We have just returned from a week here . It was the hottest week we’ve ever had in Tenerife and I didn’t realise not all rooms had aircon. Ours didn’t and there were no rooms available to upgrade. Reception isn’t great , very rundown and in need of updating but the reception staff are really friendly . It’s a big complex but we weren’t too far from reception or pools. The pools have astroturf around them and I didn’t like it . The green fibres came off on my feet and was full of hairs and crumbs etc. The apartment was ok with a modern bathroom and the beds were actually dry comfortable. Kitchen had very few utensils and only one plug yet the bathroom had 3 ? We had a lovely cleaner once and got clean bedding and towels . The day we arrived though there was soap scum and hairs on the bathroom sink . We didn’t eat there so can’t comment on food . Location is excellent and it was a nice quiet complex . There was entertainment every evening but we didn’t go . The place just needs an upgrade . Saying that , because of the location and friendly staff we would go back but only in a room with aircon as the heat last week was unbearable. And get rid of the Astroturf .
The rooms need updating. There's a general atmosphere of rundown. The crockery is mismatched, cutlery old and rusty. In general, fairly dirty. There were large cockroaches in the room. The whole place could do with a general uplift into the 21st century. Given the choice, I would not stay here again unless there's an improvement in standards and quality.
On first impressions the reception looked more like a conservatory, getting your luggage to your apartment was a bit of a struggle but a map is given (if your able to understand it) On arrival to the apartment the accommodation is basic and I felt a little dated but it had all that was required apart from air conditioning, a fan can be supplied with a small refundable deposit. There is a fully inclusive option although I had food out and only tried the snake on my last day, burger and chips , I wasn’t impressed and grateful I had food out. During my weeks stay the room was cleaned once , well the sheets changed, the cups where left as found but I guess it’s a self catering apartment so I wasn’t overly worried about that.. For me I was in an apartment right next to the bar/pool so you can clearly hear the noise from the bar and the pool, the bar closed at 23:00hrs and did calm down very quickly. The price reflected on all these comments and all I required was a bed for the week which it had, the staff are very polite and helpful and only a 5 minute walk to the beach. All in all if your looking for a cheap stay and your not concerned with creature comfort this hotel would be sufficient.
We just spent a week here as a group of 10 (ranging from teenagers and young adults to older adults), and we had a brilliant time. Before we arrived, we were a bit apprehensive after reading some of the poorer reviews online, but we were pleasantly surprised all round and would gladly recommend it for the price we paid.
Location: The hotel is in a fantastic location, within easy walking distance to the beach, local bars, and restaurants, making it really convenient for getting out and exploring.
Check-in & Staff: Arrival was smooth and easy. The reception staff were very friendly and took the time to explain everything clearly to us. In fact, a special shout-out to the woman at reception who organized a trip to the local go-karting track for our group and arranged a minibus there and back included in the price, it was an amazing experience!
Cleanliness: Contrary to what we read beforehand, we found the complex very clean. Throughout our stay, we constantly saw staff mopping, tidying, and keeping the public areas spotless. We were provided with enough towels for the week, and our room was cleaned during our stay.
Food & Drink: Again, unlike some of the negative reviews, we thought the food was great! I really enjoyed the afternoon and evening menus which included some delicious steak, pork, chicken, duck, seafood and vegitarian dishes. While the breakfast selection was a bit "samey" day-to-day, it was still totally fine and set us up well. As for the drinks, having San Miguel on draft was a huge plus, and my wife was thrilled that Aperol Spritz was included in the all-inclusive package (especially since you'd pay around €7.50 for one out at local bars!). The other cocktails were decent enough, maybe not the absolute best, but they definitely did the job.
Pools & Activities: With three pools to choose from, we had plenty of space, and all of them felt clean and well-kept. We made use of the tennis and table tennis (just a €20 refundable deposit for equipment). There's also a basketball and a sand football pitch available, though we didn't end up using those.
Entertainment: The evening entertainment was fantastic! We enjoyed the live singers, bingo, a magic show, and a live snake show that went down a storm with everyone.
Two constructive tips for management & future guests:
Air Conditioning / Rooms: Our room didn't have air conditioning, which would have been great during the warmer nights. However, you can pick up a fan from reception for a €20 deposit (which you get back when you return it), and having that made a massive difference.
Toilets: In the evening entertainment area, there is only one unisex toilet. With no urinals and just a single toilet cabin, it gets messy and overwhelmed very quickly, especially during busy periods. Having proper separate men's and women's facilities would make a big difference.
Overall, we had a fantastic, stress-free holiday. If you're hesitating because of the bad reviews online, don't, our experience was definately positive!
The hotel was quite run down and awkwardly laid out. The two pools were tiny. We were initially given apartment 118 which was simply a metal door in a wall with a bulkhead light above - this looked very prison like. The apartment itself wasn't great, the bathroom wasn't very clean and there were only 5 clothes hangers. The safe was broken and our balcony was under a stairwell! We did complain and got moved to a nicer apartment with a view of the mountain. Whilst the apartment was okay, the bathroom smelt of raw sewage. This I traced to a faulty trap on the basin - twice we had an engineer in to look at it but it wasn't fixed so we had to use the kitchen sink for our ablutions. We bunged the bathroom basin overflow with wet wipes so we could still use the toilet and shower. The safe (3 euros a day rent!) jammed twice - again had to call an engineer to fix it so we could retrieve our stuff. We booked through 'Love Holidays' and were only given the option to go self catering or full board, there was no 'inclusive' deal on offer. We chose full board. Apparently, this meant we were only allowed water with our meals! The food was pretty average at best, we suffered several bouts of diarrhea after eating there. We saw others helping themselves to juice, so we swapped to that (it's not actual fruit juice, more flavour sugar water) but soon got told off by the waiting staff - apparently, they do offer inclusive and the juice was for those guests. We did try to upgrade to inclusive but this would cost us 40 euros per day! Other full board guests we spoke to were really unhappy with the 'water only' situation. We did bring our own drinks in to the restaurant and were told off yet again as this wasn’t allowed. We elected to eat off site as much as possible after this. The hotel was quite rowdy. We had neighbours from hell below us who actually arrived already drunk, shouting and bawling into the night - we had ear plugs with us, I'd recommend taking these with you.
There were some good points – the hot water was plentiful and the staff did their best – but I have to say this was by far the worst place we’d ever stayed in. The hotel was in a good location - fairly near to the beaches. The nearest supermarket however was a 15min walk which is a long way when lugging 8 litres of water back up to our room – of course the hotel doesn’t sell water!
No AC in our apartment - some rooms had it, but not ours. We got a free fan from reception - but 20 euros deposit. And if you need it, a hair dryer is free, but 10 euros deposit
Los Cristianos seafront is a bit ‘Benidorm’ but had plenty of restaurants and bars-The food was pretty good and fairly cheap. The seafront was marred by the rented double seated mobility scooters that were whizzing through the crowds – there’s signs to say only the disabled can use these on the seafront but the more entitled holiday makers choose to ignore this rule of course – with kids and all sorts driving fast and erratically. These will eventually seriously injure someone.
We'd recommend the 90min dolphin and whales boat trip from the port – but negotiate the price we paid 25 euros each the first time but got this down to 15 euros the second time. The beaches are great and whilst the various 'sales people' could be a little annoying they were generally good natured and entertaining. Remember to barter them down though - we paid 15 euros for our '25 euro' beach curtain/rug thing but they're just 9 euros in the beach tatt shops along the front.
