The food was usually nice although sometimes lukewarm/cold but that’s to be expected at an all inclusive. You can utilise the microwave in the case of this which is good.

Cons, This isn’t something that can really be helped by the hotel but the most disappointing thing we found was that a lot of the people staying at the hotel had really poor manners; barging past us in line for food, hogging sun loungers with towels for hours and hours before they actually arrive. It’s a shame this was our experience but again, not much that can be done about that. As English tourists, we also noted there were little to no other English tourists staying at the hotel which was slightly isolating. Again, this is likely due to us not going during English summer holidays, so can’t be helped massively, just a note really to other British/English tourists. Unfortunately, on our last day myself and my partner came down with something flu like: high fever, chills, pounding head ache. Whether this was something we’d caught from other guests or perhaps the pool water, we’re not sure. This meant we couldn’t enjoy our last day very much so we decided to stay in our rooms. I find it frustrating that we were not allowed to take small plates of food during dinner period back to our rooms, as we were only doing this because we felt incredibly poorly and did not want to sit nearby other people and get anybody sick. I did ask a staff member to which I was told no. After dinner in the evening, we became increasingly more unwell and I visited reception and asked the staff member behind the desk where we could find medicine within the hotel as there was a doctor mentioned. I explained that my partner and myself were very unwell and had an early transfer the next morning to the airport. He shrugged and told me it’s not open, no medicine. I again explained how ill we were both feeling and that we needed paracetamol from somewhere even if it was another pharmacy and he just sort of stared back at me blankly so I had to give up and try and sleep off the fever. I understand if the doctor is gone and everything’s shut, there’s nothing you can do about that, but I was disappointed at the lack of advice or even directions to the nearest pharmacy.

We mostly really enjoyed our stay though, it’s just a shame there wasn’t a whole lot of compromise or compassion from the staff members on our last day before leaving when we were unwell.

Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Would probably visit again

A frightening and intimidating experience as a solo female traveller

★☆☆☆☆ – A frightening and intimidating experience as a solo female traveller

I travelled to Turkey on my own, expecting a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Instead, one incident completely overshadowed my stay and left me feeling frightened, intimidated and vulnerable.

During my stay, I invited a guest to my room. Shortly afterwards, I was confronted by members of staff and told that what I had done was “illegal” under Turkish law. I was informed that I would have to leave the hotel, and the situation quickly escalated. As a woman travelling alone in a foreign country, being told I had broken the law was extremely frightening. I didn’t know whether I was genuinely in legal trouble or what might happen next.

I was then told I had to pay €100, after which I was informed I could remain at the hotel. The messages I received were inconsistent and confusing, which only added to my fear and distress.

Since returning home, I have learned that Turkish law requires hotels to register guests staying at the property, but that hotels set their own visitor policies. If Grand Ring Hotel has a policy restricting visitors, I fully respect its right to enforce that policy. However, I do not believe it was appropriate to present it as a matter of criminal law rather than a hotel rule. Being told I had done something “illegal” caused unnecessary panic and influenced my decision to pay the €100.

What made the experience even more upsetting was that my guest later told me he overheard members of staff saying they were going to beat him when they asked him to follow them to reception. Whether this was intended as a serious threat or not, hearing this afterwards made me feel even more unsafe. As someone travelling alone, it left me questioning whether I was in a secure environment.

The most disappointing part was not that the hotel had a visitor policy, but the way it was enforced. At no point did I feel that staff tried to de-escalate the situation or explain the policy calmly and respectfully. Instead, I felt intimidated, embarrassed and powerless. I spent the rest of my holiday feeling anxious rather than relaxed.

I have submitted a formal complaint to the hotel requesting a refund of the €100 charge and asking for an investigation into the conduct of the staff involved. I sincerely hope management reviews how situations like this are handled in future so that no other guest—especially someone travelling alone—has to go through such a distressing experience.
