This property is 4 minutes walk from the beach. Just 300 m from La Pinta Beach in Playa Fañabe, HOVIMA Santa María offers tennis courts and outdoor pools, heated in winter. Apartments and studios have furnished terraces and well-equipped kitchenettes. A range of shops and restaurants can be found within a 5-minute walk, while Colón Marina is 350 m away. Tenerife Sur Airport is a 20-minute drive away.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Santa Maria is an old accommodation. Hovima operates a substantial portion, while the rest is privately owned. The necessary modernization/renovation has been a topic of discussion with the private owners for years. Fortunately, Hovima is able to acquire a number of rooms every year, so things will eventually work out.
The shower drain doesn't drain properly, the Wi-Fi isn't consistent, many floor tiles are cracked, kitchen cabinets are a bit crooked, etc., etc. But all of that also has authentic charm. We have been coming here for many years and feel welcome. The staff (reception, dining room, technical service, really everyone) is fantastic.
For us: we prefer the old Santa Maria with its charm to a modern, flashy place without a soul.
Just back from a week in the Santa Maria and could not fault it at all. Location was perfect so close to everything supermarkets on the corner beach walk 5 mins honestly the best location. Atmosphere was good. Rooms were standard rooms good storage and beneficial having a fridge. Balcony view was amazing. Rooms were cleaned very well and never had a problem. We didn’t have air con but did have two large fans. Claire is amazing at her job and is the real buzz around the place. What I did notice is how hard the staff work that maybe goes unrecognised. Whilst everyone is working at night enjoying there holiday you can see the restaurant staff still working and cleaning for the next day. Staff are brilliant nothing is a bother. Pool is great and having two pool tables is fab for kids. Food again always something to eat, i have two fussy children who tried something new every night which was a bonus. We changed dinner to lunch some days and again eveyething was good. If again we came back to Costa Adeje this would 100 percent be the hotel I would book. As a family of four we loved it. Thank you again!
Stayed here last week thers no air con in the rooms which is a bit of a disappointment the room was basic they put us in food is nice thers something for every one thers a bbq on a Monday night ther entertainment wasn't up to much don't think I'd go back but other than that it's was ok I suppose I'd give it a 5 out of 10
Visited as a group of 9 adults for a half board holiday for a birthday celebration. The hotel is perfectly situated for the area we like to be in Tenerife. There was a mix of nationalities in the hotel. It was the first time in this area for 4 of the group and everyone is talking about coming back with the teenage children.
The hotel pool was lovely and warm. Always plenty of sun beds no matter what time of day we visited the pool. The pool bar drinks are expensive - it’s the same price for a small cup of beer as it is a pint. Some of the staff will serve you a full beer in a glass if you sit at the bar.
Breakfast & Dinner were perfectly fine for us, we didn’t eat in the hotel every morning or night because we had other things arranged but there was no issue for us (including 2 vegetarians). The general consensus was that the BBQ night out in the terrace with the favourite. Self serve beer and wine was always going to be a winner!
We enjoyed the Irish Bar in the hotel, albeit it was a bit warm inside, though we spent the time we were there on the outside terrace.
The hotel staff are lovely, helpful and friendly. The hotel placed a personalised greeting, a bottle of fizz, 2 glasses and a piece of birthday cake in the room on the birthday day, which was a nice touch.
We had 5 studio rooms between us. 2 of the rooms had air con, 3 didn’t and those without aircon did struggle with the heat in the rooms all day and night. This was the only downfall of the hotel.
We had a lovely stay at Hotel Santa Maria in Costa Adeje, Tenerife. Overall, it’s a good hotel with a great location, close to shops, restaurants, and the beach.
The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool area was well maintained and there were always plenty of sunbeds available.
The food was good, with a reasonable variety each day, although there could have been a few more options at times. Some areas of the hotel are a little dated, but everything was clean and well looked after.
Overall, we really enjoyed our holiday and would happily stay here again. Good value for money and a great base for exploring Costa Adeje.
