This beach hotel is conveniently situated on the stunning island of Tenerife. Just 200 metres away guests will find the sprawling, pristine golden sands of the beach. Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

very dated hotel rooms. the common areas were lovely. only. one socket in the whole room and wasn't even close by the beds. mold on the roof in first room so we got a new one which still had mold but not as bad. the air con smelt disgusting, we didn't have it on for long if we could help it. our housekeeper was lovely. always said good morning. lifts were super slow. and the balcony doors did not feel secure.
the food was good. but I'm easily pleased. wouldn't be good for picky people.
a bit more clarity on what's included for all inclusive would be good. it's a bit vague, can't even get juice or coffee after 11pm..
My family experience in this hotel
My family and I — six people — stayed on the hotel for five days and four nights and overall we enjoyed quite a bit. We’ve separated things we liked and didn’t. There was a big diversity of activities for kids and even for adults, specifically at night, there was magic shows, music, etc. The hotel had a great location and a amazing view of the sea with one beach in each side, besides having restaurants and stores for turists. Three — one for kids — big pools with a small amouth of sun loungers for the whole guests. Great management with the bar and for the meals, there was a big variety of food — specifically in the dinner. All the staff and employees were very nice, friendly and available to help us. The decoration of the hotel was very nice, although in the bedrooms it was more of an old room with only two power outlets per room, — one was occupied with the TV — and they weren’t even beside the beds, which did quite upset us. The wifi didn’t work at all in the bedrooms, it worked nicely around the hotel, but did work better in the gaming room, — which was very nice and comfortable to be there. Once we where in the bathrooms from our bedrooms, we could hear everything from the others bathrooms, besides the toilet and bidet were kinda loosed — weren’t glued correctly — and every time we barely touched it, it shook — in room 363/361. One of our bathrooms had a “loosed” ceiling, so basically falling — in room 361 . In my room, our hair dryer didn’t even worked, but we were lucky we brought one — in room 363. And finally, outside there was a lot of big cockroaches, — specifically near the stage — and some even trying to get in the hotel itself, I recommend deacidification.

Sol Tenerife – 1 Week Stay August
The location is good and the food was okay, but unfortunately the hotel feels very dated and is in need of refurbishment. Our room had a leaking fridge, a shower coming away from the wall, broken furniture and a toilet that needed repeated flushing to get it to work. The air conditioning was basically just a fan, and we had to leave the door open as it was cooler outside. Also only 1 plug socket
There are only around 50 sun loungers for over 500 rooms, the evening entertainment lasted around 2 hours. There is no gym. Noise from the nearby bars continued until around 6am, making it very difficult to sleep.
Overall, the hotel has a good location but needs significant investment and updating
Not for me and my family
I stayed at the Sol Tenerife from 21st to 28th August, and this is my honest review of my experience.
Pools
The hotel has two pools, one on the ground floor and one on the upper floor. Unfortunately, neither pool opens until 10:00 am. If you have young children like I did, there's really nothing for them to do until then.
There are lifeguards at both pools, but they don't enforce the same rules. At the upper pool, if your towel is left on a sunbed for more than 30 minutes, it gets removed. On the ground floor, the lifeguard doesn't seem to remove towels, so the rule isn't applied consistently.
The biggest issue is that there are nowhere near enough sunbeds for the number of guests staying at the hotel.
Kids' Club
The hotel advertises a children's club, but it's misleading. I expected an all-day club or at least morning and afternoon sessions. Instead, it's only three one-hour sessions at 11:30 am, 3:30 pm, and 8:30 pm. If you're booking because you think there's a full kids' club, be aware that isn't the case.
Bar
One thing I really didn't like was that all drinks are served in cardboard cups instead of glasses. If you don't return your cardboard cup, you're charged €1 for another one, and it has to be paid by card. It felt unnecessary and made the experience feel quite impersonal.
Noise
The hotel has two accommodation blocks, A Block and B Block. If you're put in B Block, be prepared for a lot of noise. It's extremely noisy until 4 or 5 am, so getting a good night's sleep can be difficult.
Snack Bar
The snack bar was disappointing. There's very little choice, the burgers are like rubber, and for children it's mainly chicken nuggets and chips. You also have to remember to bring your cardboard cup with you, or you'll have to pay for another one.
Main Restaurant
The food in the main restaurant is very basic. There are usually only two or three main dishes available, and overall the choice is quite limited.
Rooms
The rooms are very basic. There are only two plug sockets in the whole room. There's a kettle, but you have to provide your own tea, coffee, milk, and sugar.
Smoking Areas
There are only three designated smoking areas on the ground floor—one by the kids' club, one by the snack bar, and another further along—so you can't smoke anywhere else.
Would I Stay Again?
No.
For me, the hotel wasn't relaxing. It felt very impersonal, and there were too many little frustrations that added up over the week.
I've previously stayed at another Meliá hotel in Costa Adeje, and that experience was 100% better. Compared with that hotel, Sol Tenerife was a real disappointment.
Not for children or families - very poor for a Melia Hotel
I stayed at the Sol Tenerife from 21st to 28th August, and this is my honest review of my experience.
Check-in
Unfortunately, our first impression wasn't great. The reception staff weren't very welcoming or inviting, and they all seemed as though helping guests was too much trouble. Whenever we needed assistance, it felt like we were inconveniencing them rather than being looked after.
