Tigotan Lovers and Friends Playa las Americas

We really enjoyed our stay at the tigatan, firstly the staff are so nice and friendly, the reception staff, the room cleaner, especially the singing chef who sings away while making omelette in the morning and carving meats at dinner, he was very entertaining and funny. Our cleaner kept our room immaculate, particularly enjoyed the powerful rain shower.the pool area is lovely with comfy posh sun beds, different entertainment going on all day, the pool snack bar was also very nice, you order and pay for your food, they deliver it straight to your sunbed.😊, the food in the restaurant was nice with a wide variety of offer. However my favourite part of the hotel has to be the beautiful roof top bar, beautiful sunsets every night with delicious cocktails,🍹🍸🌞 and nice chilled music,and views.

First let me say, I love this hotel, and if it was your first visit, you would probably be really pleased but this was our 5th Visit, but this year despite the various improvements that we can see have been going on, it just didn't hit the mark on a few fronts and we have left wondering if we will return next year.

On check in, the girl was efficient, if not very warming. As you check in you are usually offered a welcome glass of cold fizz, which is appreciated however we had keys in hand and it was only when we mentioned it was missing this year, we were offered it. We are a party of 3 and usually we have one of the end rooms with 2 beds and a sofa bed pull out, so very spacious and always appreciated. We have only once had a pool view, but we didn't mind however this year we were all put in a double room with a single bed shoved in the corner beside the balcony, so streaming with light in the morning, despite booking a 'triple' room. This room itself was overlooking Yolo, eyelevel and right above the patio area of the hotel. We did complain and they managed to give us a more private balcony on the other side, but again still a double room with an additional single bed shoved in the corner. We made it work, but it was disappointing compared to what we usually have. Also the 2 rooms we got, were the first ones from the lifts, so usually the nosiest part of the corridor, so I wasn't too happy about that either, but thankfully the noise level was ok.

Its great that you have maid service every day, however issues this year from no toilet paper being replaced, only replacing 2 clean towels when it was a 3 person room, to one day no towels left at all after taking all the dirty ones away. Sorry but they money you pay I am not going out and buying my own toilet roll!

Missed Debbie this year on the entertainment team, and as much as the current team are very nice, they don't really engage & really encourage you to take part.

We did voice our opinions when the general manager came round one evening during dinner service, and we did cheekily say a free cocktail on the roof terrace would go along way to repair relations..... we are still waiting...

Then when we were advised we could only get a late checkout to 2pm, it was the last straw. I asked if this is because we booked via Jet2 and not directly with the hotel as we were having so many issues this year. They however did manage to give us the room to 5pm when we asked the next day, which we thanked them for.

Most of the reception staff are lovely and very helpful, others not so much. This stay has left a sour taste in our mouth this year, and the general chat around the pool with returning guests was the same, not sure they will return, as we have got to know a few people who return the same time every year like us, so this is not just ourselves that felt the place was just not hitting the mark this time round.

There was a few other niggles this year, but as I say, if this is your first stay, I have no doubt you will love it, but something felt off this year, and for the price you pay, I expected more. Perhaps its all to push you to book direct as opposed via a 3rd party (we usually do Jet 2) I don't know. Might be time for us to try elsewhere next year.

Highly recommend the Tigotan Hotel - the staff make this hotel - its our home from home and looking forward to seeing you all on November 21st for the upteen time !!!! - on our last visit - what can we say only don't hesitate to book here if you are looking to be well looked after ! from the warmest of welcomes from Georgia and Giulia - Pablo in the Executive desk . To our designated room on the 5th floor they go out of their way to accomodate us . We go half board exclusive . From the diningroom lovely efficient staff Lorena , Lucille , Moustafa , Janko they make your diningroom experience memorable . The chefs - Brahim , Adul and David - ye work so hard keeping us all happy with great food consistently good every morning and evening . Thank you all . On the executive lounge and pool bar the lovely bubbly Georgia , Flavin and Janko who works in the diningroom as well . Also like to mention Lena though I believe she is left but hopefully not - a great member of the Tigotan group looking after us all in the execlusive . Like to mention to a new member of staff Jasmine in the Guest Relations who I was talking to recently to add on an extra night , very friendly phone manner and looking forward to meeting you in November . Thanks to Andrew also in Central Reservations for his friendliness . Looking forward to seeing ye all on Saturday November the 21 st .
