Surrounded by tropical gardens, the modern beach hotel Hipotels La Geria is situated first line to the beautiful, broad sandy beach and the crystal-clear waters of Pocillos. The centre of the tourist resort Puerto del Carmen as well as the Lanzarote Golf Resort are just a few minutes away by car, and the impressive Timinfaya National Park can be reached within a short drive. The international airport is also just a few minutes away. The excellent hotel offers wonderfully appointed rooms with a clean, modern decoration. Features include WIFI, air-conditioning, satellite-TV and a balcony or terrace. The hotel has a fantastic pool landscape with a large pool, surrounded by palm trees and terraces with sun loungers and parasols. There is a children's pool and a playground, as well as a gym, a sauna, a diving school and free WIFI in the lobby. This is a perfect hotel for couples or families with children wishing to spend a nice holiday under the sun.
I haven’t personally stayed at the hotel, but some friends of mine – a retired English couple – invited me to lunch at the buffet. Personally, I absolutely loved the hotel. We had a lovely meal and the service from all the staff – from reception to the waiters and chefs – was professional, attentive, very polite and the place was spotlessly clean. My friends were delighted with everything: the room, the restaurants, the spa… They come to Lanzarote every year and this was the first time they hadn’t stayed in the centre of Puerto del Carmen. They chose this hotel because it’s situated right at what you might call the end of Puerto del Carmen and the start of Matagorda. As they’d hoped, it’s a location that combines all the advantages of Puerto del Carmen in terms of amenities, without its drawbacks (noise, parking problems, dirt, etc.), alongside the tranquillity and authenticity of Matagorda. What’s more, they discovered that Matagorda is becoming the new trendy spot in Lanzarote. In short, it’s a luxury hotel with the wonderful Los Pocillos beach right on its doorstep, peaceful, with all the amenities one could wish for (swimming pool, spa, etc.) and offering outstanding standards of quality and service in an unbeatable location on the island.
A lovely sized hotel not too big and not too small. The pool and hotel is impeccably clean. Housekeeping is daily. Food of high quality and desserts are delicious. Sun beds available from 9am and plenty to go around. We hired a sun lounger bed for €70 a week - well worth it. Entertainment enjoyable at 9pm and hotel is quiet after 11pm. With activities through out the day, archery, darts, mini golf, percussion, stretching and aqua aerobics with the fabulous Edward. Beach just over the road with easy access. Great choice of bars and restaurants a short walk away. As 3 female we felt very safe. Management Christopher and Rita always available to make your holiday that little more special. We would return to this hotel.
We have just returned from a 3 week visit to La Geria. We had visited before and once again everything was just perfect. We arrived at 21.00 hrs after a slight delay with our flight and the reception staff were lovely,we always book direct with the hotel so we were asked if we would like to have dinner first and then check in which was so thoughtful. When we returned to the reception after dinner we signed in and our cases had already been taken to our room which was another lovely gesture. We were in room 136 which we had stayed in before which is a garden room overlooking the beautiful pool area. The room was so clean and we had a welcome back bottle of wine which was lovely the housekeeping team do an amazing job every day everything so well cleaned. The dining room is lovely and immaculate, we were on half board, the breakfast was lovely so much choice and all very tasty, the evening meal was wonderful and the menu was different every night, we loved the garlic rabbit and the goat meat in fact all the food was delicious, the staff in the restaurant were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble, the restaurant was run by Jordi and his team and he was such a lovely guy also a shout out to Tomas, Roger, Patrick and Angela who looked after us so well. The pool area was so clean infact a team cleaned it every day to a very high standard. The sunloungers were very comfortable and we had no trouble getting one. We used the pool bar at lunch time for drinks and we loved the Sangria the staff at the pool bar were also so wonderful especially Virginia, Fatima who we knew from our visits to Natura Palace also Bienvieto ( might not have spelt that right) to be honest all the staff were lovely and they worked so hard. We met Rosa who is the hotel manager and she truly is a wonderful lady she was always available if we had any requests and on our last day she met with us to say goodbye. Rosa you do an amazing perfect job and lead a wonderful team. It was so nice to meet and have a catch up with Rita again a lovely lady who is so friendly and welcoming. We are hoping to return in October. Thank you to everyone for such a perfect stay we just loved it.
The hotel was lovely and exceptionally clean, everywhere. Housekeeping / maintenance / gardeners were very efficient and effective in maintaining the up keep of the communal areas. The location of the hotel was perfect for us, in that it was situated in a quiet location, yet 10 minutes in a taxi from the airport. All staff were amazing and very helpful, from reception to catering, from bar staff to snack bar and pool area (lifeguard). The pool area was kept very clean throughout the day, however, some heating of the pool would have been appreciated. There is no heating whatsoever which meant the pool wasnt busy at any time! There was never a time when we couldn't get a sunbed by the pool, there were always plenty available. Bring pegs for towels to be secured to sunbed due to the wind! The snack bar and pool bar was lovely with great variety. The ice cream machine was a lovely touch but was broken for a few days, but replaced during our stay with a brand new one. The entertainment at night was a nice touch. Some acts were better than others, but still entertaining. It was great to sit at the bar to enjoy the entertainment, or equally sit on our balcony. Music stopped by 22.30 hours each night, which was no problem at all. The air conditioning in the rooms could do with some upgrading as it was completely ineffective and didnt drop below 25°C. We did have to leave this on all night to be able to sleep. A nice little touch was a huge selection of books / lending library near to reception. Great idea! Would definitely stay here again.
Lovely hotel, staff are great and the place is very well kept
The AI music that plays for the water activities is absolutely horrendous and completely ruins the relaxing/chilled experience. I appreciate they are trying to create a bit of energy for the water sports, but use real music, not terrible AI generated songs. If it wasn’t for that, I’d have no complaints about the place.
