This pleasant hotel lies directly in Cala Bona Marina just 100 m from the nearest beautiful sandy beach. Cala Millor with its many shopping and entertainment venues is just 1 km away whilst the nearest links to the public transport network are about 250 m from the hotel. The island's capital town of Palma and the international airport is about 70 km away. The elegant, fully air-conditioned hotel offers 4 floors with a total of 189 rooms. Each of the tastefully decorated apartments comes with a bathroom, a telephone, air conditioning, central heating, a hire safe and a balcony. Guests have access to a fabulous pool and garden complex and facilities include a cosy bar and a restaurant. There is a swimming pool as well as a furnished sun terrace for guests to take advantage of.

Average hotel, air con just blows room temperature air ( not cold) called reception twice they couldn't fix it so gave us a tower fan which was better than the so called air con. Cleaners didn't do a good job cleaning the room. Breakfast like a cattle market, really slow service on the omelette station, one chef cooking need anther person at least. Dirty glasses and cups at breakfast, we stayed half board but did not try the evening rush meal as didn't enjoy breakfast so can't comment. Gym is poor, small pool. Plus side good lactation for supermarkets, bars and restaurants., nice big balcony ( wasn't clenned once during our stay of 4 nights) and mind the step. Decent fridge and free safe in the room. Would not stay again unfortunately.
Mixed views
Came with family and had read the reviews of Trip advisor before coming, all of which were mixed and to be honest could agree with the mixed views. When we arrived we were dropped off at the end of a back road where we were told by the driver (who had little English) that he couldn’t drop us any further due to no cars being allowed to go down the road so we had too walk down to the hotel and on first impressions the hotel didn’t look overly great. On check in staff were very friendly and through out the trip staff were very pleasant. Cleanliness of the hotel and the rooms on the whole were ok, however the pool area in regards to cleanliness wasn’t really up to standard and there was napkins on the floor which hadn’t been cleaned up and one area a drink had obviously been spilt but hadn’t been cleaned up straight away. We opted for the bed and breakfast option when booking, good options for meat eaters and vegetarians with in the group. Cala Bona on the whole as a resort is beautiful with a wide range of restaurants to choose from for lunch and dinner. If I’m honest value for money wise I’ve stayed in better hotels and personally feel the hotel isn’t a four a star but just know this is personal preference.

Relaxing and calm
I was a bit apprehensive after reviews but the hotel was amazing. It was a bit dated but absolutely spotless. We had a Seaview room overlooking the harbour and I can honestly say it was amazing to wake up to. Breakfast was fantastic- everything you could think of was there. Evening meal was ok but always found something. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Pool area was nice but we prefer the beach. TV does have english channels but you have to change settings to default. Definitely come back.

Friendly and welcoming
Having read the reviews before arriving we were all a little worried about what to expect. On first impression yes the reception does smell musty, however the reception staff are all so friendly and helpful. We were able to check in early as our room was ready and the rooms were spotlessly clean. The hotel is quiet and relaxing and although the pool area is smaller than it seams in the pictures we always found sunbeds without the need to go reserving early. Plenty of room to swim and enjoy relaxing in and around the pool. We were haf board and meals were good. There was only 1 evening out of the 4 that we didnt manage to find anything we fancied so ate out. Breakfast is fresh with plenty of fruit, pastries and fresh omelette being cooked. Again staff are friendly and hard working there too . All in all a super stay at this hotel and we would return. Excellent location too just on the harbour.

Our favourite hotel in Cala Bona
We have stayed at the Hotel Catalonia Del Mar many times in recent years. We were there again in June and are returning for our 6th visit in September for another 2 week stay. The Catalonia Del Mar hotel is in a prime location in Cala Bona overlooking the harbour. We just love this hotel. The staff are the best, so friendly and efficient and can’t do enough for their guests. Marek and the reception team are always very welcoming and extremely helpful. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Pedro and his excellent restaurant team go above and beyond, to ensure the restaurant runs smoothly. The food in the restaurant in June was the best it has ever been, with a good selection of hot and cold dishes. It’s a 10 / 10 from us, and highly recommended.
