Disappointment, not 5 star hotel
We stayed 1 week, in a Junior Suite.
First of all, a lot of nice people working at Cristina. Location is also great.
Hotel Cristina claims to have 5 stars, and that is why we chose it. We are also aware that Spain may have another star-system than other countries. Anyhow we are used to 5 star hotels like Can Bordoy in Palma, and Fariones on Lanzarote.
Cristina by Tigotan is nothing like this.
The requirements for 5 star hotels, which Cristina does not have:
- Room with air conditioning and heating (This was shut down)
- In-room amenities like free Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi is very bad, we had to use regular cellular network to read the news
- Minibar in the room
For breakfast, is it good for the logistics for cleaning the tables to have a dishes station in the middle of the restaurant, but what a noise it makes when sorting all the plates and cutlery!! This should be in an enclosed room with walls, and not open as it is, in the middle of the restaurant.
At arrival, they offered "champagne" as a welcome drink. We replied that "Yes, a glas of Cava would be great", where again the staff replied with champagne. I doubt it very much that this was champagne, quite sure it was Cava, please correct me if I am wrong. And Cava would be nice, but don`t present it as champagne. I would expect from a "5 star" hotel to know the difference.
Shower amenities: Why locate the soap 165 cm above the floor? This is at eye height for most people, not hand height. Very un-ergonomic location.
Door to the fridge in the locker in the room: The fridge was empty, and therefore no minibar in the room. Fridge door opened wrong way, so almost impossible to get in there. Why not turn around the hinge of the fridge-door? It takes 4 minutes with a screwdriver, and would make it so much better.
Also note that the bed in Junior Suite is Twin Bed, and no King size- therefore very little Romantic room. And that there are many years since last refurbishment of the Junior Suites.
Therefore, from the 5 stars I deduct one star for each of the missing requirements, plus one more for not being honest regarding these missing requirements.
Cosy stay in Las Palmas
We had such a cosy and chill stay at Cristina by Tigotan. The location is perfect near the beach, close to the loveliest sea wall I have seen. We had breakfast and dinner included, food amazing and stuff so kind. The only thing I would change would be the pillows, everything else perfect. A lovely refreshing holiday.

Location and hotel very good!!
Second visit and i think its as good as last june ,upgraded on arrival again to a beach view room with a balcony for a reasonable price which made it another memorable holiday, breakfast again was excellent with a massive choice, heated pool is a real bonus and the location is excellent ,couple of niggles again this year as i said last year some bar staff didnt pass any exams at the charm school especially when they were told to smile, also one afternoon at the pool after a day at the beach 2 drunk girls blasting their music which everybody looked fed up with and staff doing nothing which is what you would expect in magaluf not a 5 star adults hotel, these are just a couple of minor irratations and i am sure we will be back again for our third visit

Absolutely not a 5 star hotel!!!
Absolutely not a 5 star hotel. Terrible value for money. Good location on the beach but that’s about it.

Week in march
Stayed for a week in March. Check in, quick and easy, very helpful, polite staff. Room on the 9th floor with a view of the harbour, lovely view of cruise ships coming in and out. Lovely clean hotel, lovely views of the beach front from the reception and restaurant. Breakfast was good, plenty of choices, buffet breakfast.
Room was cleaned daily, fresh towels every day.
Lovely pool area and bar, towels provided.
Good location, easy access to bus stop.
Definitely recommend.
