This town was once a delightful fishing village which has now become a popular tourist hot spot due to diverse culture, sandy beaches and endless opportunities for activities such as kite surfing and water-sports.

Return visit after about 12 years
We stayed here when my girls were much younger. It has changed hands since but it is still a very nice hotel and we had a great time. Lots of positives about it, the food was consistently great and varied enough over the week. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there, weather was great, lots of entertainment throughout the day and an enthusiastic animation team keeping everyone entertained. The rooms were spacious and comfortable.
I only had two negatives to give over the week, 1) too much sun bed reserving going on. People bagging the best ones very early with a towel and then hardly being seen at them.
2) the main one for me was that our room was right next to the main restaurant open area, which doubles as the entertainment area in the evening. If you are like me and sometimes like an early night when tired, then forget it if your room is here. Its very noisy in the evening, right up to around 11pm, sometimes a bit beyond for the music, and it can get very loud, especially when karaoke evening is on, I had to suffer two of those in the week. I think being housed there with young children would be a nightmare. If I was to return to this hotel I would have to insist on not having a room near to the entertainment area, as for me, that would be a no go.

Wonderful Hotel
Firstly the hotel is beautiful, it needs some work in some area's as looking a little tired but they were doing maintenance to pools while we were there and without to much disruption, so excellent work. All the staff were fantastic, special shout outs to Adriana in the pool bar and Kasim one of the entertainment staff. Everywhere was exceptionally clean including the sun loungers, pool surrounds, rooms, bars and general area's so well done to all the cleaning and pool staff. The food was of a high quality and well cooked and lots of alternatives at Breakfast, lunch and Dinner. The drinks were fine a little limited on the cocktails on offer and you had to purchase more premium cocktails, but the wine and prosecco was very drinkable. There was numerous pools with plenty of sunbeds so no need to get up at the crack of dawn to put the towels out, still sunbeds available in the afternoon. Pool Towels are 20 euros cash deposit with that you get them changed once during your stay. If you want them changed more then its a euro a towel. The entertainment was exceptional they kept the games and activities going throughout the day from Aqua Aerobics to volleyball to French Bowls to the kids using the magic carpet (find that one out yourselves). The evening entertainment was mainly singers or small groups and they were all very good, some nights there was speciality acts on, and I think on a Sunday its Karaoke. All in all a wonderful holiday in a lovely hotel thank you very much.

Excellent Stay at Alua Suites – Exceeded Our Expectations!
We have just returned from a wonderful two-week stay at Alua Suites, and I can honestly say the hotel exceeded our expectations.
Our room was huge, with plenty of storage space and a free safe, which was a great bonus. The room was cleaned daily, and fresh towels and bedding were provided whenever we requested them. Everything was kept spotless throughout our stay.
The food was lovely. As with most all-inclusive hotels, there was a good variety on offer, but what impressed us most was that there was always something delicious to eat at every meal. We never struggled to find something we enjoyed.
The staff were friendly and hardworking, and the hotel had a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The facilities were well maintained, and overall the hotel offered excellent value for money.
We had a fantastic holiday and would not hesitate to return to Alua Suites in the future. Highly recommended!

Welcoming and enjoyable stay
I found the check in on the evening we arrived very welcoming. It was a clean hotel with an excellent selection of foods for all tastes. There was never a scramble for a sun lounger and we found all the hotel staff very friendly. The location, for us, was far enough away from the town centre for a nice evening stroll. Our room was tended to daily by hotel staff. Only thing I would change with the room is the open second bedroom, I'd probably put a door on it but other than that we found our stay welcoming and enjoyable.
Nice but could have been better
Just returned from a week at this hotel. It's 40 minutes from the airport. Sadly i think there are more negatives than positives. The location is great, right near popcorn beach and a 20 minute walk to the town/bars/restaurants with beach bars in route. It's also a walk away from the water park and we walked to the grande playa which was a gorgeous beach. The hotel had a really chilled feeling. We had a 2 bedroom apartment, the beds were so comfortable and we were really happy with our room. Our friends had a 1 bed and complained of how bad the shabby decorating was, like they couldn't be bothered to finish it properly with knats splatted all over the walls. There was also blood on the sheets that got changed once they spoke to reception. Not up to standard. We found the staff (with a couple of exceptions) to be moody. The activity team were lovely though. The main pool , you can only get drinks in the lunch restaurant which means covering up or you can walk to another pool to the tropic bar to get a drink. Not enough bars here. Drinks weren't great, the coke and lemonade were mainly flat. The main beer is San Miguel so we all stuck with that. If you wanted an Aperol Spritz you had to pay. No bottled water, just water stations. We could always get sun beds, towels are €20 each deposit My son liked the volley ball/ basket ball area. The hotel grounds are nice and kept well. The food was your typical spanish hotel buffet. I'm vegetarian and struggled so lived in pizza and chips most of the holiday. There are a couple of veggie options but not things i liked. We all felt the food was ok, had a canteen feel. Definitely had better. There is 1 al a carte which we all liked and made a nice change. You have to book that on the morning of the day you want to go. The evening entertainment had some great singers but we felt the evening area wasn't big enough. All in all it's put us off doing all inclusive anymore. This area you'd be better off staying self catering and going out as it's so close to the town. We preferred going out of the hotel and spent more money out than we normally would at an all inclusive so that says a lot.
