This was our second visit to the hotel as a family, and we were really looking forward to coming back. The location is perfect, being so close to the beach and just a lovely stroll away from the shops. It’s a great base for a family holiday and we really enjoyed the area. Unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing this time around. On two occasions, the chicken was served raw, and we also experienced some fish that was not properly cooked. This was particularly concerning, and we felt the food quality and variety could definitely be improved. As this is a family hotel, we would also have liked to see more options available for children. The sunbeds were fairly easy to get if you were prepared to wake up before 7am, although we did notice some guests reserving the best spots with parasols as early as 5:30am, which was a little frustrating. One of the highlights of our evenings was spending time at Marco’s Bar opposite the hotel. We had some lovely cocktails there, and the kids absolutely loved the slushies and ice creams. We also had pizza there on our last night, which was really nice. Overall, we still enjoyed our family holiday and love the hotel’s location, but compared with our first visit, we felt that the food and choice could have been much better this time.
The rooms are very basic in terms of décor and furnishings, but they are a really good size, which is one of the things we love about this hotel. We had a one-bedroom room with a sofa bed and a balcony overlooking the pool. For a family, the extra space makes a big difference and we never felt too cramped. The room was cleaned daily, and the floors were mopped by the housekeeping staff, so overall it was kept nice and clean. The air conditioning was unfortunately an issue during our stay, breaking twice. This meant having to keep going back to reception to get it sorted. On one occasion, it broke at around 11pm, by which time the engineers had gone home, so unfortunately there was nothing that could be done until the following day. The new swipe cards are a good improvement. Previously, we had an actual key, so we liked the convenience of the cards. We did hear about an unfortunate incident during our stay where someone’s room had reportedly been broken into and some devices were stolen. We didn’t hear much about the circumstances, as it was mainly something that was being passed between guests in the dining hall, so we can’t comment on the details. However, it was understandably concerning to hear about. The dining hall itself can feel quite cramped, particularly because of the layout of the tables and chairs. We also had one disappointing experience when we arrived for dinner and needed a table for six. On previous visits, staff had always been very happy to move or adjust tables so that our family could sit together. Unfortunately, on this occasion, one member of staff was quite rude and refused to help us. We asked another member of staff, who was absolutely lovely and very helpful, and sorted it out for us without any problem. Thankfully, this was the only negative experience we had with the staff, as the majority were incredibly friendly, cheerful and helpful. Tables are also cleared and cleaned pretty quickly during meal times. The pool bar food was average. They had changed the chicken nuggets since our previous visit, which unfortunately meant our AuDHD son wasn’t happy with the change, but we were able to find something else for him to eat. The drinks are okay but not the best. However, you can ask for a freshly made cocktail rather than having the premixed option, which is definitely worth doing.
On the second day of our stay, we also noticed some syringes with needles and broken glass in a corner close to our room. I reported this to reception straight away, and thankfully it was dealt with promptly — by the time we returned to our room, the area had been cleaned up. Although it was concerning to see, we were pleased with how quickly the staff responded once it was reported.
We hope these areas improve, as we would love to return again in the future.
Great location and a very clean and well-maintained complex. Large pool great and plenty sunbeds, although you get the usual reservers out at 6am or even the night before, armed with their towels. Food in the restaurant was average with not much variety: we wouldn't go all inclusive again as we had to eat out for tea a lot. You’re OK if you like pork. Otherwise a nice apartment overlooking the pool with good facilities.
Spacious and clean rooms, comfy beds, decent food, nice pools, great location, friendly staff We would recommend Floresta apartments if you are looking for a quiet pool/beach holiday with the option of taking various excursions as it's close by to several other main resorts easily accessible by local taxi. Food was decent and varied but plenty of restaurants close by if you fancy a change. Also Spar shop on site for drinks and icecreams if you aren't all inclusive. If visiting again, I would stay here.
We have stayed several times at these appointments. The last four times we have had a pool view. We have always been made welcome by all members of staff, from reception through to the cleaners. Everyone works extremely hard and long days. We are looking forward to returning again in September and have already booked for December. Reception very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, large and spacious. Large clean pool which is easy to walk into. I have problems using the ladders! We haven't used the other pool. Bar staff are friendly and cheerful. Restaurant can get very busy, but tables are cleaned very quickly by the friendly staff. Have always been satisfied with the food. There is a good choice of food for everyone. Handy Spar shop just outside of the hotel. Beech is just a stones throw away. And lovely walks along the front either towards the airport (watch the planes come in over your head!) Or walk the other way into Puerto del carmen and the harbour. Plenty of bars and restaurants within close walking distance of the hotel. Looking forward to our 7th return in September to celebrate my birthday!!
Overall we had a really positive experience at Hotel Floresta but there were a few things that could be done by the hotel to make it 5 stars and really would not be hard to fix with a little effort. I'll list the considerable positives and slight but many negatives.
Positives. It's a superb location next to the beach which is stunning. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is generally very good. The pool areas and communal areas are kept immaculately clean and tidy. The range of drinks is very good. The rooms are great - very spacious and the cleaners do a fantastic job.
Negatives. The entertainment is average. We were there for 14 nights and there were probably 3 good performances headlining, the rest were just a bit naff. The bar music also seems to have the exact same playlist every evening, which was slightly annoying! The hotel specifically tells you on arrival they have a policy to stop people reserving sunbeds with towels however in practice nothing is done to stop people doing this. The hotel also tells you they have a policy for smart dress at evening meal times and no shorts for instance, however this is not enforced whatsoever. A lot of people turn up in very casual dress. On the same theme, the hotel has plenty of don't smoke signs yet plenty of people smoke in those areas with noone prohibiting them from doing so. We have a number of evenings where we (and plenty of other people) had issues with water ranging from no hot water in the evening to no water on one evening. I hope this was a one off exceptional thing. The hotel WiFi internet is awful. Really low speeds and poor coverage. These negative things are all quite minor individually but they do add up. I'll underline, we had a great time!
