TripAdvisor Review
We loved absolutely everything about this holiday

My wife and I spent 2 weeks here and we absolutely loved everything about it. Our room on the 9th floor was spotlessly clean and kept that way by housekeeping throughout our stay. The shower was fantastic. The view from the balcony is absolutely gorgeous. We found the staff to be very friendly and fun. A shout out to Roman on the bar - what a diamond geezer! :-) The entertainment team were just amazing. They were very friendly and helpful. Nela & Sophie did the Aquagym and it was designed very well to gently warm you up, then do a decent workout and then have a nice cool down. They were also very funny during the Aquagym. A very special call-out has to be made to Simon on the entertainment team. He was very welcoming, friendly and funny. It was a delight to spend time with him. And his alter ego Simona who hosted the quizzes, was a sparkly diamond, entertaining us and really getting everyone in the crowd involved. We had such an amazing time, one of my all time favourite holidays ever.

Some good bits but too many add ons…

Overall we had a great stay and really enjoyed our holiday.

We got taxis to Puerto Mogán and Mogán Mall instead of using the hotel bus, just so we weren’t tied to a timetable. They were only around €15 each way and both places are definitely worth a visit.

The biggest downside for me was how many extras there are once you’ve already paid a lot to stay at the hotel. The Premium All Inclusive upgrade is around €150 for better drinks and a few small extras, but I honestly think those should just be included as standard. When you’ve already spent a lot of money on an all-inclusive holiday, you shouldn’t feel like you’re constantly being encouraged to pay more to get a better experience. It just makes the standard package feel like the budget option rather than a proper all-inclusive.

The standard all-inclusive drinks weren’t great. Most of the cocktails come from pre-mixed containers and weren’t very nice. The only cocktail I really enjoyed was the Aperol Spritz, which was on tap. I’d recommend sticking to the branded spirits like Smirnoff instead. We even paid an extra €7 each for two premium cocktails to see if they were any better, but they were still watered down and tasteless, so definitely not worth the extra money.

One thing I didn’t realise before booking was that the hotel sells day passes, meaning members of the public can come in and use the facilities. My partner and I got up early to get sunbeds in a nice spot, only for a member of staff to bring a group of six day guests right in front of us. It made the area feel cramped and noisy, and it honestly felt like they were getting better treatment than guests who had paid to stay at the hotel for a full week. Again, when you’re spending a lot on your holiday, you’d expect the people actually staying there to be the priority.

The room was lovely—modern, very clean, and the balcony was great with its own sunbeds and table. The only thing that felt a bit strange was that everything seemed to shut down at 11pm. The entertainment finished, the lights were switched off, and it almost felt like being told it was bedtime. It seemed odd for an adults-only hotel, especially when the family hotel opposite still had entertainment and a nice atmosphere later into the evening.

Overall, we genuinely enjoyed our stay and had a great holiday, but there were just too many opportunities to spend more money after we’d already paid a premium to stay there. Making the standard all-inclusive feel more inclusive and putting hotel guests ahead of day visitors would make a big difference.

Not Tui Blu Standard

We stayed at the hotel from the 6th July to the 13th July, and after asking for a higher floor on the booking, we were allocated a low-level room just above the pool and bars. Due to this, we upgraded to the premium plan, which cost an extra 700 euros for two rooms.

Having stayed at many good 4 & 5-star hotels over the years, I would not recommend this hotel if your expectations are decent service, food & quality.

We found the majority of the staff in the main restaurant to be either rude, slamming glasses or giving unhelpful looks, except for one very nice blonde lady who actually made the effort to speak and be helpful with the wine selection.

However, in general, you are treated like cattle and herded into the nearest cramped table, with no wine list despite paying for the premium option.

The food is at best average, and the buffet style is a bun fight to make your selection and get back to your table safely. With it being an adults-only hotel, I did expect the dessert station to be a lot cleaner, but it was a biohazard with the mess, and it never improved during our stay, as it was never cleaned during food service.

Regarding the drinks, we found the cocktails very watered down, and to improve the profit margin, each cocktail during the day has a massive amount of ice in the glass.

We also found all the bars to be short-staffed and with long queues to get drinks, which must be the reason the staff are unhelpful and rude on a daily basis.

The Sunset Bar is ironically named, as it shuts at 6pm, and the Sports Bar has no bar, and you have to go to the other bars to collect your drinks.

The lift waits are very long and small and don’t feel overly safe as they jolt and scrape.

The pools are good and at a nice temperature, but the pool toilets are not good, with only 1x toilet for the gents, so wear pool shoes as these are not very clean.

The sun-beds feel grumbly and are very near to each other. On the first day, we had to have one next to the waste bins and the foot shower, where there would be a little stream running under your bed. Because of this, we decided to pay the 25 Euro per bed per day for the rest of the holiday, as we could not cope with the sunbed rush and people camping out from 8am to get their favourite spot.

The day beds were much better, but they also felt unclean. The waiter drink service that was supposed to be provided never turned up despite ordering 3x times on the TUI Blu app.

The good points after upgrading to premium for 350 Euros per room. The room is spacious and has a great view from the 9th floor. The cleaning team were excellent and came twice daily to change the towels and to update the room with the evening turn-down service.

The mini bar replenishment was poor, and your fridge has a maximum of 2x small beers, 2x Pepsi & 2x Seven Up & 2x cartons of juice; any of these are to be topped up if any are missing. But paying for a premium upgrade, I did expect a better selection of wines, water, or spirits, but this was not provided. The Nespresso machine advertised was not, and the pods were the generic supermarket type.

The à la carte restaurant was very good and a welcome escape from the canteen feel of the main restaurant. Despite one of the staff being rude and lacking people skills, it was good food.

The evening entertainment was not great and we didn't hang around to watch.

In summary if you have expectations of a good Hotel, Food and Service avoid this one and pay the extra when booking.

Week away

Enjoyed our stay, only downside were the room was abit tired (needed a new shower head and leaked from the wall). Hotel and room was very well cleaned and members of staff all polite although very busy at dinner and sometimes a wait on drinks. Food was very much the same thing most days and being Coeliac there wasn't much choice. Pool was spacious although abjt warm for my wife. Plenty of loungers for everyone. Hotel transfers was very good and free coach to De Mogan was an added bonus. All inclusive drinks were very good quality. Would go again but only if a special offer was on or a short stay.
