This is not a 5 star hotel! Lack of facilities and poor service
Highly recommend looking for an ALTERNATIVE hotel! Not 5 Stars!
Spent a week here at the beginning of July, let’s start by saying there is no where to properly sunbathe, a restricted 12 subbeds for the whole hotel which have towels marking them from 8am onwards and not regulated by staff, not one of the days were we able to use this facility.
The dinner facilities are also unreasonably priced. We decided when we arrived at the hotel to use their dinning services for the evenings, there is suppose to be a deal which allows you to save money when using it across serval days. Starting at €35 an head (which is already overpriced for what you get) Not much variation in the food choices, the dinning staff would leave plates to pile up. On arrival we were given the wrong prices alongside no negotiation from the reception staff. Even though we had gone away to think about it without realising we had been adding up a total of the wrong price, no negotiation or apology. It felt very unprofessional and with a lack of customer service.
The cleaning service of the rooms would be left more as a quick tidy, no attention to detail. Had the same towels for 6 nights, we had dirty marks left in our bath tub throughout the whole week, as well as dirty mugs left for a couple of days without being replaced. Not to mention one evening we returned to the room with our door left open !!
This was not at all a service or facility you would expect from a 5 star hotel, I think this rating needs to be reviewed and training for the staff to be tightened. The location can’t be the whole thing to justify the price or condition of this hotel.
There is so much potential with the space of this hotel however so much of it was left vacant with no communal area to enjoy a drink and relax in the evening. Very hostile environment.
We will not be returning.
Great location, price and good views.
The views from Blue17 on the 17th floor are fantastic, and the restaurant on the first floor where breakfast and buffet are served daily also well worth a visit. The hotel is very clean, well maintained, and in a great location for both walking and accessing public transport. The only minor downside is the underground parking, which is available at €10 per night. The staff are hardworking, friendly, and consistently provide excellent service. A special mention to Patricia, who was always wore a welcome smile and was helpful during our stay. We also really appreciated being able to use the pool and showers while waiting for our transfer and flight. It’s a small touch, but it made our experience even better.

very disappointed
first the positive, The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location and views were good but the rest was poor. Beds were very uncomfortable , my wife got up in the night and slept on the settee as bed was to hard and the breakfast was awful ( I had seen a review beforehand stating this but thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt) as its supposed to be a 5* hotel and you would expect certain levels to meet with this rating rooms were cheap looking a dull. I would never return to this hotel unless there were major changes made and felt it was a waste of money sorry for bad review but you cannot rest on past reputation you need to keep moving onwards .

Absolutely beautiful hotel

A Grand stay in the Gran
Spent a lovely week here in May. The hotel was excellent, our room was very clean and well appointed. It is a few feet away from a spotless public beach and within easy walking distance of the Marina and the Open Mall. The employees really make the place what it is, they are friendly, genuine and very professional. We had half board and the food was very good, plenty of variety and well presented. Of all the staff Michael Parra deserves a special mention, a first class employee. We had a dinner in the hotel's Alarz restaurant which we thought was excellent, again the service was professional and personable. It was my wife's birthday during our stay and Sophie on reception noticed this when we checked in... we were very pleasantly surprised that the hotel made it very special for her with a cake and some fizz! Special thanks also to Mafer (especially for her recommendations about visiting her home country ), Estefania and Anabelle. Highly recommended.
