Hesperia Bristol Playa

I recently stayed in one of the sea-facing apartments and unfortunately found the accommodation very disappointing.

The apartment was very out dated and in need of refurbishment. There were several maintenance issues, including peeling and missing paint on the doors and walls, curtains need a good clean, rusting pipes in the bathroom, and a general feeling that the property needed refreshing. The fridge was not clean on arrival, and although the reception staff and Jet2 representatives were helpful and arranged for it to be cleaned, this did not change the overall condition of the apartment.

There were also ants in both the kitchen and bedroom, which was frustrating during the stay. The bedding was not changed during our visit, and the lack of air conditioning made the apartment uncomfortable at times.

On a positive note, the location is excellent, particularly for access to the beach/harbour being an 20 minute walk and local amenities close by. The pool area was also well maintained and enjoyable to use throughout the holiday. The staff were friendly and helpful when issues were raised.

Overall, while the location and pool area are definite strengths, the accommodation itself would benefit from significant updating, improved cleanliness standards, and better maintenance.

Read some of the reviews prior to going but mine and the wife's experience was excellent Apartment suited our needs staff all friendly Lovely on site supermarket Hotel staff bar staff and pool bar great. Singers good on a night and lovely quiet location but just ten to fifteen minutes walk to the harbour along the beech front Definitely recommend

This was our First time here, I read the reviews on here and I must say it’s better then you think, we where there for a week, arrived at 1pm but had to wait until 3pm for a room to be cleaned, the room was a pool view which I asked for and we got, nice room clean and everything you needed to hand, nice shower one of the best we've had, no air con or fans but fans can be rented I’ve been told but if your there in the height of the summer be aware, Never had the rooms cleaned we just asked via reception for clean towels sheets and loo roll which suited us, Pool area was good but not the green algae on the top edge going around the middle size pool never had this before but was getting jet washed off during the week, plenty of sunbeds around no rush to put your towels down but some did, Super market onsite which is a bonus and has all the stuff you need

Pool bar well after what I saw I’m glad I never ordered food there,

Twice I saw food being made on top of a dirty chest freezer used at the back as a work top and food being left out for a good 3-4 mins in the heat this needs to be looked out !!!

Overall it was a good nice relaxing holiday apart from the pool bar food
