Hollywood Mirage

We really enjoyed our stay at ONA Hollywood Mirage.

The rooms were modern, spacious and spotlessly clean. The only thing we’d mention is it could do with more towels provided.

Facilities are excellent — pools, gym and spa were all well kept. The food was tasty with good variety.

Staff were very helpful and friendly throughout. Overall a great base in Los Cristianos and we’d stay again.

This was our 2nd visit to this hotel, having previously stayed here in July 2024.

The location is okay for us, but is far from the beach and any large supermarkets, both being a 30-40 minute walk away. The walk to the beach is all downhill, so the journey back is all uphill. The hotel does operate a bus service to Los Cristianos.

We took a taxi from the airport that cost €26. Don’t use the hotels taxi service as this appears to have set rate of €38.

We arrived at around midday-ish, and were made aware by reception that early check-in is not available. Instead there are baggage storage lockers that cost €2 per use. The medium sized ones are big enough to fit one suitcase and a few rucksacks. Check-in is at 16:00, this was a smooth process. But when we arrived at our room (4201) it was still being cleaned, so we had to wait in the corridor for 15 minutes until the cleaner had finished.

Our room was decent, we had a one bedroom apartment. This had two bathrooms, a kitchen (with a range of utensils), iron and ironing boarding, a large balcony, and good air con. Two things we found to be lacking in the rooms were nothing to clean the kitchen or wash our dishes with, and the fact that our bed was two single beds pushed together, which meant there was a gap in the middle.

Our booking included breakfast, which was okay. A decent selection of food, but at times some of it was barely cooked and just edible, such as bacon and eggs. I think at times the cooking was rushed to keep up with demand. All the food is labelled with allergens which is handy. We did find that if you go to breakfast between 09:30 - 10:00, it was quite busy.

The main pool area is a good size for the hotel, and was rarely full so didn’t get too busy. The pool was a good temperature. The bar in this area was okay, sometimes service was a bit slow. Unfortunately one day during our visit the pool area closed at 15:00 unexpectedly due to a party that evening. This was a bit annoying as we hadn’t been made aware prior to this, and didn’t seem to be invited to the party. The evening entertainment around the pool can be super loud, we could hear it in our bedroom with the doors / windows closed. This usually ended between 21:30 - 22:00. So those with young children may want rooms away from the pool. Also one day the pool area kept getting wafts of a sewage smell.

The on-site shop was good, stocking all basic necessities, snacks, and drinks. Suncream was expensive here, but this tends to be the case in most shops in the canaries.

A few times (night and day) we had some kids (I assume) rang our doorbell and run away. Kids will be kids, but it’s something to bear in mind if your looking to stay here.

Overall our stay here was okay, but we came across a few issues, but can’t knock the price. I’m not 100% sure if we’d stay here again.

I have just spent a wonderful week with my family in this complex. I was apprehensive prior to our holiday as I had read a lot if mixed reviews .So I wanted to provide a review based on my experience. Apartments were very spacious great air-conditioning and clean. Yes they are a bit dated but the ocean view was unreal. Staff were so helpful and friendly and we felt very safe . From the poolside entertainment to the night security everyone was so professional.and friendly. The lifeguard had a no nonsense approach to sunbed hoggers. If your not on your sunbed your towel is removed which was so refreshing.. It was fantastic value for money. Breakfast was good.
Location is on a hill but there is a complimentary bus hourly to bring you down town. We found a lot of really nice restaurants locally also. My onmy complaint was the queue for checking in. I had already checked in online so I would like.managment to look at this system. Reception staff were efficient and friendly but the wait was tieing to check in. Overall we had a wonderful.week.and will.def be back.
