Playa de Las Americas

This luxurious apartment hotel is located in the south of Tenerife, between Los Cristianos and Playa de Las Americas. It has fantastic views of the Golf Course and Atlantic Ocean. Guests will have the opportunity to rest in the outdoor pool area sunbathing, relaxing under the shadow of an umbrella or having a refreshing swim. The rooms decorated with bright and soothing colours are equipped with all the needed amenities for a comfortable and memorable stay.

Another amazing stay after being here last year. The food has improved, even though I was happy with it last year too. Children's entertainment was a bit limited while we were there unlike last year but my daughter still had a great time. Staff, amazing! Food, amazing! Rooms are great and cleaned everyday. Bit of bad guest behaviour this year which made us a bit uncomfortable at times but that's not the hotels fault.

Great for younger families but not much to do for teenagers

Staff 4.5/5. All great and a credit to the company especially the friendly bar staff who were always happy to serve you.

Negative Waiting staff were always in a rush and I don't think one stopped for a chat during the 7 days I was there.

Resort 3.5/5

To be honest it's a very compact place . There are three pools and a splash park. All are very busy but loungers are usually still available around 9am.You get the usual people who get up at 6/7am and leave towels on the front row but there was plenty of spare loungers left.

The pool Was always busy with balls flying about in the biggest pool and loads of lilos all over the pools. The pools had no atmosphere due to a managers ruling that no music is to be played. They did have inflatables for the kids daily and also had a foam party with a live dj which got the place rocking.

Entertainment at night was pretty good but everything ended at 1030pm with no background music. The Brazilian dancers and the Magic show were great.

Negative Karaoke for only 45 minutes as evening entertainment is awful at least do it for over an hour.

Food 3.5/5

Overall food was ok with the best Sausages for breakfast ever had at an All Inclusive.Every day evening meal was a different cuisine and was ok but when it was busy it was a bit chaotic with queues and the chefs under pressure to cook the steak, chicken etc The salad was varied and always topped up. Drinks are all self serve which is good and full bottles of Cava .Overall the food was good enough and plentiful.

Negative The big negative was not for the food but the amount of birds that were inside where the food was. The restaurant had open windows so it was a free flight in to nibble all the crumbs left. To the owners I have been to a hotel that had the same problem and got a. Bird of prey expert to come down and let his bird fly about to move the small birds and pigeons on.It will only take one of these birds to be diseased and you will be up in court.

Rooms 4.5/5

We had a 2 bedroom Suite which was a good size with a double and a twin bed along with 2 sofa beds in the front room. It also had a full kitchen and a 55 inch TV with netflix, prime all loaded on.The cleaners were great and rooms were made up everyday to a great standard. Room 207 only one set of stairs. If you have one of the rooms at the back of the resort it will be a very steep 100 steps. No Negatives for our rooms which had WIFI.

There is a Spa but is €20 for one visit it looked lovely but didn't seem to have many people use it. In my opinion I would Make it another bar with music when the other 2 shut

There is a pay arcade with 4 pool tables a basket ball game and a few other games. There is a table tennis table which is free and that's about it apart from water polo, darts, curling and aqua aerobics.

Overall I wouldn't come back as I feel they want younger families I would stay here if I was playing golf as there is Las Americas Golf club nextdoor.

Tips Rooms ask for a lower level room if you struggle to walk up steps. Room 207 would be comfortable for 5

Food go as early as you can to avoid the queues 8.309 for breakfast 6307 for dinner lunch was always ok Snack bar food is decent

Catamaran trip Do the early on from Monte Cristo Catamaran for dolphin and whale watching €59 for tapas all drinks and pick ups and the best boat. We went on the 930 sailing and practically had the boat to ourselves and was so relaxing not being on the usual cattle class boats.

Take your tales when you go to breakfast for a sun lounger

Don't buy the cookies from the vending machine as they get stuck

Get a taxi early to SIam Park if you want to get on most of the rides The free bus is too late and you have to wait 45 minutes for each ride

Lovely place to stay

Beautiful grounds, well looked after. Friendly staff.

Plenty of pool space, and kids slides in the kids pool right at the top- away from the rest of the pools.

Not much close by but reception helpful in calling taxi and beaches, shopping centre etc close by via taxi.

Tea and coffee machine gets busy at breakfast and sun loungers all have towels laid out by other guests by 8am which is not the hotels fault.

On site shop although it closes quite early.

Will definitely be back.

Good but could have been better

Although in general for a 4* hotel this resort was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Although a few things I found negative. Food choices were very limited. (Tinned fruit? 1 Yoghurt? ) Wine on AI was not drinkable 🤢 1 set of pool towels given replacements were chargeable. Considering there are 4 pools available I felt at least 1should have been a quiet pool without inflatables and games. Location. Be aware this resort is away from town shops bars it’s a taxi ride away. Unfortunately evening entertainment for little ones starts at 8pm which is too Late for toddlers. Rooms: we were sold the holiday under the illusion it was a 2 bed apartment but there was no 2nd bedroom it was a bed in the lounge area. All this said…We had a good week especially loved the toddler pool and oasis pool.

Great Rooms, but Communication and Facilities Fall Short of 4 Star

We recently stayed at this hotel for a 14-night family holiday and came away with mixed feelings. While there are some clear strengths, several operational and service issues impacted our overall experience.

Starting with the positives, the accommodation itself was a highlight. We stayed in a spacious two-bedroom apartment, which was well-equipped with air conditioning and TVs, making it comfortable for a longer stay. The availability of a clothes rack was also a practical touch. For those considering self-catering, the apartment setup works particularly well, and the solarium area is especially useful.

Teen-focused activities were a welcome inclusion and helped keep older children engaged during the stay. Additionally, we appreciated the gesture of providing a ham and cheese sandwich for late arrivals, although this does not fully compensate for the missed dinner, especially given the cost of €36 per person.

Unfortunately, several issues detracted from the experience. Despite paying for a late checkout, our room key cards stopped working at the standard checkout time, and we were not informed that they needed to be reactivated. This resulted in unnecessary inconvenience and required a complaint to resolve. Hot water availability was inconsistent, particularly on cloudy days, which was frustrating. We also experienced electrical issues, with hairdryers repeatedly tripping the apartment’s power.

Facilities and amenities were another area of concern. Water dispensers were completely turned off, and there were no safes in the rooms, which felt like a notable omission. The restaurant struggled to accommodate the number of guests, often feeling overcrowded, and hygiene standard were questionable, with birds entering the dining area — we even witnessed one eating bread inside the restaurant. Additionally, the toilets near the snack bar were closed, not ideal for young children.

For families with younger children, the lack of a kids’ club or organised activities for 12 out of our 14 days was disappointing. While the staff involved in evening entertainment were friendly and tried their best, the overall offering for children was limited and underwhelming. Around the pool, the ongoing issue of guests reserving sunbeds early (“towel racing”) was evident, despite rules stating otherwise, and was not effectively managed by the hotel. If you wished for the front row you needed to be down for 7am.

In summary, while the hotel offers comfortable accommodation and some good facilities for older children, improvements are needed in communication, maintenance, and overall guest experience. With better organisation and attention to detail, this could be a much more enjoyable place to stay.
