Really not impressed with this hotel and highly doubt the four star rating is accurate. We tried to give it the benefit of the doubt at the beginning, even though the room was very basic and not particularly clean, with the floor being very dirty.
Unfortunately, things only got worse during our stay. We discovered thousands of ants in our room, crawling into my suitcase. I was repeatedly bitten during the night and have been left with numerous bites all over my body.
The air conditioning also stopped working one evening, making it impossible to sleep because of the heat and uncomfortable conditions. To make matters worse, the following day there was only freezing cold water available for showering.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. The lack of cleanliness, pest problem, faulty air conditioning, cold water, and poor overall conditions meant that our stay fell far below expectations.
we got here on saturday the 18 and we went to go and get drinks straight away after putting our cases in our rooms then we had to pay two euros for a re usable cup and only get one euro back for them even though it’s all inclusive then for the past two days we have had no hot water so no hot showers just freezing cold water. the only good is that it’s close to loads of shops and other restaurants but we will not be coming back
We booked this last minute and thought with it being a 4 star it would be okay but it absolutely was not okay.
When we arrived the main facilities are lovely and appear in good condition. Our room however was horrific.
We booked a ‘superior room’ for room only but was placed into the self-catering portion of the hotel. We were on the ground floor and our ‘balcony’ consisted of a plastic table and chair set with grass the height of my knee..
We had no working air-con (in 37 degree heat), highlighted this to reception staff on 3 separate occasions and nothing was done about it, filled with empty promises that staff would come to fix it but no one appeared. They gave us 3 fans to us, which were covered in dust… but had to use as that was all that was given to us. You were walking out the room into the heat outside to get a bit of a breeze.
Room was not well maintained. Very dirty. The ‘room service’ consisted of the beds being re-made (unsure if sheets actually being changed), change of towels and bins emptied but no actual cleaning of the room was carried out. Just to mention that it is salt water showers.. unsure if this is the norm for Cala D’Or but was not exactly enjoyable (resulted in a UTI) and my hair is paying for it now. There was also ants everywhere! In the shower, in the bed, crawling along the walls… just awful!
We ended up checking out of the hotel 2 days early and finding alternative accommodation as no one was willing to move us to a room with working air-con, no one was willing to fix the broken air-con and ultimately we just had a very poor experience at this hotel. Can’t comment on the facilities as we didn’t use them.
We booked an all inclusive break for a short holiday and our room was nice with comfortable beds but it was not that clean. However the food at the buffet restaurant was awful. It was on the verge of being inedible, no choice and cold. The worst all inclusive package we have experienced. Only one bar was for all inclusive guests and the choice of drinks was extremely limited. I would definitely say that this is not all inclusive! Some hotel staff were not very friendly. The pool was a bit dirty which was disappointing but we had no problem getting sunbeds which was good. In summary, if you do book this hotel go room only and eat out as there is a good choice of restaurants in the town. Also the local beach is very nice.
Stayed here with my mum and nana. We had a lovely experience from start to finish. Special shoutout to Georgia on reception for being so helpful and friendly. See you all next year!
