Ole Tropical Tenerife

I think this hotel is more like a 3* rather than a 4* hotel. Plastic chairs and uncomfortable sunloungers. They do have double loungers with padded cushions but the hotel charge for this... if you are All Inclusive they charge between 21-26 Euros but if you are Bed & Breakfast they charge you between 41-46 Euros which I think is extortionate - mostly for the fact that the some clientel around the pool area were very rowdy and all making the most of the All Inclusive drinks as much as possible. There is a smoking section by the pool. The cleaners are the stars in this hotel as they cleaned our room every day and we had clean towels and sheets every day so thank you. Staff at Reception were friendly and organised a few taxis for us so thank you. The Breakfast room was clean and tidy. The food was sufficient but greasy and the juices were awful. I would return to Tenerife just not this hotel as would prefer to be located in the Playa Del Duque Beach area, as this hotel was located on a very noisy roundabout between Playa de las Americas and Costa Adeje. Very close to Veronicas if this is somewhere you want to be.

While we did have a good holiday staying at Ole Tropical our review is mixed.

The positives are the helpful friendly staff. These include Pawal at the pool bar with his professionalism alongside a wicked sense of humour. And the enthusiastic Eric, the filipino viking member of the entertainment team. There was a good mix of ages at Ole whereas some adults only venues are dominated by older clientele. Our pool view room was a great choice as the balcony enjoyed the sun into the evening. Sun beds are plentiful and we never failed to find a good spot without an early morning dash. The pool is large and enjoyable. All the guests we encountered seemed to have a good time here.

Evening entertainment was mixed in quality. To be frank some of it was poor but there was also some talented singers/entertainers. The best night was the karaoke night with some fantastic guest performances. None better than big Kieran’s version of Carrie Underwoods Before He Cheats. Daytime entertainment was the usual mix of games and music. Best of the bunch being Mondays foam party and inflatable pool slide.

Downsides include location. Why others talk this up is difficult to understand. The golden mile is 20 minutes walk away over a hill. The strip is closer at 10 minutes but to be honest only the bravest should venture there. The nearest good beach is at Los Cristianos either a bus ride or 35 minutes walk away.

Las Américas golden mile, Los Cristianos, Costa Adeje and Puerto Colon are well worth a visit.

Food wasn’t particularly great but we were always well fed.

A big downside for us was the noise outside our room. Being across from the lift the sound of cases departing early in the morning or arriving late into the night definitely effected sleep quality. Worst of all, each night we returned to our room to various bugs. We reported these the first few nights. I trust the hotel did something about it but the issue was there each night of our stay. By the middle of our holiday neutralising a few bugs each night seemed easier than moving rooms we trust would have been on offer. The room itself was large, clean and comfortable. aside from nightly bug visitations.and the noises of the lift and vehicles reversing in the hotel area.

In summary a good holiday can be had here but we wouldn't think of returning. We came across a lot of quality hotels far better situated than this and hopefully without the bug issue.

Ps anyone staying here should lookout for the 3 cheeky monkeys sitting outside the dining room.

Great location and lovely hotel

We recently stayed at the Ole Tropical Hotel in Tenerife and had a really enjoyable holiday.

The location is excellent, especially if you want to be close to the nightlife. It’s not far from the Veronicas strip, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. One thing to be aware of is that we were offered drugs several times while walking around the area, so just be sensible and careful, particularly around the nightlife. It’s also within walking distance of Costa Adeje, which was great for exploring.

The atmosphere at the hotel was really friendly and relaxed. Most people seemed to be staying all-inclusive, while we were half-board, but this didn't make any difference to our experience. Everyone was friendly and there was a nice holiday atmosphere.

We had a garden room, which was lovely. It was comfortable, clean and having the garden area was a real bonus. Food exceptional.

The cleanliness deserves a special mention. The cleaners were absolutely top notch and seemed to be constantly working! Everywhere was kept lovely and clean, and our room was cleaned regularly to a very good standard.

We found the noise levels perfectly acceptable considering the hotel's location near the nightlife. You can expect some noise, especially later in the evening, but it certainly didn't spoil our stay.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and we had no problems with the service during our stay.

The hotel facilities were good and the pool and communal areas were well maintained. Everything we needed for a relaxing holiday was there.

Overall, we thought the hotel was good value for money. We really enjoyed our stay, loved the location and were particularly impressed with the cleanliness and friendly atmosphere.

We would happily stay at the Ole Tropical again. 🌴☀️
