Elba Carlota Beach

Arrived 3 Oct for 7 nights for my birthday (stayed 3 occasions previously) Lovely check in fast and efficient. We arrived early and could not get room until 3pm so went round pool. Collected key from reception at 3 after being told our room had now been cleaned and was ready for us.

Our room 4th floor overlooking pool and bar. Nice on the outset. Unpacked the cases which took 15 mins tops and sat down My feet were absolutely black with dirt off the floor. This room had not been cleaned/mopped Dust was everywhere in the room on the lamps the dust on the floor behind the door was shocking. I rang reception who said they would send someone up straight away. An hour went by nothing. Husband went down as we also had no towels to get showered. They said someone would come straight up. Another 45 mins went by and my husband was just going to reception when he saw the maid. (She was going past not coming to our room) he asked her for towels . She went into another room. Husband went n got the brush out of her cart and brushed the whole room out. Then went to get her mop n bucket. Had to do the floor himself. Not 4 star quality u expect.

Went to reception n told them the cleanliness had definitely slipped and not what we had experienced previous times. The young man just shrugged . I said I would never stay here again. There was no oh no I’m sorry I’ll get the manager for you. Terrible customer service.

Restaurant when entering there was no hand gel, I asked the maitre d who said the toilets are over there you can wash your hands there, absolutely shocking it’s a buffet . Everyone’s mitts in the food and no hand cleaner. This has always been provided before and should be enforced. Food was not the best. The Mexican and fish nights were nice but everything else was just … cheap 2 star food

Bar was terrible. 25 people queuing for drinks . Bar staff serve those who sit at the bar whilst people wait and wait and wait. Not enough bar staff on. Those that did work were brilliant. Thank you.

The cleanliness in the bar. Terrible Tables with dust in covering drink spills or glass marks snd the light on the wall just shocking. It’s not Halloween just yet. I did mention this to the glass cleaner man but he just looked and smiled.

Pools brilliant but need a few tiles and new sun loungers as they are the really old style and dirty.

The cats were just cute.

The hotel is now mainly for the French,

I was left a bottle of fizz n a card for my birthday which was a nice touch but gave it back as it was our last night and had an early flight x

We had a fabulous week being together for my birthday and a holiday is what you make it, but to be honest. we will never return to this hotel,

Very disappointed

Amazing family holiday

We arrived last week at the Elba Carlota (family of 4 with teenagers) with Jet2 holidays and it was an amazing holiday from start to finish! It was our first time with Jet2 and they were all very helpful.

We were a little worried about all the negative comments before we left but we were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived, the staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Our room was nice, we had a side sea view facing the left side of the hotel (rooms 310 & 311) and it had all the amenities a room could ask for, with fridge and coffee/tea making facilities that were replenished every day. The maid service was great, new towels on request and beds made every day. The room was clean, a little dated but we were only sleeping there, first holiday we actually slept all night without waking up, beds and pillows were so comfy.

The pools were really nice, a cold pool and heated one along with a relaxing jacuzzi. The entertainment team had activities every day from aqua gym, inflatables to wine tasting. We didn’t get involved as kids were older and we enjoyed relaxing by the pool every day! Enough sun beds to go round, my husband was up early anyway so put towels down for us every morning but there were always sun beds left for all even after 10am.

Food was great, not sure why people were saying negative things, my teenages are fussy eaters and they found something every night to eat. They loved the pasta with different sauces, churros and pancakes for breakfast! Every night there was a different food theme. There were enough tables in the main restaurant for everyone and staff were very attentive. The pool bar had snacks every day from hamburgers, chips, sandwiches, sweet treats and fruit. We didn’t go to the Italian restaurant as there was more than enough variety in the main restaurant to choose from. Drinks were great, lots to choose from especially cocktails.

The beach was lovely and right outside the hotel, you can rent sunbeds on the beach, we didn’t rent them just went once a day and sat on the beach and had a dip in the sea.

The town was a pleasant 15 minute walk along the coastline with a path all the way to the harbour. The town has all the amenities - restaurants, bars, shops and next door to the hotel is a shopping centre with some shops and a big supermarket.

The hotel is near to the airport (10-15 minutes) and planes fly over the hotel but this didn’t affect us, and couldn’t hear any during the night.

The entertainment at the hotel was every evening with various singers and karaoke, the same as in most all inclusive hotels. The lobby bar was nice as you can sit outside in the evening and listen to the entertainment. There were some shows in the theatre but we didn’t attend those as went into town every evening.

We took a trip to the capital, Puerto del Rosario one evening but there was nothing there so came back to Calete de Fuste instead.

All in all it was a great holiday and would recommend to everyone. Don’t listen to the negative comments as we didn’t have anything bad to say about this hotel. We have been to many hotels all over Europe and this is definitely in our top 5.

I hope this review helps people visit this hotel as this was one of the best family holidays we have had and even the teenages weren’t bored. Sad to be going home!

I'm five days in to a 7 day holiday , i v never wrote a review but omg the hotel is perfection it's immaculate the entertainment for adults is amazin and watchin them with kids they are second to none. The food is amazing the lifts always wrk. The entertainment I actually look foward to each night the classes during the day are fun theres a gym and shopping centre directly outside hotel and mcdonalds and euros paid. The marina s a 10 minutes walk and outside the hotel is path straight onto the beach that has a bay. The staff go over and above the place is immaculate and everyone has a smile and a hello each day . The AI cocktails included slushie ones. The animation team are really attentive with the little ones. Check in was fast . Bar service fast and as I'm gluten free whenever I asked for help I found it with no problem.. breakfast time there is breads cakes n biscuits cereal etc for celiac. Welldone to the hotel manager they obviously treat there staff well as their positive attitude shines out of them. !
