Edited just now Couple We come to Las Terrazas annually if not more. We must’ve visited now 10 or more times. We are always impressed, if not blown away, by the standard of accommodation, facilities and the professionalism and diligence of the staff here. This visit has been no exception, if not the very best. We arrived to a lovely apartment (as always) but without outside dining which we crave. In a moment, Rahul, Illaria and Maria worked tirelessly to resolve the issue and reallocate us to a new apartment with outside dining, garden, sun lounging and more. Thank you thank you all for your interest in our holiday pleasure and know that our loyalty to you and Las Terrazas remains secure in that we have already reserved our next visit for 2027. Las Terrazas and its incumbent staff are simply the best. 20/10 or more!
This was our second and last time here. Once again, we were assigned the worst room—right across from reception, just like last year—where, for five whole days, we were plagued by cigarette smoke drifting in from the adjacent apartment. The guest staying there was inconsiderate: he smoked, returned drunk every evening, and made noise all night and morning. When we complained, reception told us he was allowed to smoke on the terrace. They ignored our requests to switch apartments, even though we were willing to pay extra. They did offer us a two-bedroom apartment with a sea view at one point, but the surcharge for eight nights came to around 1,200 euros (and there were only two of us). Yet we knew for a fact that they had at least two other rooms available—identical to the one we had—because we had checked via the online booking system.
It's our first day home after our best family holiday ever. We stayed at Las Terrazas de Abama Suites for 12 days and can not fault the location, quality of the four bedroom suite, the helpfulness of the team, the golf course, food, you name it, it was all a +5 star experience. Big shout out to Rahul, Malanie at reception (excellent service, recommendations and excursion planning, Kevin (who made amazing cocktails), the breakfast team, the cleaning team, and everyone else we were helped by. Great value for money, exceptional communication, a genuine willingness to make the stay as enjoyable as possible, amazing atmosphere and views you can only imagine!
This will be our second time at the resort, already booked for next year. Whilst Tenerife as an island is a super place, where we found is absolute paradise, cannot fault one thing see you in September 27.
Our experience at Abama Resort Tenerife has been deeply upsetting and has completely destroyed our trust in this hotel. What should have been a relaxing holiday turned into a distressing experience involving a stolen personal belonging, serious concerns about room security, and a management team that has failed to provide any meaningful explanation or resolution.
During our stay, my Dyson hair straightener was stolen from our room. I reported the incident immediately, and that evening we were told that the hotel would investigate and get back to us the following morning. The next day, we were informed that the hotel had checked the key-card access logs and that someone had accessed our room who apparently had no reason to do so. We were told that further investigations were underway.
However, when we followed up a few hours later, on our final day, as we needed to check out and catch our flight, the manager suddenly became unwilling to confirm what we had previously been told and said she could not promise anything until the investigation was complete. Despite this, she assured us that the hotel would get to the bottom of the matter and would not simply drop it because we were leaving.
We even had to sacrifice the last hour of our holiday to file a police report.
And what happened afterwards? The General Manager emailed us to say that the hotel's investigation was over and that it was good we had filed a police report. That was it. No explanation of the findings. No clarification about the unexplained room access. No apology. No accountability. No offer of reimbursement or any meaningful resolution.
What makes this even more concerning is that this was not the first incident during our stay. On an earlier occasion, we returned to find our room door open. A small toy belonging to my son was also missing. I reported the incident, specifically raised the issue of the open door, and mentioned the missing toy. We never received any explanation or follow-up.
Taken together, these incidents raise very serious questions about the security of guests' rooms and belongings at this resort. Guests should never have to wonder who can enter their room, whether their possessions are safe, or whether management will take their concerns seriously.
For a resort of this standard and price, the lack of transparency, communication and accountability has been absolutely unacceptable. What is particularly disappointing is not only the theft itself, but the way management handled the situation: making assurances, appearing to backtrack on information previously provided, and ultimately closing the investigation without offering us any explanation whatsoever.
We have filed a police report, and this matter is not over for us. If the hotel is unwilling to cooperate meaningfully and provide a proper explanation and resolution, we will consider taking further appropriate steps to pursue the matter.
A luxury resort should offer its guests peace of mind, safety and professional service. Our experience was the complete opposite.
I would strongly advise future guests to think carefully about the security of their belongings before staying here. We certainly did not expect to spend part of our family holiday dealing with a theft, worrying about room access, filing a police report, and then being left with unanswered questions by the hotel's management.
An extremely disappointing experience and a shocking failure of guest care. We would never consider returning to this place where you can not even feel safe let alone enjoy!
