A Poor Quality Resort! IT IS NOT FIVE STAR!!
We (my wife and me) spent two split weeks at the Muthu Grand Plasa on a self-catering basis. One in a two-bedroom apartment and the other in a smaller studio apartment. Both needed an upgrade. The kitchen in both was not fit for a self-catering holiday with a two-ring hop in both and lacking in utensils and other broken making life difficult when preparing any meal. We were charged a total of 110 euro for utilities for the two weeks stay. Assuming a 60% occupancy that is over 3,600 euros. My three-bedroom semi in the UK servicing all seven room spaces and a garden does not cost me £3000 for the whole year. How can the utilities charge be justified? I appreciate the need for a charge to be made for the utilities used, but 40 euros for one week in a small studio apartment with not that much time spent in it is frankly a rip off! The cleaning staff did service the apartments every day, but the public areas of the resort are not clean. If you are same sex group on a budget and have got a good ‘cheep’ deal this resort is fine, however if you are growing family that have saved and spent for a stay at the Muthu Grand Plaza beware as it is not the five-star hotel it claims to be. We shall not be returning!

Not the best 5*
If you plan on staying here, I strongly recommend paying extra for the MAGMA upgrade, as it grants access to exclusive areas that improve the experience. For the price point, we weren't expecting over-the-top luxury, but there are several operational areas that need attention.
Dining & Cuisine: The all-inclusive food quality was quite disappointing. Variety was lacking, overall quality was low, and some desserts tasted off or suffered from cross-contamination.
Staff & Service: As hospitality professionals ourselves, we fully empathized with the staff. They appeared visibly overworked and we saw the same team working morning, noon, and night in occasions.
Check-in was lacking, as no information was provided about hotel amenities, though we remained understanding given trainees were working at reception.
MAGMA Service & Spa: MAGMA includes access to the VIP zone and the spa. The private area with a small pool and Balinese beds was by far the best part of our stay (especially on our second day when we had it all to ourselves). However, keep in mind: The spa is closed on Mondays (which is not clearly stated on their website). The spa facilities are modest (Turkish bath, sauna, cold plunge, and a main pool with jets). We noticed the water in the cold plunge pool looked a bit dirty.
Parking: On-site parking costs €10/night, even for MAGMA guests. However, street parking in the surrounding area is fairly easy to find for free.
Overall, it is an acceptable option if your expectations are modest, but the food and onboarding experience need work to match true 5-star standards.
Terrible hotel
Very disappointed with this dated hotel and its basic level of comfort. The internet connection was virtually nonexistent during my stay. Aircraft noise was particularly disruptive and prevented me from getting a good night’s sleep. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, quiet place to rest.

Not the best disappointed
Quiet location but what we wanted with constant planes flying over day and nite but we knew this. Our room was at back of hotel with constant emptying of recycling glass every nite at around 3 am Cleaning was appalling in corridors never cleaned once in the week especially after workman had been in room next door and filled corridors with dust (never cleaned ) Room dirty but specious and fantastic air con Food was not good (we never moan ever ) Entertainment was terrible in a confined room with no windows. karaoke most nites

I honestly have no positive feedback for this hotel. I am not in the slightest a hard to please person and stayed in 3 stars before and I must say they have been much better.
Rooms - old fashioned, can even move on the beds without them creaking. We booked a family room and the lounge beds were basically planks of wood to sleep on with a very old flimsy mattress.
Cleanliness - cleaned every other day, but later on the afternoon so if you want to go back to get out of the afternoon sun for a bit, you can't or your room doesn't get cleaned. But when they do clean it, I wouldn't have even bothered. Making the beds and putting fresh towels in isn't cleaning. Left all the dirty coffee cups in the room. Didn't remove the plastic cups or empty the bins.!!
Food - don't even bother expecting much. The variety is shocking, lived off pizza for 3 days and even that didn't have cheese on. Food barely warm. Smallest selection I've ever seen. 1 small salad bar, one small hot food bar, 1 small desert bar, someone making chicken and grill and that is it!! Chips for breakfast 🤯 Snack bar, everything isn't stocked up enough and runs out, food is in self serving heaters that don't even heat up. Stale bread and sandwiches.
Drinks - cocktails premade just full of syrup and sugar, not even drinkable, all the fizzy drinks run out constantly and is just soda water. Fruit juice is in jugs standing and tasted either like water or sick!
Entertainment - in a dingy bar area down in what feels like the basement. Terrible acts not kid friendly. They will be bored. Didn't bother with it, walked out soon as we walked in.
All inclusive - well, this was an experience I've never had. Arrived at 7pm for 3 nights always been able to check out and continue to use amenities and all inclusive, but no not here, departed at 6pm, checked out, lounges around the pool and was told we couldn't have lunch or drinks! So basically paid for 3 days but got 2!
Staff - only one friendly was the lady on reception on arrival. Rest don't crack a smile and make you very unwelcome.
Positives - pools ok and plenty of loungers
Is it a 4/5 star, absolutely not!! I would only just give it a 3 and even then Id be disappointed. How they can call this a 4/5 star hotel is ridiculous and I feel scammed!
