All was very good, persons are frendly
4th Visit
Just returned from our 4th visit at this hotel. Having visited on numerous occasions, we knew what to expect and pleased to say everything was the same as our previous visits. We stayed for 1 week on a half board basis however we chose not to bother using the restaraunt at all this time due to the food not being the best on our previous visits and we ate out everyday instead. We choose this hotel for its location. Right on the seafront and close to amenities. Rooms were always cleaned and fresh towels provided. We used the spa which was lovely. Once again i had emailed ahead to ask that we were allocated the same room as last time as the sea view we had was lovely and once again the hotel delivered and actually gave us a room with another better view. They have now done that on 2 separate visits and long may it continue. Thank you so much! Another nice touch as returning guests was a basket of fruit, however we didnt get chance to eat it. Maybe a bottle of wine next time? 😀 and also a letter from reception inviting us to meet with guest relations who would cater to anything we needed. Really nice touch but not needed as everything was satisfactory. The only negative was towels round the pool very early so all the good spots were already taken by the time we decided to go to the pool. Maybe someone should be keeping a better eye on this and removing towels that are clearly not being used however it didnt put us off and not really the hotels fault that guests are selfish. With that in mind, we would definately stay here again as we love matagorda and cant beat the hotel for a lovely base. Hope to see you next year!

Great time!
Great hotel! This was our second time coming and we really loved it again. We decided to do all inclusive this year and that was so much better. The room was clean and tidy, and we loved our sea view! Will definitely go back again. Staff all so helpful

Excellent family holiday
After reading some very negative reviews I felt compelled to let you know of my experience. The hotel is tired and a bit shabby in places but was extremely clean. The location is opposite a lovely beach and although you feel you can reach out and touch the planes they didn’t bother us . Actually we’re talking point. The food for a buffet was really good fresh fish and meat plenty salads and deserts . Something for everyone. Even a 6 and 2 year old. We were half board but were able to swap dinner for lunch which was great .We didn’t use the kids clubs but they were available. The main pool was heated which made such a difference for everyone enjoying . This is a good value family hotel.

Not for me :-(
Not for me I'm afraid and not 4 star. Travelled with my brother and his wife as they had visited a few years before and found it fine but were also disappointed in the decline. I had a superior double it was OK a bit more modern but furniture peeling in areas albeit the maids did visit daily with fresh towels but still pretty basic for a superior, it's just a dated hotel that needs to be brought up to modern standards again no tea/coffee supplies if you fancied a coffee on the balcony before breakfast, no USB sockets or many sockets at that in the room. My room was located in what I can only describe as a concrete jungle, the paint work around the floors dirty as was the floors, room doors missing paint. just poor standards it's obvious to the eye areas that need a repaint. The pool area has plenty of beds but again the whole pool area could do with a deep clean/power wash, lounger chairs dirty, pool had a coating of scum around top end, the whole pool area needs blasted, the cleanest area was at the bar seating area. We went all inclusive and wish we had not bothered food very average/basic, drinks are a local brand and not great, and 1 euro required for a cup which to be fair I did not mind as it reduced any rubbish around the pool and they would give you a fresh cup if you asked, a brownie point for this initiative in reducing the plastic cup waste which resulted in little to no litter being left at the pool. We ended up eating out each night and then started to skip lunches/breakfast for an outside place too. For such a large hotel with various bar/food areas it seemed to have only one area open at a time, more so the bar during the day you could only have drinks at the pool bar. Never saw the al a carte open during our stay. We did not visit the Sport Bar but it did look the nicest bars in the hotel but it's not included in all inclusive which is bizarre.
Won't be back but if you do not pay over the odds for this place you can make do if you have the sun on your back but overpriced for what I paid. I'll be sticking to Playa Blanca next time as Matagorda in a number of areas also needs an upgrade albeit the promenade and beach areas are lovely for walk and we did have some lovely meals. The Tapas place in the square is lovely bit more expensive than the others around the square but the food was delish.
