Gold lovers
We stayed at Gold for 10 nights from 30th June / 9th July and our time in hotel was amazing from start to finish. I had booked the Junior suite as a special treat but we were upgraded to the master suite for the entire stay which was a lovely surprise. The room 318 really is a master suite, large double bed , huge walk in shower , double sinks , bath , kitchen and the amazing wrap around balcony that over looks the main swimming pool . We were completely blown away by scale of it all and we will be forever grateful for the amazing upgrade of our room . Thank you so much Gold !!! Every thing about this hotel is perfection. It’s spotlessly clean , the staff are very friendly, breakfast is delicious , the pool temperatures were just right for the heatwave, one pool was cooler while the main pool was like like a warm bath . Never a problem to get a subbed . Love the pink roof top sundeck . There is a large supermarket right next door and it’s only a 5 minute walk to the Yumbo and beach . We have stayed in Gold many times and we will definitely be returning soon .
Great Hotel & Experience!
Lovely, well-decorated hotel in an ideal location right by a supermarket and bars, and only a short walk from the main strip.
The complimentary Cava when checking in and at breakfast was a nice touch, as was the live music on the Monday evening, during which there was complimentary snacks and Cava, and the hotel manager politely took the time to speak to every guest in attendance!
The staff were all very friendly, and rooms were clean and spacious with good WiFi, great air-con, large shower, good TV with smart apps on, and a fully stocked kitchen area.
One disappointment for us was having 2 single beds, rather than a double, particularly as they were on wheels so sometimes drifted a bit across the floor.
Both pool areas were nice, with a variety of beds to lounge in, shower, bar and lifeguard who could exchange towels all besides them.
There was a great selection of cooked, continental, pastries, fruit and cereals at breakfast, which was available from 8 until 12 with a chef on hand each morning to take requests for additional items. Unfortunately anything fried by these chefs was not vege-friendly as it was all fried on the same hob with bacon. My partner also received undercooked poached eggs from 2 of these chefs on separate mornings.
Overall we had a lovely stay at Gold by Marina and would definitely return again!

Relaxed and friendly atmosphere
Really good hotel and would definitely consider staying here again if back in GC!
Pros:
- Amazing breakfast, especially with the show cooking, the chefs doing this were amazing and there was so much choice
- Location was perfect. Less than 10 mins one way to Yumbo, less than 10 mins the other way to beach front, and easy to get taxis if needed right outside
- Staff were all super friendly and couldn't do enough for you
- No sunbed wars! Could get a sunbed at any time of the day, never too far from the pool, and they were really comfy
Cons:
- As two women, storage was a major issue! Could definitely benefit from some wardrobes/cupboards
- It was really difficult to get shade with the parasols being in front and behind sunbeds. Even when you put them up, they only covered a really tiny part of your lounger
- No poolside food after 4 and no room service
- Walls were quite thin, could hear a lot on the rooms on either side and doors banging
- Couldn't get second shower head working though i'm sure if we'd asked reception they'd have fixed this
- Some days we were left a bottle of water, others we weren't
As you can see, none of the cons are actually THAT bad, and the pros did outweigh them for us.
There was also a really nice mix of people at the hotel, everyone seemed friendly and respectful, and it was a really chilled poolside environment with nice music, and sometimes a DJ or live singer. We also really appreciated being at a smaller hotel rather than the massive ones with hundreds and hundreds of people, and walking ten mins back to your room if you forgot something, so based on all of that, we would go back but sorting the storage issue out would make it a 5/5 for me!
Fantastic Hotel
My husband and I stayed here and it was fantastic! The staff were lovely, the whole place was clean, plenty of sun beds and the breakfast every morning was great. Would recommend if coming to Gran Canaria!
Everything just seems right
Good central location to shops & beach, area felt safe at night, everything in the hotel was lovely, room was lovely albeit it's nearing a time for refurbishment, breakfast & poolside areas never overcrowded, just relaxed & pleasant
