⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Fantastic Family Holiday – Great Value and Even Better Memories!

⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Fantastic Family Holiday – Great Value and Even Better Memories!

We stayed at Gloria Palace San Agustín Thalasso & Hotel, this August into a September and the best way to sum up our experience is simple: the positives far outweighed the negatives.

For a four-star hotel, we felt it offered excellent value for money in every sense.

Our room was cleaned almost every day, and fresh towels were provided regularly. We stayed in the family annexe, which had a lovely sea view an added bonus that made our accommodation feel even more special.

One of the biggest highlights was the food. There was an impressive variety, with enough choice to keep meals interesting throughout our stay. For a family, that variety makes a real difference, as there was always something for everyone.

It would have been nice to have the opportunity to dine at the Gorbea restaurant, but it was separate from the inclusive package. Nevertheless, the food included in our stay was varied and enjoyable.

Another excellent benefit was the complimentary bus service to Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas. It made exploring the area easy and convenient, without the need to arrange taxis or worry about transport.

And if you take the bus into town, make sure you visit Fund Grube. The items there are genuine bargains, and the prices make it well worth the trip. Honestly, it’s a deal you should take advantage of—you may find yourself returning with more than you planned to buy!

The standout memory was definitely the evening entertainment.

The Michael Jackson show was absolutely brilliant! It wasn’t just something to sit and watch the atmosphere quickly became infectious. Before long, people were out of their seats, dancing and enjoying themselves. It was one of those holiday evenings that becomes a lasting family memory.

Another small touch that made a surprisingly big difference was the table service for drinks during the evening entertainment. Instead of constantly leaving your seat and queuing at the bar, you could relax, enjoy the show and have your drinks brought to you. It made the evenings feel that little bit more special.

Were there negatives? Yes, as there are with most hotels. However, none were significant enough to overshadow the overall experience. The good things simply outweighed them.

Good food. Great entertainment. Regular room cleaning. Fresh towels. A sea view from the annexe. Complimentary transport to Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas. Bargains at Fund Grube. Thoughtful service. A family-friendly atmosphere. And, importantly, excellent value for money in every sense.

We arrived looking for a relaxing family break and left with some genuinely great memories.

If you’re staying here and the Michael Jackson show is on, don’t miss it. Get ready to dance! 🕺🏾🎶

And when the complimentary bus heads into town, take the trip, visit Fund Grube and enjoy the bargains—you won’t regret it.

Would we recommend Gloria Palace San Agustín? Absolutely.

Lovely hotel offering good value for money

Had a lovely week relaxing. Rooms spacious and clean, restaurant busy but was always well stocked and queues went down quickly. Staff very friendly and worked really hard especially in restaurant. Yes, the queuing for sunbeds before 8am was an experience to watch, especially when the pool area opened at 9.30am - grown men and women running and throwing towels down. There really was no need as the balcony area was more spacious and always had plenty of available beds. Hotel overall very good and would recommend.

Tip for hotel - barrier matting needed on the steps upto the balcony as very dangerous when wet. Saw a couple of people slip on them.

A truly amazing hotel

We came to Gloria Palace in Aug 2026 as a couple and it’s by far one of the best hotels I’ve ever been to. The location is excellent, with Playa de las Burras close by, and Playa del Ingles & Maspalomas a short taxi ride away. It’s a short, hilly walk to the shops nearby, but in all honesty, the hotel had everything we needed so we didn’t have to make the trip down to the shops once. The atmosphere is amazing - it’s an amazingly laid out hotel with a beautiful aesthetic. It’s beautiful, from the entryway to the pool areas and the marble flooring and the cleaning staff work so very hard to make sure it’s presentable every day, and it truly always is. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, with lots of little amenities such as little chocolate bars every day, coffee and tea refills and bottles of water. The safe was free to use as we were All Inclusive, which was great, and the beds were very comfortable. The balcony was spacious with a lovely view of the pool & the sea, and the smoking ban on balconies is a very welcome change. The bathroom was well stocked with a powerful hairdryer, soaps, fresh towels every day and it was a very roomy bathroom as well! A huge thank you to Enrique who cleaned our room impeccably every single day. The food was also delicious, plentiful and there was something for everyone at every time of the day, and it wasn’t repetitive either. Lots of classics, like burgers, fries, salad options & pizzas, but also different bits such as fajitas, sweet and sour chicken, and even paella! The staff in the restaurant worked so hard as well, and we were always topped up with drinks and our plates cleaned away quickly. All Inclusive was definitely worth it - drink options were plentiful, a few things were excluded, such as specialty cocktails, but things such as wines, draught beer, named spirits, most cocktails and branded soft drinks were included, so we were never left thirsty. The pool area is huge, with lots of sunbeds, but we spent a lot of time on the Chill Out Terrace, which was amazing. It’s paid access, but well worth it, it was so calming and the saltwater pool is beautiful and refreshing on a hot day. Massive thank you to Isabel who looked after us every day we were up there, she really is a star. The Gorbea restaurant is amazing as well, delicious food and huge portions. The entertainment was top notch every night - a special mention has to go to MJ by J, who was amazing! He gave it his all and performed a few times whilst we stayed, and he always put on a fab show that we could watch from the balcony. There was a mix of acrobatics, moulin rouge inspired performances and live music, it was great. The Thalasso is the true standout of this hotel though - it’s unbelievable! So calming, massive & a beautiful atmosphere. It’s also very reasonable to access, €17 for the pool circuit if you’re a hotel guest. I would bring goggles, as it is saltwater and can get into your eyes. Overall, Gloria Palace San Agustín is an incredible hotel, with a beautiful atmosphere, amazing staff, and an overall calming, relaxing vibe for a Canarian break. 5 stars from us.

Sunbed queues

We have returned this year and have noticed huge changes and not for the better. Pool not opening till 9.30 am and having to queue to be able to get a sunbed is a real negative change. Last year the pool was open from 8 am and could freely use it with no sunbed wars. Also people putting towels down and disappearing for hours leaving entire rows empty for hours. Last year this didn’t happen as staff removing towels. The staff this year are rushed off their feet and seem to be less of them. No music by the pool anymore and lack of games and entertainment around the pool compared to last year. Food in buffet completely different from last year with repeated items most days. Hotel and rooms super clean and facilities really good. Still had a great family holiday just slightly disappointed in the changes.
