Lovely hotel but sunbeds an issue
We stayed for 10 nights at this hotel as a family of 4 (including a 14yr old and a 16yr old).
As we got off our transfer bus we were immediately greeted by a staff member, who helped take our cases inside and offered us all a drink. We thought this was a nice touch.
The grounds are lovely and well maintained.
We stayed in room 8001, which was at the end of block 8, on the ground floor, and had a view of the pool. Room was clean and there plenty room for all 4 of us. Sofa bed that was able to be folded away during the day was helpful. Lots of storage space for cloths.
Love the fact the hotel have a circular eco ethos. That meant there is a water cooler available that we could fill the carafe from kitchenette, and pop it in fridge to have later. It counts how many plastic bottles they have prevented being used. They use a local farm for meat and try to use ingredients from within a short distance of the hotel.
Food is always going to be a hit or a miss when catering for so many people but we found it to be a good selection. Especially enjoyed the seafood, including lobsters, crab and lagoustines!
Animation team do a lot of the shows themselves, with just the odd one being external and, with that in mind, they were pretty good. Plenty of activities on throughout the day for all ages, including darts, water polo, a taste of mallorca, cocktail making etc.
Location is excellent. It has a path directly to the beach. I hate sand but took some swim shoes and we enjoyed ocean paddles and walk along the beautiful pier a few times. Just beautiful. I did see reviews about the seaweed but in all honesty, it wasn't something the hotel can do anything about. Legally, the government aren't allowed to remove it so it is raked into mounds, dries out, then gets put back into the sea. This helps with the colour we were told. I still thought the beach was beautiful. There are a few shops across the road from the hotel and we also got a bus just across the road, which took about 20mins to take us to alcudia (approx €13 return for all 4 of us).
My only criticisms of the hotel are the food and entertainment is only on a 7 day rotation so if you stay longer, you will get repeats. Maybe a 14 day rotation would be better. The biggest issue for us was that we had to set an alarm every day in order to get sunbeds. Too many people reserving them and then disappearing for hours at a time. There are signs saying not to reserve but they are ignored and not enforced. Beds being reserved as early as 6am. For this reason alone, I wouldn't return, as I don't expect to have to set an alarm on holiday.

Very enjoyable holiday
We've just enjoyed an excellent stay at Playa Garden on an all-inclusive basis. The location is fantastic with direct access to a beautiful beach. We booked a room with outdoor hydro pool which was very enjoyable.
All facilities are great. Food and drinks very enjoyable, with amazing service in the dining room, every visit was good. Credit to Marce and his team, they work so hard to ensure a good experience and meal. Marce manages the dining room excellently, a real professional, even when some people have high expectations! Thanks for making our experience lovely.
Would recommend the hotel for families.
an unpleasant surprise
Overall, we had a mixed experience at this hotel.
The rooms are in need of renovation. The furniture is quite worn and outdated, the windows do not close properly, and we experienced an air conditioning failure during our stay. Another downside, especially for families with young children, is the bathroom design. The bathroom has sliding glass doors, which provide very little privacy and are not particularly practical when traveling with small children.
The food was average. There was enough variety, but the quality and taste were nothing special. The entertainment program was also rather disappointing. Most of the activities and evening shows were conducted mainly in German and Spanish, making it difficult for international guests to fully enjoy them.
On the positive side, the children's splash pool is very attractive and our kids loved it. However, the water was quite cold in the mornings and again in the late afternoon, so they could not enjoy it for very long.
Overall, the hotel has some good facilities, especially for families, but there are several areas that need improvement to justify its rating.
During our stay in June, there was a massive influx of seaweed along the hotel's beachfront. Unfortunately, this meant we were unable to use the beach or enjoy the hotel's direct access to the sea at all.
For our children, the unexpected "morning entertainment" was watching an excavator working from 6:00 a.m. until around 10:00 a.m., collecting the dried seaweed into enormous piles along the beach. While this was fascinating for them, it certainly wasn't the beach holiday we had expected.
We fully understand that the hotel cannot control nature, the tides, or the condition of the sea. However, it would have been appreciated if guests had been informed about the situation during check-in. It would also have been a thoughtful gesture to organize a shuttle service or recommend a nearby beach with better swimming conditions, especially for families with young children.
Instead, the lack of communication, the absence of any alternative solution, and the apparent lack of initiative from the hotel staff made this a very disappointing surprise.

Average resort good for German families with small kids
Playa Garden may work well for German families with very young children, but it was not the right fit for us. The hotel has the feeling of a large kids’ resort, almost like a German kindergarten, with many families with small children.
The rooms are quite tired and would benefit from renovation. The food was acceptable, but not very exciting. Considering the price, I expected a fresher property. The staff is very attentive and evening shows are well performed.
Overall, I would recommend it mainly to German-speaking families with small kids. For other travelers, I think there are better choices in Mallorca at this price point.

Its our second time and we love it
The location is beautiful although the beach was covered with poseidonia. Other aspects were great, food people and rooms amazing.
