This wonderful beach hotel is located in the bustling tourist centre of Playa Blanca. The hotel is located a mere 300 metres away from the nearest pebble beach, while the Timanfaya volcano, Janubio salt works, Ajaches Nature Park and the renowned Papagayo beaches are to be found in close proximity. Guests can relax and unwind in perfect rapture amidst the intrinsic beauty of the surroundings. This charming hotel welcomes visitors with warm hospitality and excellent service. The guest rooms are tastefully decorated, inviting guests into a cocoon of peace and serenity in which to enjoy restful slumber at the end of the day. Guests can avail of the excellent leisure facilities the hotel affords, and can enjoy an energetic game of tennis or an invigorating workout in the gym, followed by a refreshing swim in the pool.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Absolutely fabulous. Was a bit doubtful after reading some reviews but whoever wrote bad reviews about papagayo needs to give their head a wobble. Amazing rooms food everything was brilliant. The staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Definitely will be back. For an unforgettable holiday, visit mirador papagayo 😍
We’ve just returned from our second visit to the Mirador, having stayed here last August too, and overall we had another lovely stay.
We stayed in the family annexe and found the room spacious and comfortable, with a lovely view overlooking the family pool. We particularly enjoyed sitting out on the balcony in the evenings.
The hotel has had some renovations since our last visit, particularly in the restaurant and pool bar, and we thought these improvements made a real difference. The addition of the robots was also a fun touch — the children absolutely loved them!
There were a few little imperfections, though. The handrail near the main pool was still wobbly, just as it was last year. This is a little concerning given how slippery things can be around the pool, and it would be good to see this properly fixed.
The food was a bit hit and miss, although I think that’s fairly typical of most all-inclusive resorts. We certainly didn’t go hungry, and the children always managed to find something they enjoyed.
The staff really are a credit to the hotel. They work incredibly hard and are consistently friendly and welcoming. The children especially loved the kids’ club and the entertainment. A special shout-out to Michael, who was absolutely fantastic and really helped make the holiday special.
And, of course, the views are stunning and remain one of the biggest highlights of this hotel.
Overall, we enjoyed our return visit and would definitely consider coming back again.
First time at this hotel and can honeatly say was a fantastic holiday. Micheal and all the entertainment team were fantastic micheal brought fun and laughter especially at bingo (more prizes). All the staff are friendly and happy food there is a variaty some good and bad nights. Stayed in a junior suite which was fantastic. Hotel was clean and tidy some areas could do with a lil attention but nothing to complain about. Kids disco every night is great and evening entertainment can be hit and miss depending what you like. Local arena with market is great and the walk along the promanard is lovely aswell. Overall great family holiday.
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Papagayo, and the staff were consistently friendly, welcoming and helpful. However, one person who really stood out to us was Andrew.
Location- perfect if you want to be out of the hustle and bustle of the main part of Playa Blanca and about a 45 min walk to the main part which is along a beautiful scenic walk. A beach is a short walk approx 5 mins but has a rocky entrance so not ideal with little ones but nice and peaceful if you want to enjoy the beach. Would recommend the ferry trip to Fuerteventura- we got a taxi to the port then paid for it there. Hotel were great at organising the taxi. There is also a bus stop at the end of the road and you can change at the bus station to go to Puerto Del Carmen which we did also and that was a lovely day out with a big shopping centre and plenty to do for kids with a soft play area and trampolines on the roof top terrace.
Food- all inclusive option is what you would expect- lots of variety and something for everyone and I think it’s important to remember it is always going to be a different standard to a restaurant. My little one loved the robot that comes and clears the plates! A fun feature for food time and made each trip exciting for him! Drinks available all day a good mixture of soft drinks and alcoholic drinks. Only real disappointment was ice lolly availability- there wasn’t any which is a first for an all inclusive for me. There were just these little pots of ice cream available in the freezer which isn’t ideal if your child doesn’t like ice cream. Usually ice lolly’s would be included but it cost 3 euros if you wanted one and they never actually had any in stock when asked. Plates were nearly always filthy and ended up looking for a clean one on most meal times. Maybe invest in a better dishwasher as the glasses were similar.
Pools- they were a bit dirty at times with lots of bits and bobs floating about which was not great. Seemed to get a bit worse towards the end of the week. The smaller pool had tiles cut underneath and I cut a chunk out of my toe which was not great. Needs looking at as I have seen similar comments. My son did hurt himself and they were great in helping. He slipped on the wet floor so no fault of the hotel as it’s a pool area and sometimes can’t be helped. People were reserving pool beds and not using them and the hotel does nothing about it- very frustrating but seems to be a common theme in most hotels. This should be addressed though and towels removed if people are not using them within a reasonable timeframe.
Spa- absolutely gorgeous and a must! Book early to avoid missing out on the treatments as they get booked up quickly.
Staff- brilliant and couldn’t fault them at all. Kind, friendly and approachable.
Rooms- my other family members were in pool view rooms and they were clean and great. So close to the pool so it made it easy to have a base and be able to use the pool. My room was sea view and was a beautiful view however there were ants and the air conditioning didn’t work properly in any of the 3 rooms. The heatwave can’t be blamed. It looks like an outdated system and needs sorting as it’s unbearable in the heat and also having the ants meant I couldn’t keep the door open. I complained to reception and they were brilliant about it and offered to move my room so I can’t complain about that. I used the spray they got me and the did clear up so made the decision not to move as we were close to family and the spray worked. The first day we had no maid visit and my other family did. Reception apologised and made sure we got the daily clean from then as advertised. The safe in the room didn’t work and they offered to send an engineer in the evening but we were out on the evenings and decided not use it in the end.
Kids mini disco and entertainment was fantastic (if you have kids) This would be better outside each night as they did do this on one of the evenings and it was so much better.
All in all the hotel is good probably not 4 star with the rooms, and cleanliness but nether the less we had a lovely week in the sun and the staff do a brilliant job including the reception.
