The Tenerife Sur airport is at 15 km distance. For those wanting to practice their swing, there is a golf course nearby the hotel. We are currently staying at Catalonia Oro Negro Tenerife on a half-board basis (checking out tomorrow, Sept 2nd) and we cannot wait to leave. Our main electrical switch Box started making loud sparking noises, sounding like it was going to catch fire or explode. Because of this issue, both the AC and the ceiling fan completely stopped working. I have gone to the reception desk over 30 times since yesterday to complain, but the staff repeatedly dismissed my safety concerns, insisting it "wouldn't catch fire" and promising electricians who never showed up. Expecting guests to sleep through a severe fire hazard with no air conditioning in peak summer heat is completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, there is a serious pest problem. We have seen cockroaches everywhere; in our rooms, in the main lobbies, inside the elevators, at the entrance to the restaurant, and inside the dining area itself. Management has shown zero urgency or care for guest safety and basic hygiene. Avoid this hotel until they make serious improvements.

Nice hotel
This hotel is very good really enjoyed our time here The rooms are nice, we had twin room on 2nd floor quite big, my mum had same but the only complaint with her room there was only 1 plughole our room had loads didnt see 1 cockroch in any of our rooms. Pool . downside is you have to sit at side of pool from about 8.30 in order 2 get a poolside sunbed which they open at 10am sharp, but if you get one near stage they is always plenty these open at 9am but ive been to hotel and had to get ip at 4-5 am so not too bad that pool is always cleaned and well looked after. Alot of donts in the pool in most of it its 3mtr deep but you are not allowed to dive take bslls in or like kids do push each other in, you can use lilos and floats.
Entertainment . Pretty good lots of games during the day and live acts at night only from 9.30- till 10.30. Food. Im a very picky eater but always found something so yo me food was pretty good . Staff good but 1 of the lifegaurds is very stricked if he sees people diving or messing round pool in he goes madat them. Location. Not bad but if you want to get back at night there is a bit of a hill but not too bad. All in all i really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would definatly go back

Overall dirty tired and disappointing
Reception staff and other staff are lovely and helpful. However the hotel itself is in a poor state unclean needs maintenance and floor 1 rooms are terrible. Old fashioned dark dirty and unsafe doors don’t lock. We were put in 118 and 117 the doors to room and balcony did not lock it was dark and dirty we got a new room which was far better but lost a day as had to check out of first room and then wait till late to get our new room. Pool area is small and very dirty Food hall very dirty and there are cockroaches food was not fit for consumption we ate out very sad as we booked this based on good reviews on booking.com this was by far a poor standard for a 3 star hotel

Excellent
My family and I had a fantastic stay at Catalonia Oro Negro in Tenerife. The hotel was comfortable and in a great location, just a short walk from the beach, shops, bars, and restaurants. The staff were incredibly friendly and always happy to help, making us feel welcome throughout our stay.
Our room was spacious and had a great balcony overlooking the pool. The pool area was lovely, with plenty of sunbeds and a relaxed atmosphere. There was entertainment throughout the day, every day, with activities suitable for both adults and children.
We stayed on a half-board basis, which included breakfast and dinner. The food was really good, especially the breakfast, which offered plenty of choice. The dinner buffet was enjoyable, although I personally felt it could have offered a wider selection of dishes.
The hotel offers excellent value for money and is a great choice for couples, families, or groups of friends looking to enjoy Tenerife. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the island.
