Paying for an all inclusive holiday with a lovely pool, however not allowed to have floaties in the pool which i think is shocking considering your paying for it and they only care if it's certain people. i've seen numerous families with large floaties being allowed them but for some reaosn my family isn't allowed a small floatie to help one of my family members swim. I think it's just poor. The lifeguards don't even pay attention to the swimmers as they are just sat in corners the entire time, so what difference does a floatie make? I would also like to question how heavy balls are allowed into the pool as couldn't that hit someone in the head causing a safety hazard but something to helps to stay afloat isn't allowed.
it’s a lovely hotel nice a modern the only massive problem i have is that you aren’t allowed to bring floats like floaty rings in the pool because they are app to big? i fail to understand how people who can’t swim aren’t allowed floats. this is absolutely ridiculous. they where completely fine with this yesterday when we went now all off a sudden no floats? this is terrible they need to get better some people can’t swim or fail to learn and want to relax in the pool with a float.
I wanted to leave the review I wish I had found online when I was researching this hotel.
Honestly, our experience at Sol Arona was fantastic, especially compared to our stay last year in Marbella at a very well-known hotel chain. Because of that experience, I was quite worried that this holiday might be disappointing too, but it turned out to be the complete opposite.
From the moment we arrived, we received excellent service at reception. The staff were welcoming, respectful and relaxed, even though we checked in late at night.
During the 10 days we stayed at the hotel, we were genuinely impressed. The breakfast was excellent and incredibly varied. It’s honestly difficult to think of something you might want for breakfast and not find it there. There were freshly made omelettes, boiled eggs, poached eggs, fried eggs cooked both soft and well done, salads, cereals, fruit, yogurts, ice cream, a wide selection of pastries, pancakes and much more.
The rooms are beautifully renovated, modern and spotlessly clean. Housekeeping came every day, and the towels were replaced daily as well. Beach towels are provided at reception and can be exchanged for fresh ones every three days. The hotel also has washing machines and dryers, which is very convenient for longer stays.
The shower gel and shampoo were of good quality, and the rooms are equipped with air conditioning and blackout curtains. The blackout curtains were one of our favourite features because they made the room completely dark, allowing us to sleep in even after sunrise.
Every member of staff we interacted with was friendly, relaxed and always happy to help.
The entertainment team deserves a special mention. The pool activities were excellent, and the team was energetic, cheerful, welcoming and fantastic with children. Our kids absolutely adored them and even cried when it was time to leave.
We didn’t have many special requests, but whenever we did, they were handled quickly. For example, when we asked for extra towels for our children because there weren’t enough in the room when we checked in, they brought them immediately.
One evening we arrived late to the Neon Party, and our youngest daughter didn’t have a neon bracelet. Three members of staff went out of their way to find one for her. It was such a small gesture, but it meant a lot to us and really showed how much they care about their guests.
The only downside was that there aren’t enough sun loungers around the main pool. They are often occupied by towels belonging to guests who don’t return for hours. This isn’t really the hotel’s fault, but introducing a policy to prevent reserving loungers for long periods would make a big difference. There is, however, a sun terrace upstairs with plenty of loungers for those who enjoy full sun, and we always found space there.
There were children’s workshops, themed parties and plenty of activities throughout the day, making it a great choice for families.
There is a small shop inside the hotel, and just outside the entrance you’ll find a supermarket where you can buy anything you might need. The hotel is also within easy walking distance of many restaurants, cafés and attractions.
Parking at the hotel costs €10 per day, but there is free parking available along the main road nearby.
The gym is fairly basic, but there are daily workout classes if you want to stay active.
Overall, this holiday exceeded all of our expectations, especially considering the price we paid. We would recommend Sol Arona without hesitation.
A big thank you to the entire staff for making our holiday so enjoyable. We truly hope you maintain these high standards in the years to come, because we will definitely be back.
High expectations based on previous reviews. Hotel was clean, staff were mostly friendly. Food was same old same old buffet food, no better no worse than other hotels. Evening entertainment was awful, children’s disco only lasted for a maximum four songs. Bingo was a nonsense, we couldn’t understand what the girl was saying. Kids were told the play area at kids club was closed although we were with them to supervise - no actual reason for this other than to increase number of holiday makers sitting in entertainment area. Fun Pub was closed throughout our stay. The two pool tables were out of order from day 2, reception were unable to provide change to play anyway. Kids got cut feet from bottom of pool so make sure water shoes are a priority. Won’t return to this hotel.
Me and my husband had such a good time at this hotel. Don’t be put off by the outside, the inside (has been updated) is fabulous. Clean and contemporary. Reception staff very friendly and welcoming. Restaurant, bar staff and cleaners just as lovely and welcoming. It is a very family Focused hotel so going in peak season will be less than optimum for couples. However in saying that we had no problems. The entertainment team is suberb! We couldn’t help but get involved in the activities, they make an effort to get to know you and work so hard. Fantastic atmosphere.
Food was amazing, loads of options, something different every night and delicious. If im being picky… could do with some more labelling of what the food is so if your vegan/vegatarian/gluten free. Might be tricky.
Cocktails.. mojitos, daiquiri, delicious (token system if all inclusive- very easy to use).
Rooms, cleaned every day to high standard.
We will definitely stay again at sol Arona!
