Zafiro Rey Don Jaime

I’ve been to Santa Ponsa many times but this was my first visit to the Zafiro Rey Don Jaime and it certainly won’t be my last. Great hotel close to the beach, restaurants and bars. Our room was adequate for our needs with a balcony and chairs. There’s a tv but we never stayed in our room long enough to watch it. As stated by other guests, our bathroom does need an update. The shower is quite high and unless you’re tall it is a stretch to reach it. Plus, for anyone with mobility issues, stepping into the bath could pose a problem. Housekeeping is very good with towels changed regularly and the floor is swept and mopped daily. For anyone feeling energetic Sam and Antonio take daily water aerobic classes plus killer darts and other poolside activities. They also take part in the evening entertainment in the lounge. Don’t know where they get their energy from. The restaurant is bright and airy and the man who welcomed us each mealtime and checked our wristband was so friendly. The wristbands also serve as a room key which makes life a lot easier as there’s no chance of losing it. The chefs do a great job and there was always a good choice. Sometimes food could have done with warming up so maybe a few microwaves would be an idea. My biggest thank you must go to the two ladies who kept our table spotlessly clean, removing used plates etc. Even when the restaurant was busy and they were rushed off their feet they still kept smiling. We were treated like friends and were always greeted with the biggest of smiles. Thank you so much Gloria and Petra. I’m so glad you were both on duty on our last day so we could say goodbye. Hopefully we’ll see you both again very soon. In my view the only negative was the number of golfing parties that were there. They did take over the seating in the pool area in the evening and were rather loud but their behaviour can’t be attributed to the hotel. The bar staff both day and evening were brilliant and coped really well. From first walking into the hotel until the day we left, everyone was so friendly and helpful. The hotel is in central to the town,the sandy beach is about 100 metres to the sandy beach where their are plenty of sun beds and sun shades,the hotels has lifts to take up to your room,there is a large swimming pool with plenty of sun beds and umbrellas,there are plenty shops and bars in easy walking distance,the restaurant is self service with plenty of different types of food,all good,the rooms were cleaned and beds made up every day,there is entertainment most evenings and some at the pool during the day,also aqua aerobics at the pool during the day,this was our second visit to the hotel and we are planning to return next summer
