Lackluster Lanzarote

Location is okay. 30 minute walk from main bars on the strip. Some staff are lovely some are very rude and do not come across welcoming or engaging. The overall atmosphere is calm and yh that's about it. The pool is good, however extremely strict rules are followed ONLY when the "LIFEGUARD" is working. When he wasn't around, the pool was so much more fun. Rooms are extremely outdated on design with everything ugly wooden. Freezer didn't work. Nothing to clean dishes with therefore ants got in. Cleaners somehow managed to break in despite the latch being locked (genuinely don't know how). TV doesn't work. You have to ask for anything you want e.g., toaster and hairdryer and have to return on the same date, or else. Barely any plugs especially in rooms. What we once thought was a good deal became pretty average or poor. Now onto the food. This food is barely edible. Everything is bland. The meet is all bone. Our group of 4 barely ate here and avoided it as much as we could. If it wasn't for SPAR's noodles, we may not be here today to tell the tail. We will not be returning under any cost unfortunately. However, shout out to the expressionate and enthusiastic desk staff member, who was very helpful and made the experience more pleasant, as well as the always smiling, dark haired lady who worked all across the hotel.

After writing all this, a fellow roomsharer enlightened me they had to take a chair EACH from the TABLE in the KITCHEN to EACH BED SIDE so we had a bed side table for anything you need to charge. Also the other plug socket in the room is behind the WARDROBE.

Not for vegeterians

I wouldn't stay at this hotel again. The apartment had old furniture, but that didn't bother me. I also didn't mind that there was no Wi-Fi—these days, that's something you can easily work around.

What we really loved was the beach. It was quiet, never overcrowded, and there was always plenty of space to relax. We visited beaches all over the island, but we kept coming back to this one because it was so peaceful and much less crowded. We truly enjoyed spending our time there.

What did bother me was the housekeeping. On our first day, we didn't get to our room until 1:00 a.m. because our flight was delayed. Despite that, the cleaners were ringing our doorbell at 8:00 the next morning. Why would you come that early? We hadn't even had a chance to use the towels yet. They came very early every day, and no matter how many times we explained that we were on holiday and liked to sleep until around 9:00 a.m., it didn't seem to make any difference.

As for the food, if you're a vegetarian, you will NOT eat well at this hotel. Breakfast was fine—pretty standard, and there were enough options for vegetarians. Dinner, however, was meat prepared in every imaginable way. The only vegetarian choices were boiled vegetables and salads. It simply wasn't worth paying for half board.

There was also one waiter in the restaurant who was extremely rude. Our family didn't usually have breakfast together. I tend to wake up earlier than everyone else, so I always went first, while the other two members of my family came later. Every single morning, this waiter would come over to me and loudly tell me, in front of the entire restaurant, that I wasn't allowed to take food out of the restaurant. Every day I explained that the other two members of my family were simply coming later and that we were three guests—we just didn't eat at the same time. He kept insisting that I would be charged extra if I took anything out. I honestly don't understand why he never confronted the British guests, who often seemed to be his favourites, perhaps because they tipped him. Instead, he appeared to single out other guests.

GREAT HOTEL HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Great hotel. I’d be back in a heartbeat. Me and my friend (we’re both early 20s, so minimal budget) paid £300 for 5 nights , half board. Feel like we got more than we paid for!!

Firstly, pool is big!! Average uk swimming pool size.

Food is REALLY GOOD, 10/10. Breakfast: However for the brits reading.. some morning the fry ups were a bit poor- just sausage , egg and mushrooms, but other mornings it was bacon, egg, beans and was much nicer. Dinner: DELICIOUS. Stuff for everyone. I even ate goat and rabbit (for those more adventurous with food), was SUPERB. Everything was cut to perfection. The meat practically fell off the bone.

Staff- LOVELY. Raquel at the bar- she was such a sweetheart, deserves a pay rise for her lovely customer service skills.

Hotel residents - a big European melting pot; mainly Germans and Irish, a few Spanish, Italians and a few Brits.. although when me and my friend left on the Sunday to go home, the hotel was 50% English (a flight must’ve just got in at the weekend). You can tell it wasn’t a big English hotel because the breakfasts weren’t 10/10. But a lovely mix of Europeans for those looking for that.

The rooms; big, spacious, balcony also spacious, beds comfy, bathroom big also… Me and my friends room was practically on the beach. We were 10 steps away from the sand and had a full sea view (that we didn’t pay for)!!!!

Location: ideal. 45 minute walk to the centre of purto del carmen, or a €4 taxi drive. The town was also great on night life, shopping etc.

Negatives: -the locks on the rooms (our room at least) didn’t feel the most secure. -there was some spotting of ants in our kitchen and bathroom ; nothing major, but we made sure to put our food in the fridge - and then we didn’t see them again. -there was some stains on the curtains and the furniture wasn’t the most luxury.. but at the end of the day for such a good price hotel you’re not gonna get ‘luxury’.

Lanzarote cons: -the island was extremely windy!!! avoid the beach unless you want to be covered head to toe in sand

All in all I would 100% recommend this hotel for people looking for a lower budget but GREAT hotel.

Fantastic stay

The mother and I arrived at this hotel having never been before and after reading all the reviews on how bad the rooms are (dated wise ) was skeptical, but we walked through the door into the reception area and greeted by such a lovley man on reception extremely friendly and helpful. We got to our apartment ground floor and had a nice big balcony and the room was spotless and spacious yes its dated but who cares about the decor along as its clean which it was and the beds were so comfortable no complaints at all.

The only thing we didnt know and didn't like was the drink service at dinner , we tried to pay for our drinks as you do and the lady in the dining area told me she couldn't speak English so that was very difficult to try and understand whats happening with drinks at dinner , we just wanted to pay as you go like you do , but this hotel you have to pay the bill at the end a tab , we didn't like that at all. The food at dinner was limited but there was something. LOCATION. Its in a fantastic location beach right over the road a very long promenade to walk either way and lots of bars , shops and restaurants a short stroll away . We would definitely return to this hotel :)
