This welcoming bungalow complex is situated in the tourist area only 300 m from the Pebble Beach of Las Coloradas, 800 metres from the Playa de Papagayo and about 3 km from Playa Dorada. In the surroundings you can find shops and businesses. The Centre is 3 km. also, at your disposal is the room service and medical care. It offers a wide selection of national and international brand drinks.
We booked Bocayna Village at the last minute in early July, just a few days before departure. I travelled with my wife and our youngest two children (11 and 13).
We were looking for somewhere to relax for a week, and Bocayna delivered exactly what we needed.
We stayed half board and found both breakfast and evening meals to be excellent. A cooked breakfast followed by a croissant or two, some fresh fruit and good coffee was the perfect start to each day. In the evenings, the à la carte options gave us the chance to try some dishes we hadn’t experienced before, while the plentiful buffet provided plenty of choice and complemented the main courses perfectly.
The spacious rooms were a real highlight and felt more like our own mini villa than a typical apart-hotel. The two bathrooms were incredibly convenient with four people getting ready, and the kitchen was very well equipped. The hot tub on the terrace, combined with a cold beer after a run, was a fantastic way to relax.
The staff were exceptional throughout our stay. From arrival, we were made to feel very welcome, almost like VIP guests. The reception team were friendly, knowledgeable and always happy to help, while the restaurant and bar staff were equally courteous and attentive.
I have seen the lack of evening entertainment mentioned as a criticism. Personally, I really appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and was delighted there was no onsite entertainment. As someone who can struggle with sleep, the quiet evenings were a real bonus. A game of pool and a glass of wine was the perfect way to wind down.
The large pool area was excellent and the hotel-provided towels were another welcome bonus. The lifeguard was helpful and, when my 11-year-old got a little overexcited with her pool splashing, he handled it in a friendly and respectful way.
The nearest supermarket is only a five-minute walk away, open until 10pm, and well stocked with essentials — including Lays, San Miguel and red wine!
The beautiful Playa Mujeres beach is around a 15-minute walk away, with a choice of rocky paths to explore. Google Maps makes the route easy to follow, but trainers are definitely recommended.
Taxis are cheap, reliable and easy to use. We paid around €4 to the Marina, €5–€6 to central Playa Blanca and €7 to the waterpark. Being slightly away from the centre actually felt like an advantage, as it allowed us to enjoy the peace and quiet while still having easy access to everything when we wanted it.
What was supposed to be a quick last-minute getaway turned out to be so much more — a truly excellent experience. We would happily return to Bocayna Village.
Food chose lacking. Having to sit on an evening outside, with cold wind. No entertainment, but we knew that, very quiet.
Just returned home after our holiday. We had a loverly stay. The rooms are spacious just little touch ups needed, but the outside more than make up for that. Outside is massive, room for sunbeds and seating. We also had the plunge pool which was great. Fantastic views. It would have been nicer if the wood slats above your head on patio were taken down on one side to get more sunshine on the sunbeds. The hotel is quiet. But we liked the peace. Only bar is the pool bar which is outside seating so depending on time of year maybe too cold. The staff are fabulous always friendly and helpful. No rush for sunbeds I was often on my own at 8.30am. We went all inclusive and had no problems with the food. Standard for breakfast and lunch. Evening meal is a little different you get 5 choices and pick one it’s then cooked and brought out where then you go to the buffet. If not there’s pasta, pizza etc in the buffet. We liked it and it slowed down the meal almost like going out for a meal. Good WiFi in public areas. Could never get it to work in bungalow. If you have mobility issues there’s quite a few steps although they do have slopes, slightly steep. There’s a short walk to supermarket, bars and restaurants. Marina about 5 minutes drive in taxi and around €5. Overall clean and quiet. A peaceful chilled holiday. If you want something livelier this is not for you.
What a great place, location was great, you can get tour coaches to go anywhere on the island, the building could have done with a bit off a tlc but you can't fault the staff they were very helpful and go out of there way for you. The place itself was lovely and clean, small complex lovely and quiet. Supermarket 5 min walk , bus stop just down the road . The views were fantastic , we would stay here again.
Excellent stay - our bungalow was huge with a pool, rooms were very clean and very well equipped. We were all inc. And the Food and drink offered was very good. It was very quiet, no queues - maybe too quiet at night as there was no entertainment - however, there are some bars / restaurants 5mins away, Rubicon Marina is a 25min walk and Playa Blanca @ 45mins walk. However, there is a bus stop near the hotel and the buses run regularly into Playa Blanca- taxis are very cheap - @ 8 euros to PB - so getting around is easy. It is also up a slight hill which may not be suitable for some people but we didn't find it a problem. The Biggest plus was the staff - they were outstanding and always willing to help eg - we arrived very late at night and Jessica on reception had put some food and drink in our room for us. Ideal place if you just want to relax and have a peaceful, quiet holiday.
