It offers free parking on site. The Altamar has a restaurant and a snack bar, open from 08:00 until 00:00 daily. It also has a 24-hour reception, a supermarket and a self-service laundry. Just returned from a weeks holiday family of 9 .Lovely hotel balconies huge with table and chairs and 2 sun loungers . Spectacular sea views , rooms are spacious and air con and ceiling fans in living area and bedroom. Pool towels are provided which is great cleaners and staff all lovely . The young lifeguard at the pool where the children's pool was fantastic , entertainment staff great too . Breakfast plenty of choice for everyone ( we stayed b&b and they had HP brown sauce 👍👍) and the menu in the resteraunt was well priced and good portions. Easy access to the Europa center which is 10 mins walk loads of shops and places to eat . Puerto Rico 5 mins in taxi which pick you up outside of the hotel cost around 6 to 7 euros . Fab stay would highly recommend .
Just back from there. We was for 10 nights. Unfortunately I not recommend at all. No privacy at all, my terrace was connected with other rooms and everybody included other public have access. Pictures and videos make by hotel on advert are very well edited and directed but unfortunately they have not connection with reality at all. In other balcony's in hotel you are exposed like in the zoo lol. Balcony are dirty and covered with birds poo just like outside furniture covered with poo too. Per whole 10 nights terrace was cleaned only one but only with water from the hose witch make it only wet not clean. Also what is more important room was very dirty too. Cupboards tops, dishers and kitchen appliances dirty. Bathroom even not properly swept hair "all types" every where. Unfortunately towels not meet any standards. Beds and bedsheets included pillows are not better. Recommended heightened vigilance because you can find marks from all people "activities" including lipstick marks. Cleaning and maintenance of rooms is extremely poor. My neighbours even ask for change room. To make room clean and useful we must buy own cleaning stuff and clean by our self. Food is also not the best and I'm very surprised why some people are delighted because a lot of people was complaining too. Swimming pool is open from 10am until 7pm. and there's no chance to swim after supper. Local evening restaurants, or shops are located far from hotel and at all times you need taxi with is not the best option. What is also annoying is wristband ( must be on at all times when you are in hotel) just like in hospital. They are very easy to live a scratch on body because very badly designed and make from cheap hard plastic. What is more important for me is moment when you must check out from hotel. We had evening flight and our transfer was about 17.00 hrs but you must leave room at 12.00. Let's imagine situation when you are with small kids and you must wait at 35° with all your suitcases in hotel lobby 5 hours without air-conditioning. That's is the most ridiculous what I saw. I was in many hotels in Gran Canaria but this on is honestly the worst. Not recommend at all. In that price it's easy to find better standards, better hotels closer to town with more attractions. Again NOT RECOMMENDED!!
Ignore the bad reviews! We had the absolute best holiday, staff were lovely, food was amazing, air conditioning and ceiling fans for me were perfect, and I enjoyed the fact there was two pools as one was more kid oriented than the other which was perfect. Could always get a sunbed and place at the restaurant. Very clean in rooms and around the hotel as well. Receptionist on our first night (weds 8th of July) was super helpful, didn’t get her name but shoutout to her! It was located on a hill so you did have to get a taxi to the main hub of Puerto Rico and the beach, but honestly I didn’t find it a problem. The taxi rank was right outside and always taxis available, and it cost about €5-6. Very reasonable in my opinion. The only thing I would say is be aware the bar does cut you off at 11, and the drinks for all inclusive are smaller but you can just help yourself to more. The lift is quite funny as well felt like we were on a ride ahaha! Overall a 10/10 holiday, we can’t stop talking about our holiday. Would definitely come back❤️
⭐️ Avoid This Place: An Honest Review of Servatur Pros: Great view. Hardworking cleaning ladies. Adam (he was great). The pizza.
Cons: Literally everything else. Disrespectful Staff & The "Small Glass" Scam The staff here are incredibly rude. They treat All-Inclusive guests with utmost disrespect while treating paying, non-inclusive guests like royalty. On my first day of a 14-night stay, I asked why All-Inclusive guests are forced to drink out of tiny plastic cups while paying customers get proper, large glasses. They had no real answer. A staff member named Dominador just barked at me in a harsh tone: "NO. BIG GLASS, YOU PAY!" Excuse me? I already paid for my vacation. When I pushed for an explanation, they just shifted the blame, saying, "It’s not us, it’s the director." Well, screw the Servatur chain, screw the staff, and screw the director. I spent the remaining 13 days of my trip completely ignoring the staff. Mojito for kids non alchohol? Nope got to pay. Only with alc is inclusive. Ice cream for the kids? NOPE it costs euros, u get slush all day.
Absolutely NOT for Kids They actively try to avoid doing their jobs when it comes to children. They hide the kids' zone away. When they announce a children's activity over the speaker (like a collage workshop), the activity staff meet up at this hidden location, look around for two minutes, immediately lock the kids' room, and walk off. I literally watched one of the staff members in skinny jeans go grab himself a free slushie and eat food on the job instead of entertaining the kids. Demographics
Be prepared: the guest makeup is about 94% British, with the remaining 6% being a mix of Russian, Norwegian, Danish, and Dutch. If that’s your vibe, go ahead. For me? Never again at a Servatur hotel.
The "All-Inclusive" Food Nightmare They serve the exact same food every single day. It is Mediterranean food 6 days a week, and Tex-Mex on the 7th. All the meat is fried with zero spices, zero marinade, and absolutely no flavor. More often than not, it is dry and overcooked. The pizza is the only edible thing they serve.
Transportation There is no shuttle bus to the beach. You are forced to take a taxi, which costs €6.50 each way. You can walk:It takes about 15-20 minutes to get down to Amadores Beach, but due to its on a mountain, it takes 20–24 minutes to get back up.
The Pool & Bar Situation They have two pools: Pool A: Right next to the main (and only) bar. However, absolutely no floating devices or ball games are allowed here. Pool B: A long walk from the bar. Here, you can only use giant inflatables that the lifeguards personally approve—my own volleyball was banned.
They actually converted what used to be a convenient Tiki bar at Pool B into a overpriced nail salon (charging €23 to €65 per session). So, if you want a drink at Pool B, you have to walk 150 meters to Pool A. But beware: you cannot be wet, you must wear slippers, and you must cover your chest. We got yelled at by the staff on our very first day because of this ridiculous rule. What a great welcome.
Terrible Rooms & AC in the Bedroom For the kids: They get a tiny, rock-hard sofa bed that is only suitable for very small children.
For the adults: The pillows they provide are the smallest, flimsiest things you can imagine. Why? Just to save a few pennies? The AC: The air conditioning unit is only in the living room where the kids sleep. The bedrooms only have cheap ceiling fans that spin way too slowly to do anything about the high temperatures. If you decide to stay here, bring your own fan. Verdict: Believe me, this is not the hotel for you. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Have just come back from the hotel and really enjoyed it. The food was nice and plenty of choice. The meat/fish was always cooked well. Sometimes the food wasn’t overly hot but it was always cooked well.
There is only one bar and restaurant for the whole hotel. No snack bar, the main restaurant serve snacks most of the day. Never really much of a queue for the food or the bar.
Pool was really nice. The water was lovely and warm, and seemed to be clean too. Plenty of sunbeds and parasols. There are two pools but we only went in one of them.
Staff were efficient and friendly.
The room had air conditioning which was brilliant as the weather was really hot.
