Poor drinks service at mealtimes
Room was lovely and huge no issues, generally managed to get a sunbed but having stayed at other Barceló hotels the selection of food was not as extensive and having to wait on staff to get a drink at meal times was not great, sometimes I would sit for 20 min before managing to get attention. At breakfast you can help yourself would be a much better arrangement at lunch and dinner. What food there was very good. Would probably not return but would def return to Barcelo Active Lanzarote 😊

The hotel was beautiful, well maintained and clean throughout with plenty of staff to maintain this. The bars were excellent, the food was good but would have liked a bit more food that suited the culinary theme each night. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave.
Perfect family holiday
We stayed at the hotel with our family including children, teenagers and grandparents over the past two weeks. It was a perfect holiday for all. Food, accommodation and entertainment were just brilliant. Big shout out to the staff who were always helpful and personable, hence the service is very good. The setting in the San Blas nature reserve is really special and a visit with the fantastic guide is highly recommended. Finally, have to mention Samu, Roger and Jessica who run the entertainment. You guys are amazing - aquagym and water polo will never be the same 😊! We’ll be back!

Really Nice Resort Hotel
Don’t be put off by some of the odd reviews of this hotel. We had a week there (3 adults, 3 kids) in August ‘26 and loved it. Of course it’s not a 5 star hotel for Dubai, but it’s definitely better than any other European resort I’ve stayed at. Maybe it should be 4.5 stars. There were some things needed improving, but nothing that would ruin your holiday. The staff were fantastic, and the evening entertainment was fun. Location is okay, and although planes constantly fly just north of the hotel, it’s never annoying. The buffet wasn’t the best ever, but it’s more than adequate and there was plenty of nice food. The shortage of sun loungers - there’s usually somewhere to sit/lie. You’ve just got to look around and be imaginative. We didn’t really struggle though. Overall, it’s a really nice hotel. Yes, it’s breezy, and yes, there’s the odd cockroach, but hardly any dramas. Los Cristianos is a 25 euro, 20 minute taxi ride. Bit expensive, but hey ho. Kayaking in the lake was fun, but over quite quickly. Our kids loved the hotel and made friends easily due to the basketball court, and the great hotel staff.
