This was our fourth visit to this hotel, which says a lot about how much we've enjoyed staying here in the past. We've always had a fantastic experience, so it's disappointing to say that this visit didn't live up to the high standards we'd come to expect.
One of the biggest disappointments was the changes to the all-inclusive package. The drinks menu has become very limited, but this isn't something you can check before booking as it's only available after you're given a login at check-in. Had we known about these changes in advance, we may have considered other options.
Another change was the removal of lunch service at the pool bar. If you're spending the day by the pool, you now have to dry off and get changed to eat in the main restaurant, unless you're willing to pay extra for food by the pool. This takes away some of the convenience that made previous stays so enjoyable.
The location has never been the hotel's strongest point, but in the past the excellent facilities and all-inclusive experience more than made up for it. Unfortunately, with the recent changes, we no longer feel it offers the same value.
That said, there are still many positives. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are spacious, modern and spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the pools are excellent. The children's pool is particularly well designed and is perfect for younger children.
It's a real shame, as this has been one of our favourite hotels for years. We hope the management listens to guest feedback and reconsiders some of these changes, as we'd love to return in the future.
Pretty average holiday. Not sure this is a 5 star hotel. Before coming, I read the pool opened at 10 and closed at 6. I also heard the hotel staff do not allow you to put towels down to reserve sun loungers so this gave me peace of mind as I hate the hassle of people fighting over sun loungers first thing in the morning. Turns out - there is no pool opening times. People were in as early as 8am and out as late as 8pm. Sun loungers were indeed being reserved and the staff did nothing about this. My daughter had sun stroke and there were no sun loungers or umbrellas to be seen and they wouldn’t help with this - told us to pay for a Balinese bed instead! Kids entertainment was the same everyday so got a bit boring. Location is ok if you don’t want to do too much as really there isn’t much to do locally, need to travel 15/20 minutes by car to get to more exciting places.
One of the best, if not THE best family hotels we have ever stayed in. (4th stay in Tenerife)
We had a premier room and it was massive for a family of three. They have thought so much about how to help families, from black out blinds to having Ceebeebees on TV.
The activity teams were fantastic, putting on so much events for the kids - the foam party at the pool was great. My daughter had so much fun.
We were looking up going back before we had left.
If I was to say one thing we wished it had - crepes for breakfast!
Highly recommend going to the Roca negra for the sunset show!
Disappointed with our stay here. Definitely not a Jet 2 Luxe hotel. Stayed for a week all inclusive with my daughter. Room not ready when we arrived, as expected as we arrived early. Said they would ring when it was ready. They didn’t. Went back to reception at 5pm to find it was ready and our bags were still sitting in reception. No welcome drink on arriving to hotel, not even a glass of water. A couple of days in, the hotel made changes so at lunch time all drinks are now self serve. I don’t like this for a luxe hotel. I felt like we were up and down for food and then for drinks. Doesn’t help that the water station is one end of the restaurant and soft drinks the other end. Didn’t feel we got to sit down as a family at lunch time as we were up and down. Reported to the hotel but they weren’t bothered with the feedback. Wouldn’t be happy if I was half board and paying for drinks I had to get myself. Some other guests weren’t happy either! All inclusive drinks menu is a little limited. Kids ice cream as part of all inclusive is between 3 & 6pm only. Expected this to be for longer for an all inclusive. Feel the pool area is limited for kids, unless you go to the water park area, which is really only for little kids. Can’t play with balls in some of the pools. Feel like they don’t want to cater for kids. Slow to tidy the sun beds after people left the pool. All inclusive buffet for lunch & evening meal did get boring and very same old. No themed nights offered. In the end we ate out a couple of times for some decent food. Bar area in the evening was lovely and relaxed. Staff were friendly here. Rooms are very good and spacious. Cleaners do a good job as well. Overall a mixed holiday and the hotel needs to improve if they want to be a “luxe” hotel. I’ve been to much better.
Location not good and the hours of opening pool area
