You're just 900 metres from the centre of El Medano, and you're right on the seafront too. In other words, when you stay at the Arenas del Mar Hotel you're absolutely perfectly placed for a fabulous holiday in one of Tenerife's most popular spots. And what about that beach… it's one of the most impressive stretches of beach in the whole of Tenerife. It really is amazing: beautifully black sands that stretch as far as the eye can see, bordered by the irresistible blue of the Mediterranean.

The Arenas del Mar Hotel has certainly earned its four stars and its incredible reputation. People flock to El Medano for that beach and that wonderful weather. And for anyone who's stayed there, the Arenas del Mar Hotel is just as much of a draw.
The views are outstanding, and its position on the seafront within easy reach of both town and beach is unrivalled. But location isn't everything. The Arenas del Mar Hotel is so enduringly popular because it's such a smart, modern hotel with fantastic amenities.
Just wait till you see the pool. Fringed by recliners and a wave of trees, – and then by the beach itself; there's something so much more exhilarating about swimming with the unmistakable scent of the fresh sea air in your nostrils.
Whatever you do, don't forget that there's an indoor pool too. Part of a wonderful recreation suite, with the superb spa facilities available*, you really could spend a lot of time here. Floor length windows let in loads of that wonderful light, and bring out the gorgeous colours in this little haven of peace and tranquillity. Please note the recreation suite is open to Adults only.
One of the really nice things about the Arenas del Mar Hotel is that sense that whatever you might hope for, the reality is better. The guests' rooms are a good example. Bigger and better than most hotel rooms, the standard rooms are actually junior suites. So there are double beds as standard, and plenty of room for you to relax and unwind.
All rooms come with a wonderful balcony – well, you really do want to make the most of those incredible views. They also satellite plasma TV and phone, room safe and minibar. Sea view rooms are also available.
The Arenas del Mar Hotel is choc-full of amenities too, ranging from its own internet cafe and shop, to a TV lounge and all sorts of activities. With a restaurant, cafe and pool bar as well, this really is one of those hotels that you could quite happily luxuriate in for a week or more.

The 4* Arenas del Mar is situated on the seafront in El Medano, just 900 metres from the centre. It is an ideal choice for a relaxing holiday with stunning views of the ocean and a fantastic array of amenities including an outdoor swimming pool, entertainment area, bars and a superb modern spa at a fee. La Jaquita Beach, a black sandy beach is close to the hotel.

Fabulous location
We chose this hotel for the location and we weren't disappointed. Booked a sea view Jnr suite and it was absolutely amazing. The AC wasn't brilliant but we were never too hot. Although there wasn't supposed to be evening entertainment there was a disco at night on the lower level by the pool. Jorge the bar man was entertainment in itself as well, very flamboyant and great company. No rush for sunbeds either we always managed to get them without having to get up at dawn. They are replacing the broken sunbeds as needed. Loved the sustainability of the hotel, €1 for a pool cup to keep single use plastic down and they return it when you leave. Drinks are plentiful but the wine not great. No silly little toiletries either, the shampoo etc all filled up when needed. Unfortunately the food wasn't great for us as vegetarian/vegan there really wasn't a great choice at all so we went into the town 2 nights. All in all a great holiday but until they up their game on food for vegans we'd not go back.

TERRIBLE
Terrible the hotel needs to have a make over and there is no way it can be a 4 star hotel, the rooms are out dated the furniture and light shade are disgusting and very grubby, the rain shower head is in need of cleaning full of dust and grim. The pool has missing tiles, also black scum growing in the pool, the handle bars you use to get in and out of the pool are loose and very rusty, the safe is charged at 30 euros per day, if you want to go to use the sauna and in door pool it will cost you 25 euros and this is only for 15 minute's. The housekeeping staff just re make the bed no cleaning done at all. The main door you use to get in to the hotel had finger marks on them this was not cleaned all the time we were there, the food was always cold, you had to pay 1 euro for a plastic tumbler to use out side. I have photos to back up my review. The holiday was way over priced for this terrible hotel there is no way that we will be returning to the hotel, the only good thing was the taxi minibus taking us from the airport to the hotel and back, but its a rather expensive taxi ride

I have just returned from 3 weeks at this hotel, i have been here numerous times. Service and staff are fantastic , they even arranged for myself to have the same room on the 5th floor. I have also booked again next year for another 3 weeks Mike
Best girls trip! Great hotel.
We stayed in a sea view junior suite, all-inclusive. 3 women in their 40’s on a much needed break! The room was beautiful, view spectacular and we couldn’t have asked for more. We were all delighted when we arrived!
Lovely hotel throughout. A few bits weren’t open due to the time of year but it didn’t matter. Apparently they opened the following week but we were happy with everything.
The food was really good. Loads of choice, very fresh and really made the holiday.
Drinks were a good selection for all inclusive including cava, premium beer and a selection of cocktails. The only slight niggle was when you took your cup to get another drink, it often wasn’t washed out or changed so your last drink dregs were mixed in. We started asking for a fresh cup each time which sorted it out!
There was a small shop right next door and a short walk took you to a nearby town that was lovely to walk to with nice shops and restaurants. You could access the beach straight from the pool area.
It was windy as expected but a nice breeze and you could pick where to sunbathe if you wanted more shelter. We never struggled for sun beds but it was May so a bit quieter.
The salt water pool was lovely. So warm and enjoyable.
The spa area is well worth a visit. It was €15 and really good with various pools, water jets, sauna, cold-dip area etc. you could book extra treatments too.
Night time entertainment was a bit questionable but we had a laugh and enjoyed it. There’s a little night club with something on each night, then disco music.
Overall we couldn’t fault it. It’s the best girls trip we’ve had, made so much better with this great hotel. Highly recommended and a very reasonable price 💕

5th visit with a few niggles.
This was my Wife's and mine 5th visit to this lovely hotel. From the second you arrive to the time you leave you are made to feel very welcome. All the rooms we have had over the years have been great, but the last two years I have contacted the hotel and up graded our room to one of the hotels own suites (room 401), well worth the extra money. If you want your room serviced just leave the card on the door. Always well cleaned with extra towels if required. The food could be a little hit or miss, but more hit than miss. We always found enough to eat. The salt water pool is heated and even in the warm weather it is very inviting. Over the last few years we have always seen the pool man every morning cleaning the pool and checking levels, this year never saw anybody doing this once. so I have to agree with another review about the pool having a very nasty black growth on the tiles. Also the ladders around the pool are very rusty and loose. The pool area was mopped every morning, but it could do with a good jet wash. ( like the last few years). There were a lot of broken sun beds which are not a good look, but these were being removed and repaired. The 1 euro cup deposit is really a good idea and ours were washed out before each refill. We did not go and see the evening entertainment, but everyone we spoke to said they had a good night and really enjoyed it. The walk into town is a must and takes about 20 minutes, you will find plenty of restaurants and bars. The Indian restaurant is a must visit. So, over all the big question is would we be returning and the answer is a resounding YES, in fact we have booked to return again this Christmas (25th December 2026 to the 1st January). A massive thankyou to all the staff for making our stays so enjoyable and see you again soon.
