Situated only 100 metres away from the next beach, the family-friendly hotel enjoys a wonderful setting in the renowned holiday resort of Playa de Las Américas in the southwest of Tenerife. A wide variety of restaurants, bars, shops and entertainment venues can be found in the surrounding area. The Magma Art & Congress Centre and the Las Américas Golf Course are within a short stroll. The hotel offers a fantastic pool area with two large outdoor pools and a children's pool as well as a large sun terrace with loungers and parasols. The wellness area will everyone’s favourite. The buffet restaurant serves delicious Canarian and international food. The modern rooms have all the needed amenities to spend the best and most memorable stay.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Our first time at the hotel gala and spa, was safe to say it was one of the best if not the best spa experience we have had. The team were welcoming and helpful in all aspects, and supported any need required. We had a bamboo scrub and peel and hydration followed by a couples aromatherapy gold oil massage by Jose and Babi, 100% a great team after connecting the first couples massage at the hotel gala spa flawlessly. Will 100% go back again and would highly recommend!
Thank you from the Haltons❤️
Frank behind the desk was amazing friendly and always happy to help with a smile would 100% visit again
Location is great as it’s around the corner from the main restaurants and bars. Food is ok, was cold most of the time Spa is excellent especially Jose who gives an awesome sport/therapeutic massage . Spa facilities are great too which include steam rooms, saunas, shower rooms, cold pool, hot spa and large spa pool.
Entertainment is fantastic, great for kids
Firstly, we would like to thank Frank on reception for his outstanding efforts during our stay. Frank is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, and his recommendations were fantastic! Thanks to him, we had two amazing days out on excursions, and we really appreciated all of his help and advice.
The hotel itself is exactly what you would expect from a 4-star hotel and was exceptionally clean throughout. The entertainment staff were great and made a real effort to interact with all guests, both during the daytime activities (including pool activities) and evening entertainment. The two gentleman, who we seen majority of the time (didn’t manage to get names!) were phenomenal, they were great with the kids and ensured everyone had a good time - adults included!
There is plenty to do around the hotel, particularly for children, with lots of entertainment available, including a kids club and arcade room. There is also a shop directly opposite the hotel, along with a couple of bars, which was very convenient. There is the usual hustle and bustle but it wasn’t an inconvenience for us.
The hotel is situated right on Veronica’s Strip, which could be either a positive or a negative depending on what you are looking for from your holiday. For us, our room was close to the strip (room 601) so it was quite loud in the evenings. However, we were aware of the location before arriving, so this wasn't an issue for us. We were tired after our days out and slept fine, but it is definitely something to bear in mind if you are a light sleeper or travelling with young children. Beds were a little uncomfortable but I do think this is personal preference rather than an issue. There is an option to upgrade your room, this also comes with access to the Spa.
We were half board, which meant we had breakfast included, with the option of having either lunch or dinner each day. This was extremely convenient for us, particularly with having days out and excursions planned. We could decide on the day whether lunch or dinner would be more suitable depending on our plans, and this worked really well for us.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner were buffet-style and generally what you would expect from this type of hotel. Drinks are provided at breakfast, including fruit juices, tea, coffee and water but drinks aren't included with lunch or dinner, these can be ordered from your table. I would recommend going during the quieter hours where possible, as the restaurant did get very busy — although we did visit in mid-August, so this wasn't unexpected. Dinner is served from 7pm–10pm, which we sometimes found a little late, particularly with a younger child who was already hungry by that time.
The pool was excellent, with two pools at different depths and plenty of sunbeds available. There is also a splash pad for younger children. The pool bar is open for the majority of the day and offers a good selection of food and drinks. Pool towels are available to hire for €15 each which is refunded when the towels are returned. There is a charge of €1 to change your towels for clean ones if you wish.
Once the pool bar closes, the lounge bar opens. There is always somewhere to get a drink during the day.
One thing to be aware of is that all extras are charged to your room and paid for on departure. We chose to settle our bill at the end of each evening, which was straightforward and wasn't an issue for us.
Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend the hotel. The staff, cleanliness, entertainment and pool were all excellent, and a special thank you to Frank for making our excursions even more enjoyable with his fantastic recommendations. We would definitely come back to this hotel if we are to stay in this area again.
