The new SBH Maxorata Resort 4 **** in Jandía opened its doors after a complete renovation and modernization in 2018.
Its spacious and modern facilities are designed to make your holiday an unforgettable experience. The children will enjoy the entertainment programs and the adults will be able to relax in the Wellness area of the hotel.
The SBH Maxorata Resort Hotel has 601 modern rooms, offering all kinds of amenities to make your stay unforgettable. It has Double Standard, Double Sea View and Family Rooms with or without sea view that have separate bedroom and living room with sofa bed. All rooms of Air Conditioning, telephone with outside line, small fridge, SAT plasma TV, safe (with cost), WIFI (with cost) complete bathroom with hair dryer and bathroom articles. Free cot on request.
Our gastronomic offer includes an excellent variety of food and beverages and an ample service of Bars and Restaurants. You can enjoy the Buffet Restaurant, with a large buffet of hot and cold dishes. This restaurant serves Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with the best dishes of international cuisine with varied thematic corners, and all cooked with premium quality products and live cuisine.
It has two themed restaurants (by reservation) and a Pool Bar where you can drink or have a snack during the day, with a large terrace with magnificent views of the sea and swimming pool, with hot snacks and all accompanied by a wide variety of drinks. Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. George on reception was so helpful Izzy part of animation team was great getting us all involved in activities Bar staff amazing both day & night Main restaurant tables were cleaned & tidied with speed no waiting. Food & drinks were great Pools were amazing, lots of sunbeds, outside space cleaned daily Stunning views
Hotel clean and room was clean too If staying in standard room no kettle facilities however you can hirer a coffee machine Safe you have to pay 4.50 euros per day this is not a deposit Would I return, yes I would Thanks for a great stay
Would not recommend!
Where do I even start? An absolute mess for the money spent.
- The resort is in shambles. Saying that it needs refurbishing is an understatement, it looks like it could shut down any day now. Ceilings are peeling off, so are walls, tiles in the pools are missing, hygiene is nowhere near 4 stars. Most of the chairs outside are broken and so are the umbrellas. Cracks in the walls, the “VIP area” which comprises of one small jacuzzi and 5 or so beds is a joke, the beds are filthy, and I could go on.
- Big cockroaches in and around the resort. Granted, these cockroaches are everywhere on the island, but I didn’t expect to find them INSIDE the hotel.
- Towels: you have to leave a 10€ deposit for each pool towel you take (this will be returned at the end of your stay), however if you want to swap said towels for clean ones, you have to pay 1€ for each towel (not returnable).
- The mini fridge in the room: not stocked at all and barely working, not even. If you want to have water in your room, you need to buy it from the store, unless you want to carry a few glasses of water to your room. You’re also not allowed to bring drinks from outside the resort.
- There’s a safe in the room, but guess what, you have to pay 4€ per day to use it.
- AC in our room wasn’t working, but in our friends’ room it was so it depends on how lucky you get.
- On the booking site it states that the bar for all inclusive guests is open until 00:00, they close it at 11PM (for all inclusive guests). The bar actually stays open until 1AM, however you have to pay for the drinks and none of the drinks come with straws.
- While on this topic, on the paper they give you with the eating times it states that the late breakfast is served from 10:30 to 11:30. On the booking site it states that it lasts until 1PM. We get there to find out they don’t even do late breakfast.
- There’s only one pool bar out of 4 pools, that’s located at the infinity pool, so is the animation team.
- The animation team in my opinion is heavily focused on the kids, not much for the adults in there.
- The “toiletries” are as follows: one handsoap and one body and hair shampoo? Shower gel? I don’t even know.
- The coffee machines in the restaurant are closed after breakfast, however you can have coffee near the pool bar.
- Overall the food was tasty, however there is not much to choose from and many times we’ve seen food be reused (they had rice with chicken on a day and the next day they had rice with seafood, or so the label said, because the rice had chicken in it too, not just seafood) and this is just one instance, I could go on.
The island in itself was beautiful and the resort wasn’t busy (but I can see now why). I wouldn’t recommend this resort, I’m not sure why they have 4 stars.
A quality value for money happy feel hotel
A weeks stay review from a mum and her adult 25 years old son. A super value for money hotel , exceptional friendly house keeping , you get clean towels every day beds re made , polished windows , and very clean comfy beds , basic , no coffee or tea makers a nice clean large hotel , The food was plentiful , great quality and very well presented. The dining staff where hard working and friendly , For myself and son we wanted a quiet peaceful holiday but The pools for us where just too noisy with lots of children and activities going on so we tried all 3 pools thinking there might be an adult only but there was not so we went to the beach every day , £18 euros for 2 beds , the beach is 10 mins an easy walk , via a gate road and a safe board walk it was of white clean sand and as good as any tropical beaches , the the sea was turquoise color and clean , with huge rolling waves at some points , there is also a beach bar but food is expensive . The entertainment is plentiful for children and families , The drinks where only given out in very small glasses , and we did have to Que at times all inclusive finishes at 12 pm bottled water is not included so you have to buy it , The only negative - point I would say is that the reception staff are very rude , especially the woman with black rimmed glasses , Over all a very nice hotel , we had a lovely time , pity about reception i would have given it a 5*
Don’t bother
Soo disappointed, we are here now and this was not our first choice of hotel, but were assured by Jet 2 it was fab as our first choice , that we had been to before , did not have a swim up room available , which was a must for us. Staff are unfriendly, unprofessional , and Omg are doing you a favour by serving you! Do not work in the hospitality industry , unless you like people , only saying .. Food… as a caterer at home I have to say this is the worst food I have ever encountered in a hotel . Limited choices , and I am not fussy at all , pork as the cheapest option is on constantly, salads are awful , nothing is hot , awful , awful.God help you if you have any food intolerances/allergies , there is absolutely no consideration for these ... Dinner at night is like sitting in a cafeteria . The bars , forget that , wine is poured from a Jug , gave that a miss and the smallest cheapest measures of spirits ever … we are all inclusive btw. The two restaurants that you are permitted to visit once as part of your deal are only open once a week ! Wth . That said if you venture out down to the main strip around a fifteen minute walk there are , lovely bars and shops to browse . So can’t wait to go home ,and we have another week the sun is shining though , that’s a plus. You need to up your game guys , we certainly will not recommend nor be back here
Decent trip. Bad receptionist
It’s not a 4star. I’d say it’s a 3.5star. The food was decent. The double room with partial view was nice. The main reason I am here making a review is to make a complain about the woman at the reception woman Natalia Natalie. I found that she made it seem like a bother whenever i needed assistance (and that wasnt much). I feel she lacks customer service skills and that she needs re training because she’s really giving customer a bad experience and definetly making the experience less enjoyable.
