The Hotel Riu Paraiso Lanzarote is located in south-east Lanzarote, an island that is home to volcanos and beaches of magical colours. It is at Playa de Los Pocillos, just behind the vast beachfront promenade. If you're looking for a 24-hour all-inclusive hotel in Lanzarote, this establishment offers a wide range of services to ensure you enjoy an unforgettable holiday. With a fresh and elegant style, the Hotel Riu Paraiso Lanzarote has over 500 comfortable rooms designed to guarantee a pleasant and relaxing stay on the beachfront. After a good night's sleep, there's nothing better than a good buffet breakfast and a refreshing dip in the pool. The hotel has 4 outdoor pools with a sun deck and 2 children's pools. What's more, some of the pools are heated, making them perfect for the winter season. This hotel at Playa de Los Pocillos guarantees fun for all ages. The little ones will have a great time at the RiuArt workshop where they can bring out their creative side, or enjoy a variety of activities in the RiuLand Kid's Club. We also have some amazing evenings in store for adults, with live music shows and daily entertainment. Our more active guests can train in a fully equipped gym or enjoy fitness activities in RiuFit. After your exercise session, you can pamper yourself and recharge your batteries in the Wellness Body Love centre, where we offer a wide range of body treatments and massages. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind dining experience, the Hotel Riu Paraiso Lanzarote offers a wide variety of options: international dishes and live cooking stations in the main restaurant, Asian dishes in the restaurant Yashima and typical dishes from the Canary Islands in Yaiza. You just can't beat the RIU all-inclusive service, where you can enjoy delicious snacks and grill food by the poolside around the clock at Pepe's Food corners.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
If you like Self Catering, then this is the Hotel for you. We have been to many RIU Hotels, but this is the first one where you have to got to the bar to top up Coffee, Tea, Sugar, Milk and Water for your room! When we go on Holiday, we expect to be looked after. Not having to go fetch items that should be replenished by staff. Having said that, all other parts of Hotel are very good and well organised. All the staff are so happy and courteous. The food in all restaurant was perfect. A big choice of hot and cold very tasty dishes. Could not fault them, as we had something different every day. The food is absolutely wonderful! Our room (05) needs updating. Not the best room we have had at a RIU, chipped cupboard door, badly marked walls, shower leaks onto floor (large gap all the way down the door) no dressing table in bedroom, just a small unit to put suitcase on. Or room was in a central position of the hotel. Ideal for going to either pools and close to gate to beach . We hired a car and explored the island. Looks like this Hotel is in the best area and ideal for the beach. The beach is lovely, with plenty of sun beds. The sea was warm and shallow, you can walk a long was out. Unfortunately, we would not rush back to another Riu Hotel, if the rest are like this one.
We had a mixed experience at RIU Paraiso Lanzarote. On the positive side, the rooms are very spacious and the hotel is absolutely spotless. The housekeeping team does an excellent job, and both the cleaning staff and the gardeners are incredibly friendly and always happy to say hello. Most of the bar staff were also lovely and provided great service.
Unfortunately, the reception staff weren’t particularly welcoming and often came across as quite rude, which wasn’t the best first impression.
The biggest disappointment for us was the food for coeliacs. If you don’t have any dietary requirements, the buffet is perfectly fine with a decent selection. However, the gluten-free options are very poor, and I wouldn’t recommend the hotel to anyone with coeliac disease. This is the main reason we wouldn’t return.
The other major let-down was the entertainment, especially for families. The hotel has two main pool areas. The larger family pool had no entertainment or activities going on at all during the day, which made it feel very quiet. The only entertainment was at the pool near the buffet restaurant, but it’s quite a long walk away, and it’s not practical to drag children back and forth every day just to find something for them to do.
Despite there being a kids’ club advertised, we never really saw any meaningful activities. The entertainment staff would occasionally walk around the family pool smiling at guests, but there was very little interaction with the children and almost nothing organised for them during the day. The only regular children’s activity was a mini disco at 4:30 pm every day, which seemed like a very odd time and is unlike any family hotel we’ve stayed at before. Overall, the children’s entertainment was extremely disappointing.
The hotel has plenty of positives, particularly the cleanliness, spacious rooms, and the friendliness of most of the staff. However, because of the poor gluten-free catering and the lack of proper children’s entertainment, we wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
Absolutely amazing Hotel and staff, food amazing, drinks fabulous and location just right, plenty of sunbeds available but obviously don’t leave it until mid afternoon to try and get one. Cleaners and maids don’t stop and a credit to the hotel as well are the bar staff. Atmosphere great and that’s all down to the entertainment staff who don’t stop. On arrival our room was upgraded so all good, room quite spacious with big balcony. So overall what a great week.
2nd time at hotel, had a great time. staff incredible, entertainment was best I've seen at any hotel. rooms cleaned every day and always found a seat near pool or stages. food was great, can't wait to go back next year. only problem was football taking over main theatre and lobby bars hence 4 not 5 stars. other than that brilliant. wish we'd booked this week instead.
Excellent 7-Day Stay – Highly Recommend!
My wife and I recently returned from a fantastic 7-night stay here, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. From start to finish, the holiday was incredibly relaxing and completely hassle-free.
The Service: Every member of the staff we encountered was warm, welcoming, and attentive. Check-in was smooth, and we felt well looked after the entire week.
Accommodations: Our room was spotless, modern, and very comfortable. It served as the perfect base to unwind after a day in the sun.
Atmosphere & Amenities: The pool areas and grounds were beautifully maintained.
We didn't experience a single issue or complaint during our entire stay. It was exactly the stress-free, peaceful break we were looking for. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to any couples looking for a flawless getaway!
