It was our third holiday in the last 3 years at the Dreams now known as Grand Hyatt hotel. We didn’t notice many differences from our last visit. Our room after negotiation on arrival was lovely and what we had expected. The cleanliness is very good I fact I’m sure our towels were changed twice daily sometimes which has never happened anywhere else we have stayed. The restaurants are all very good. We were grand club customers so we love the Elysian pool area but wish the lifeguard would have paid more attention to his job than his phone one day he spent at least 50 mins talking loudly to someone. My husband rescued an elderly man who was with his wife he had slipped and couldn’t get up off the floor when leaving the pool. Your hotel has first class staff who cannot do enough for your guests Eric and his brother Lachlan and lovely Barbara and Isabella were all so helpful and kind. Please thank them for us. Carry on the good work stay competitive and we will be back.
Rooms were lovely, spacious and clean. Towels, robes, slippers, toiletries to name but a few of the extras. Our package has a minibar and a lovely coffee machine which also dispensed hot water for tea. Spacious balcony too. Air conditioning smelt a bit fusty which also made our clothes smell a little which was our only negative of the room. All areas of the hotel were clean and in good order and mostly smoke free. The pools which although looked and smelt clean, were all in need of repairs. The hotel was very quiet considering how many people were staying there. It was bliss. Perfect location to beach, marina, shops and bars and for the ferry terminal for a trip to another island. Staff were very helpful and friendly and always smartly dressed. All in all we had a great stay and would return.
We absolutely loved our stay! The hotel is beautiful, with lush greenery, lovely pools, great bars and spacious, spotless rooms. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and a special mention to Dylan, who made activities like archery and shooting so much fun.
The food was amazing, including the restaurants you can book through the hotel’s brilliant mobile website. It’s so easy to use, with everything from hotel information and events to restaurant bookings and room service all in one place.
Photos online really dont do the hotel justice.
A perfect stay from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back next year and bringing our family!
Here right now….(and been before) only came due to availability, familiarity and travel circumstances.
The hotel is still pretending to be a 5 star…4 at best.
The hotel has some good features, sea frontage (even though no direct beach access - a lovely beach is only a 3min walk away), there are sanded areas which make you feel connected to the sea/beach, spacious grounds, staff in general are nice, clean and tidy spaces, rooms are well apportioned (probably the best part of the hotel), music/atmosphere well apportioned in the pool areas (when we came last time it was like a rave in the main pool).
For me it’s about the basics and on this occasion it was a service issue before arriving to the availability of loungers.
As with most hotels there is a lounger policy, and like most hotels they don’t follow it. We’re not 7am wakers to bagsy a space. No loungers by 10am in the main areas where most kids want to be. Where the kids slides are there is no hope unless you reserve one. There’s actually quite a lot of space near the main pool but by far not enough loungers. I heard in peak times people are on the floor (very 5 star like!). Seen people carrying loungers from different areas. No offer of help.
Front of house reception I feel a sense of uselessness or it’s not my problem mate. I tried to arrange a short notice private transfer as my flight was rescheduled at late notice and was met with a 72hr notice policy to book, I was told to take a taxi or Google it. A 3 star hotel ordered me a KFC before so not sure what the issue was here. Got to the hotel after finding a local transfer with minutes before take off to find 3 receptionist stood there playing the piano.
Hotel has potential but is lost in deciding what it wants to be. There’s not a big enough programme for kids (they need to realise this and not believe in what they have). Entertainment at night is tailored towards the repeat old timers. Food is well below the standard you expect. Breakfast closes at 10.30. I think 11am is better especially as a perk for Grand Club members.
One star for us as it’s just a glorified B&B, or Bed as the breakfast is bed. Had the buffet dinner one night last time we came for £100 and again I think they need to revisit their strategy here.
Terrible for us but could be amazing for you.
Kelly, the lovely black haired lady at the buffet entrance, was very kind and helped us get gluten free bread. The buffet food was delicious! We also had a wonderful experience at NAO thanks to the amazing service from the supervisor with light hair and a blue jacket, possibly named Alma or Alba. Great food and excellent service!😘😘😘😘
