The Hotel Chatur Playa Real Resort is located in the most exclusive tourist place in the south of Tenerife, in Costa Adeje. Very close to Playa del Duque and Fañabe beach and Siam Park. It is a hotel aimed at families and couples. Chatur Playa Real Resort offers an all-inclusive service and has 178 comfortable and spacious rooms with a separate bedroom, distributed in two buildings. The 117 junior suites are located in the main building and the 61 family rooms equipped with kitchenette are in the annex. All services and common areas are shared together to avoid limitations in the use of the facilities. There is a new pool area in the family room area with two splash pools for the children. And there are 2 more pools in the main area of the building with a small children's pool.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

This was our third stay at Chatur Playa Real, and we had a fantastic experience this time.
One of the biggest improvements for us was definitely the food. Compared with our stay last year, the difference was very noticeable. There was a good variety every day, the food was fresh and well cooked, and we genuinely enjoyed our meals throughout the holiday.
We also noticed a very welcome improvement at the snack bar. The food is now kept inside closed display cabinets, which is much more hygienic. During our previous stay the displays were open and, being an outdoor area, flies could sometimes get to the food. This has now been completely addressed, and we were really pleased to see the change.
Another thing we appreciated was how well the main restaurant was being managed. We regularly noticed a gentleman walking around the restaurant, keeping an eye on things and, when necessary, directing the waiting staff to clear and clean the tables. We don’t know what his exact role was, but his attention to detail was noticeable. Tables were cleared and cleaned promptly rather than being left with used plates or food on them, which helped keep the restaurant clean and organised even during busy meal times.
The cleanliness and general maintenance throughout the hotel also stood out to us. We regularly saw staff cleaning and maintaining the pool area. On several occasions, both in the morning and evening, we saw the sunbeds and umbrellas being thoroughly washed and cleaned. They even brought in some new sunbeds during our stay. It was great to see this level of care and attention being given to the hotel and its facilities.
As returning guests, we really appreciated the extra touches throughout our stay. We received a lovely welcome card and a fruit platter in our room, which was a very nice surprise and made us feel appreciated for choosing to come back.
Our experience on the final day was another lovely touch. After checking out, we asked reception if we could continue using our all-inclusive wristbands until it was time to leave for the airport. We made it clear that we were more than happy to pay for this, but to our surprise, the receptionist kindly allowed us to keep them at no extra charge. We genuinely appreciated this thoughtful gesture, especially as we had fully expected to pay. It meant we could still enjoy the hotel, have lunch and drinks, and relax for the last few hours before our taxi arrived.
At checkout, we were also given the hotel’s business card and told that if we decide to return again and need anything, we are welcome to contact them directly. These may seem like small gestures, but together they made us feel genuinely valued as returning guests and left us with a very positive impression at the end of our holiday.
The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and overall we could genuinely see how much the hotel has improved since our previous visit. As returning guests, it was especially nice to see that areas which could have been better before have actually been addressed.
We had a fantastic holiday and would definitely be happy to return again. Thank you to everyone at Chatur Playa Real for making our stay so enjoyable. See you again! 😊
We stayed here for a week 8-15oct.
Personally, we didn’t really enjoy the food. I understand AI can be repetitive but this was a different level. I only noticed one themed night which was Asian inspired we enjoyed this.
The drinks from the AI were pretty poor, the cocktails came from a machine and did not taste of alcohol just sugary water. The soft drinks were often flat too.
One evening we had no hot water, the only option was to go down to reception and use a shared shower facility which was inconvenient having to brings towels and toiletries with us.
Please be aware of your valuables in your room, I accidentally left a 5 euro note in my clutch bag from the night before the bag was open on the table. ( my fault for leaving it there) when we got back to the room after the cleaners had been it was gone. We did not report this as it was only 5 euro, had it been more we would have.
The hotel itself was clean and the rooms were good and spacious. It’s in a good location, 10 mins to the beach, with lots of restaurants a long the side.
The animation lady I think her name was ‘nordy’ she was lovely and always came to talk to us.
I think for the money you pay you’d expect more in regards to the drinks and food.
Overall we had a great holiday. I was nervous about this hotel having seen some of the reviews but it really wasnt as bad as I was expecting. We arrived just after lunch and headed straight to our room which was on the top floor of the family block. First impression walking in was a bit disappointing, there was a dodgy free standing aircon unit on the floor that had certainly seen better days, it worked but we had to keep it in the living area with hose going out of the balcony door and we had to empty a bucket every few hours or it overflowed onto the tiled floor but honestly, we just got on with it. The decor was tired (bright orange kitchenette) but it was clean and very spacious for just 2 of us with the biggest balcony I've ever seen! Beds were comfy, WiFi worked fine from lounge area and balcony but didnt reach the bedroom, TV streamed Netflix and YouTube etc just fine. You dont go on holiday to stay in the room though do you?
As others have mentioned the sunbeds round the pool were hit and miss. Very few adjustable ones and some that are broken so early bird caught the best beds. The pool itself was nice enough, with one side definitely warmer than the other, but for late sept both sides were warm enough. One thing I would say about the poolside was that as the day went on it was filthy, there were bins everywhere but all around the sunbeds were half empty drinks cups and food waste where people had just left it all there. They definitely needed more cleaning staff on duty but the state of the pool area was more of a reflection of the guests than the hotel itself.
Food was basic but we managed to find something good to eat every day. The poolside snack bar was best avoided but main AI restaurant was fine.
We found all staff to be pleasant, friendly and chatty. The bar was basic, we found it shut at 11pm prompt with not even the option to buy drinks after that time.
Hotel entertainment was pretty bad (magician was more of a comedy act) but then given the time of year, we were not expecting there to be any entertainment at all.
It was a short 5 min walk to the nearest supermarket, bars, restaurants, and a club across the road. Its 10mins walk to fanabe beach where we had some great nights.
I think given the area is quite an expensive part of Tenerife, this was a budget hotel but you get what you pay for. If you want a basic, clean, hotel in a good area, then its fine. If you're expecting a luxury break, with all the entertainment and you dont want to leave the complex, dont go there.
Not a 4-star experience – some good points, but plenty of room for improvement
In my opinion, this hotel is not worthy of a 4-star rating and is in need of a refurbishment. However, there are some positives worth mentioning too.
Pros:
Cons:
Overall:
There are some good things about this hotel, particularly the spacious rooms, pool area, Italian restaurant and location. However, these positives were overshadowed by the lack of cleanliness, concerns about safety, the noise from the late-night event and the way our complaints were handled.
What disappointed me most was not just the issues themselves, but the apparent lack of concern from staff when we raised them.
Personally, I would not return.
This hotel was fantastic. I was concerned because of the mixed reviews but wow. The staff were extremely helpful, the rooms were so clean (cleaners went above & beyond), the facilities were fantastic. The hotel was close enough to shops/beaches and everything was a cheap taxi ride away. The all inclusive food was AMAZING, so much choice, so much meat! We didnt have any complaints about this hotel.
The only recommendation I would give, the mattresses were a bit hard. This did not affect our holiday but could do with updating them.
Honestly, i would go back to this hotel again. Brilliant!
