Not five star
Have just returned from a weeks stay at Secrets Lanzarote, and after selecting this resort from the glowing reviews, we were left somewhat disappointed. This is not in my view a five star resort, we were “all inclusive” but some options were not available to us unless you are a “preferred” guest for which their is a premium to be paid, that said I would say that for the “extras”on offer I am glad we did not entertain that option. This hotel has more rules and regulations than you can throw a stick at, you can’t lunch at two of the restaurants but you can have dinner there ?! Very odd. The buffet restaurant has a strange system where you normally have to queue to register your card and be shown to your table, only for the queue to extend whilst this is taking place. I did go and sit at a table whilst my husband registered the all inc card only to be “told off” for doing so, not what I want as an adult or a paying guest. The pool bar is not fit for purpose no coffee or snacks available only certain cocktails and 1 beer option. There is a coffee bar up 2 flights of stairs which also serves pastries and cakes, but no option of a baguette or sandwich etc. The rooms are spacious although a little dated, a good selection of toiletries. The entertainment I can’t comment on as did not attend. The pool is definitely on the “fresh” side The ambiance is very pleasant with a peaceful and tranquil vibe. The staff are to be commended for their work ethic and friendliness they are under a lot of pressure this hotel is definitely understaffed and that needs to be addressed. All that said we had a pleasant time but unsure if we would return

Very special place
A wonderful hotel. If you want to completely relax, where nothing is too much trouble, this is the place for you. We stayed as a preferred club member, all inclusive which made the holiday extra special. Highly recommended.
Another lovely holiday at Secrets
This was our fourth visit to Secrets, we had a lovely, relaxing break. When we were here in May the pool bar was under refurbishment, this now looks a very smart restaurant/bar area. Staff again are a huge part of this well-run hotel…. We always mention Guber in the World Café who is very attentive with our lunch time drinks and Roberto, Arturo and Christina in the main bar always made us feel very welcome when sitting at the bar for our pre-meal drinks. We did have one issue whilst we were there which was dealt with straight away and even the Manager from the Guest Experience Team rang me whilst we were at the airport returning home to apologise which was very thoughtful and a kind gesture. We have already booked for Christmas at Secrets, and this is our first time away at Christmas for 19 years, so we are looking forward to a different sort of Christmas in the sun…. thank you again Secrets…. See you in 2 months x

Customer care is not just about champagne on arrival.
Almost the perfect holiday spoiled by the reluctance of the management to provide any kind of sun protection at the padel and tennis courts. A simple request made three days running for a temporary sun umbrella next to the padel court was ignored. Annoyingly they had several 'movable' umbrellas in the area where they conducted the yoga - so they were available. At padel there was no shade whatsoever and with a group of us playing early morning and late afternoon sitting 'out' was extremely uncomfortable. A simple request that could easily have been managed was ignored.
Great hotel to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary
I couldn't fault the hotel, which was just beautiful and the staff could not have been nicer. We were on the preferred club, so got to avail of all of the A La Carte restaurants and got round all of them to try each menu at no extra cost, and the food was lovely. We also tried the normal buffet and it was better than any we had ever been to also. The hotel is very clean and I would definitely recommend
