Vitalclass Lanzarote SPA and Wellness Resort

We are 2 couples recently returned from a 6 day break at this hotel. After reading some of the reviews we were rather concerned about what to expect, yes, the pool area is a tired and some of the furniture definitely needs replacing but the sunbeds really are comfortable and clean and I’m sure from our experience staying here that the hotel will address any issues in the coming months and perhaps refurnish the poolside areas. However, we found the restaurant spotless and the food offering plentiful with lots of variation there certainly is something to suit every taste, the bread was fresh every day the bakery and pastries area was first class with so much choice . Drinks were not watered down, in fact the opposite, as measures were generous and plenty of choice and the bar staff both poolside and indoor bar were friendly and fun in particular Pollo who was always smiling and laughing in fact all the staff were welcoming and reception staff very helpful Our rooms were fantastic more like an apartment and again spotlessly clean, air conditioning worked and rooms were also equipped with ceiling fans. Although the hotel is a little away from main town the hotel has a free taxi service into the centre a couple of times in the morning and a taxi back you sort yourselves but so cheap at around 5 euros, there is also a bus stop which we did not use and of course you can always walk which we understand takes about 25 minutes. All in all for what we paid it was great value for money , we enjoyed our week and would consider returning.

We stayed here for 10 days and, unfortunately, came home feeling very disappointed with our overall experience. On our very first night, we were shocked to find two cockroaches in our room. When we raised this, we were simply given cockroach spray, which we didn't feel was an adequate response to the situation. We also felt that the hotel didn't really live up to the four-star standard we were expecting. The pool had broken tiles, which was disappointing to see, and the food was very repetitive, with pretty much the same options every day. For a hotel advertised as four-star, we expected a better overall standard of maintenance and more variety when it came to the food. We found the entertainment disappointing too, and one member of the entertainment team a young girl in particular seemed quite difficult to approach. She rarely came over to speak to us, which made it harder to feel included and enjoy that part of the holiday. However, the most upsetting part of our stay happened on the second-to-last day, when we noticed that our bags had been opened and money, along with some of my partner's belongings, was missing. We reported this to reception, but the response we received was, "How do you know it was definitely stolen? Do you have proof?" We found this response upsetting, as we were reporting a serious concern and expected it to be handled with more understanding and care. The following day, as we were due to go home, we spoke with the reception manager, who checked the records of who had entered our room. Although a couple of people had been in there, we felt that the matter was quickly brushed aside when it was suggested that one person had worked there for a long time and therefore it was unlikely to have been them. In our opinion, length of service shouldn't automatically rule anyone out, and we didn't feel that our concerns were properly investigated or that we were given any reassurance about what had happened. What made this particularly disappointing was the lack of an apology or any real sense that the situation was being taken seriously. We understand that without evidence it may not be possible to establish exactly what happened, but we would have expected a more sympathetic response, a proper investigation and better communication from the management team. I hadn't initially intended to leave a review, but once we were home and had time to reflect on everything, we felt it was important to share our experience. From the cockroaches on our first night, the broken pool tiles and repetitive food, to the missing belongings and the way our concerns were handled, the overall experience fell well below our expectations of a four-star hotel. Sadly, we came home feeling upset and disappointed rather than relaxed and happy after our 10-day break. We feel there is room for improvement in the hotel's cleanliness, maintenance, food variety, entertainment and, most importantly, the way guest complaints are handled. We hope management takes this feedback seriously, as no guest should leave a holiday feeling that their concerns have been brushed aside.
