Average but would return
We recently stayed at this hotel in Palma and, unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations.
We arrived at 12pm and were informed that check-in wasn’t until 3pm which we didn’t know about and the only option offered was to pay around £300 for an different room if we wanted access before then. While waiting, I noticed the water station in the foyer was empty. When I asked if there was more available so I could refill a small bottle, I was told we couldn’t refill our bottles with the water which didn’t feel particularly welcoming.
The check-in process was also lacking in information. No explanation was given about how to use the lift or where facilities such as the pool, gym or spa were located, leaving us to find everything ourselves.
The room itself was generally fine but the floors were particularly unclean and we had to spend some time cleaning the floor before we felt comfortable. The room has basic furniture but the mini fridge was useful.
We asked for an iron and it came wrapped around the ironing board to prevent people from stealing it I’m guessing, making it impossible and infuriating to use.
The pool area was pleasant enough, with good music throughout the day and complimentary towels for the sunbeds. However, the pool is quite small for the size of the hotel and smoking around the pool wasn’t being monitored which affected the atmosphere for me. Drinks from the pool bar were also very expensive.
The gym was disappointing, as it was extremely hot with no working air conditioning. The floors were absolutely filthy. Similarly, the “luxury spa” felt dated, dingy and uncomfortably warm, which wasn’t the relaxing experience you’d want. I don’t know how they can call it luxury.
On the positive side, the hotel provides Rituals toiletries in the bathroom, which was a nice touch, and the view from our seventh-floor balcony was nice on the left hand side of the building.
We only paid for breakfast and found it to be a very good selection each morning - that was the best bit of the hotel it was super food at breakfast.
Overall, there were some good points but the service, facilities and attention to detail didn’t match the price point. I would probably go back to the hotel though perhaps during a quieter, cheaper time of year.
Very lovely hotel. Great spa! Great restaurant!
Overall, this was a nice hotel experience! It is a huge place, so you might feel a bit like you’re a small fish in a big sea, but it’s still nice. The location is very good, with the harbor right in front of the hotel and tons of restaurants and clubs nearby.
The hotel breakfast buffet is very good! The selection of foods are huge and nice quality.
The room service is very great. The food quality is top notch.
The spa is very nice with an easy scheduling process, lots of treatments and a huge indoor water area you can access if you are using the spa. I had a massage and a hair treatment, and it was very good.
The housekeeping was so great. They were on top of it and cleaned our room every day.
If I had any complaints, it would be that the room is a little bit small and it could be a little nicer. The bathroom in the room isn’t enclosed with glass so if your partner is sleeping and you’re in the bathroom, the light will wake them up.
Also, the pool looked a little gross, so I didn’t go in.
But otherwise, a great experience in Mallorca!

Wonderful trip to Melia Palma Marina
We have just returned from a two night stay at the Melia Palma Marina and from the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff were so attentive. We had booked a Level Sea View room and on arrival we were taken up to the Level lounge to check in. Everything was seamless and our room was ready for us so we were able to check in straight away. The view from our room was amazing and sitting on the balcony looking over the marina was very relaxing. The hotel is ideally situated, 20 mins in a taxi from the airport about a 25 min walk into Palma and the Cathedral but there are bus stops en route along the marina. The staff are a credit to the hotel and Lorena on the level lounge reception was extremely friendly and helpful, she is a real asset. German was also super helpful at check in and having such friendly helpful staff puts you at ease when visiting a new hotel. We would certainly recommend this hotel for a stay in Palma and will hopefully be back to visit in the future.

Superb Stay
We had the pleasure of a three night stay at this beautiful hotel, myself and two teenager kids. The room was amazing, breakfast buffet great and all the staff so helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend The Level, German and all the staff were super attentive and hepful with everything. Thank you all for a great break.
Disappointing for a “Premium” room – very dated and in need of renovation
We booked a Premium room at Meliá Palma Marina at the last minute and unfortunately it did not live up to what we expected from the Meliá brand or from a room being sold as “Premium.”
The main positive is the marina view, which is lovely. However, the room itself is very tired, dated and clearly in need of a full renovation. The furnishings and overall design feel old, and the bathroom was particularly disappointing.
The shower area had visible mildew and the shower leaked water onto the bathroom floor when being used. There was also a noticeable mildew smell in the hotel lobby, which added to the overall impression that parts of the property need much better maintenance and refurbishment.
The beds were also not comfortable, which made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. For us, this was one of the biggest issues, as a comfortable bed should be one of the most basic expectations when staying in a hotel, particularly in a Premium room.
The room also lacks conveniently located power points or USB charging points beside the beds, which makes it feel even more outdated.
The arrival experience was very average. Check-in at reception was underwhelming and there was no concierge or assistance offered with our luggage. For the price being charged and the level at which this hotel is positioned, we expected much better service.
Parking is also €30 per night. Street parking is possible, but spaces are limited and can be very difficult to find.
Unfortunately, because of the condition of the room, the mildew, the leaking shower and particularly the uncomfortable beds, we decided to cut our stay short and leave the hotel early. That really says everything about our experience, as we would not normally leave accommodation we had already paid for unless we were genuinely unhappy with the stay.
Overall, the location and marina view are the strongest points, but the hotel itself feels very dated and overdue for a significant refurbishment. Based on the room we received, we would not stay here again and certainly would not pay the rate we paid for a Premium room.
