Viva Blue and Spa

We have not long returned back from 10 nights here as a family of 6 (two rooms one adult, one 15 year old and two adults and two children ages 3 and 9 months) we all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and I’m always keen to share reviews so please see my breakdown below:

Reception/grounds - I had to visit a few times for a few questions and all times I found reception to be kind and helpful. I also emailed prior to our stay and instantly got a response - which was reassuring. Grounds of the hotel were spotless and special shout out to the lovely cleaners who were always so friendly, especially to our baby.

Food/drinks - we decided to upgrade from half board plus to all inc and I found this to be great value for money. Myself and my husband and children are plant based (the rest of our party are not) and we had something substantial to eat each meal, definitely better than previous all inclusive visits in other European countries that’s for sure although, I do feel some dishes could have easily been made vegan ie the bean stew on Mexican night, could have just had beans rather than the additional meat? Especially when most other dishes contain meat egg or dairy. I did also find the food to be quite oily and salty however, that could be personal preference and I do find most buffets like this to be the same. I don’t want to take this away from the fact that the food is great overall with a decent selection, we did also actually have 4+ desserts to pick from most nights - which is unheard of for us! Haha. Drinks, coffee at the bar was good (couldn’t drink coffee in plastic cups at the pool bar - not for me!) and coffee at the restaurant also good, the drinks were great for an all inclusive, decent wines that weren’t from a machine but straight from and ice cold self serve bucket - really great compared to most all inclusives. I also loved the mojitos at the bar and pool bar, very refreshing.

Entertainment - excellent! Everyone works so hard (this goes to all staff at the hotel) and such long hours yet always have the energy and remembered my children’s names which means alot. The kids loved them and they really enhanced our experience so bravo!

Pools - really great. We used all and didn’t feel the need to upgrade to the small selection club pool. The giant bouncy ball was a huge hit - I even used it myself and found my self going back up for more haha! The aqua fit and water matt were brilliant too. Also make the most of the Bali beds only 15 euros a day and very comfy if kids want to nap, you just book the day before at reception. Didn’t have an issue with sunbeds but they do go quick after breakfasts but we did go probably their busiest time!

Area - beautiful beach 5 mins walk, same same shops and restaurants but a few lush ones for coffee or beach drinks near by. Make sure you visit the fruit lady at the beach when she comes, worth the extra £ for delicious juicy mangooo! And fresh coconut water. We did a private taxi to the market on the Sunday and got the bus back. I did find the taxi situation to be odd, the hotel would use majorca version of Uber i guess and it was a hit and miss whether the 6 seater would arrive but to our luck, it did however, I can’t see why the hotel wouldn’t team up with a local taxi firm, surely this would benefit both? But maybe it’s just the area, what do I know! The bus back was very busy but very cheap and easy. I would recommend going very early as the market gets hectic and it’s hard to actually look when it’s that busy, we arrived as they were setting up and it was dead then instantly people arrived at once.

Room - we were barely in our room but no complaints from anyone! I would have preferred housekeeping every day, some days were missed but that’s just because we have messy children and use alot of bin space and towels! Housekeeping always tidied the kids toys away so lovely when they didn’t need to and I really was touched by that, it was like a mothers touch to the room - great when this mama is on her holidays ;-) - thank you llvely ladies!

I wouldn’t usually return twice to somewhere but definitely would return here and recommend. Keep up the good work and I hope you find this review somewhat useful.

We’ve just returned from a 7-night all-inclusive stay as a couple with our 13-year-old daughter, and we had a fantastic time.

The hotel itself is beautiful, with really well-maintained and manicured grounds. You can see how much care and attention goes into keeping everything looking so lovely. The location is also excellent – just a street away from the beautiful Playa de Muro beach, with shops, supermarkets and everything you could need within easy walking distance.

First time ever there was no great early morning race for sun beds on a morning! There was plenty for everyone throughout the day, people had breakfast and grabbed one when they were ready. It made such a massive difference to starting your day! The pools were all clean and well looked after, with plenty of choice. Although our daughter is now a little too old for the pirate slide pool and the big bouncy cushion pool, it was lovely to see the younger children having such a fantastic time enjoying them. The Selection Club pool was particularly lovely, this was our daughters favourite with the day beds making it a really relaxing place to spend the day.

We stayed all-inclusive and thought the food was very good. The poolside food was good, while the main buffet was varied with plenty of choice. Breakfast was excellent too, with lots of different options. We also really appreciated how clearly the different dietary requirements were labelled.

The staff were fantastic throughout our stay – friendly, helpful and professional. In fact, we’d say the staff are what really make this hotel 5-star worthy.

We unfortunately realised on arrival that we had made a mistake with our booking dates, which could have turned into a real problem for us. Zavi on reception was absolutely brilliant. He dealt with the situation with such care and professionalism and resolved it incredibly quickly. We were genuinely so grateful for his help and the speedy way he sorted everything out for us.

We also had a small issue with our apartment door, which was reported and resolved within an hour – another example of how helpful and responsive the staff were.

We stayed in a rooftop apartment, which we really enjoyed. The apartments are lovely, although ours was showing a little wear and tear in one or two areas, particularly around the shower trays and the staircase. This was only a minor point and didn’t take away from our enjoyment of the apartment or the hotel.

Another big positive for us was how quiet the hotel was at night. The entertainment finishes at around 22:15 and the bar clears, with the music off by around 22:30. Despite being a very family-orientated hotel, we found it wonderfully peaceful at night.

Overall, we had a brilliant week. It’s a beautiful, well-kept and very family-focused hotel in a fantastic location, with great facilities, good food and genuinely lovely staff. The service and care from the team really stood out to us and made such a difference to our stay.

We wouldn’t hesitate to return and would definitely recommend this hotel.
