Very clean rooms and everywhere else spotless , entertainment was poor and food was poor not much choice unless you like German cuisine would not go again
Fabulous adults only hotel.
We chose the Colón Guanahani hotel in Costa Adeje because we wanted an adults only hotel that wasn’t too big. Also because of the complimentary reviews on Tripadvisor. We went on a B&B basis as we like to eat out at night. We weren’t disappointed. This hotel is so clean, not a speck of dust in any of the corners and our room and public areas were kept spotless by the hardworking and so cheerful staff. Our room door on level 3 was actually at street level and open to the street at the sides and we were amazed to see such clean tiles in the corridor. Our balcony was set at a higher level due to the layout of the hotel. Our superior room didn’t have a walk in wardrobe as some have described but the room was large with a big wardrobe, plenty of hangers, ample drawer space, a bathroom with walk in powerful shower and a bath. The bed was huge. I think two queen sized beds linked together with a massive comfortable mattress on top. There was a device that the cleaner used to raise the bed by about a foot and bring it away from the wall for ease of changing the bedding. The aircon was efficient and quiet. The enormous tv was on the wall and the picture quality was brilliant. We didn’t use the balcony much but it was plenty big enough with built in clothes line. There was a litre of water every day and a fridge, kettle and coffee maker. There was so much choice at breakfast, fruit, yoghurt, nuts, cereal, cheeses, ham, juice, water, Cava, tea, a coffee machine, egg station, cooked breakfast choices, different breads and rolls. We didn’t use the main pool, we used the much smaller rooftop pool with its wonderful sea views. It was quiet and relaxing. Reception staff were always extremely helpful and cheerful.. Only one small criticism that isn’t enough to make me reduce the five stars I gave it. Towels were generously provided, a yellow one fitted to the size of the comfortable sun loungers to lie on and a blue one to dry yourself with. The towels could only be changed during a small time slot of 17.30 to 1800 hours. I’m not sure why they have this rule but if we wanted to leave the pool at 16.30 then at around 17.30 one of us had to carry four towels down two floors then back up again with clean towels. There were lifts if anyone needed to use them. Those choosing half board told me the food was very good with entertainment after. Dinner could be replaced by lunch if they preferred. We thought Colón Guanahani was a fabulous hotel and would definitely return. Colón Guanahani was Christopher Columbus and Guanahani is an island on which he landed in the Bahamas.

Another perfect stay
We spent the last two weeks of September her as we always do and everything was perfect. We had our favourite suite and from the moment we arrived it felt like home. We had the perfect welcome from Manolo on reception who remembered us from our previous stays. The suite was lovely as always with a welcomed cold bottle of water in the fridge alongside a bottle of fizz.
We ate in the restaurant on an evening and there was always a plentiful selection.to choose from? Always well cooked and hot. Breakfast was lovely again with a good selection of hot and cold food. Our restaurant waitress for almost the entire stay was the lovely Damaris who again remembered us and welcomed us with a smile each time we say her.
We enjoyed evenings in Bar Sala and Roberto was, as he always is, welcoming and helpful with drink requests. He helped surprise my husband with a bottle of fizz on his birthday and we always look forward to chatting to him.
Housekeeping were excellent and the suite was always spotless.
A special thanks to the lovely Monique who always helps with special requests.
I have recommended the hotel to many friends and will continue to do so. We have 3 further trips already planned and can’t wait to return.

Five stars are deserved!
An Absolute Little Piece of Paradise – Deserves Five Stars!
I honestly cannot praise this hotel highly enough. In my opinion, it deserves five stars rather than four!
I am notoriously difficult to please when it comes to holidays and accommodation because I have very high standards and really notice the little details. However, this hotel has genuinely impressed me in so many ways.
The attention to detail is exceptional. Every time you come for a meal, the tablecloth is freshly changed, and being able to sit outside in the sunshine and enjoy the lovely surroundings makes every meal a pleasure. Breakfast and lunch are fantastic, with a lovely choice of food. The evening buffet is perhaps not quite as outstanding, but there is always something to enjoy, and the quality is perfectly good. After all, it is impossible to please everyone at dinner every single evening!
The pool area is another real highlight. The sunbeds are fantastic, and, wonderfully, there is none of that awful early-morning scramble to reserve a lounger. There are always beds available, so you can actually relax and enjoy your holiday without the usual stress.
The little touches in the rooms are equally impressive, including a pillow menu and complimentary water. The staff are absolutely amazing, nothing is ever too much trouble, and the service really does make you feel looked after. At first, the atmosphere might seem a little formal, but once you settle in, you realise it is simply a calm, beautifully run hotel where everything is designed to make your stay special.
The drinks are excellent, the cocktails are lovely, and the prices throughout the hotel feel very reasonable for the quality you receive.
As an adult-only hotel, it offers a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. My husband and I are in our late fifties, and we are here with our two adult children. All four of us agree that this place is amazing, which says a great deal!
For me, it is the combination of the beautiful surroundings, the quality, the thoughtful details, the wonderful staff and the genuinely restful atmosphere that makes this hotel stand out.
It is a little piece of heaven, a little bit of paradise in Tenerife. I have very high expectations when I go away, and this hotel has exceeded them in so many ways.
Five stars from me without hesitation. We would happily return, and I really cannot recommend it highly enough!
