Sandos Griego Hotel

Current staying at Sandos Griego and probably wouldn’t stay again, some issues with the hotel but unfortunately more issues with the guests which is why we wouldn’t return which isn’t entirely fair on the hotel

On check in everything was fine, room was only ready from 2:30PM but was allowed to use the all inclusive amenities in the meantime

Other reviews are correct, getting space round the pool is difficult unless you are there waiting at 9am when the sun loungers are opened

The lifts are slow and people use them to go up only one flight of stairs, and some guests push in front of you even when they can see you struggling with a push chair.

Took more than one attempt to get to the beach, not nearly enough busses running for the number of guests and after being turned away from the bus for being full we decided to go back to the hotel as the walk isn’t good with a toddler.

Food available at the beach bar was nice, however not allowed to take food out of the beach bar even though there were no tables to eat at so myself and toddler had to eat on the floor whilst people sat at the tables even though they had finished eating.

Sun loungers available at the beach for €8 each for the day which isn’t too bad but also can sit in front of the loungers for free.

Another complaint about the bus to beach is large parties holding “spaces” for others, we were pretty close to the front of the line when more of the same party came to join and it then meant that we couldn’t get on the bus despite arriving early for it - when we did eventually get to the beach this was a concern on the way back too. Clearly guests cannot be trusted to manage themselves correctly and so I think the hotel should allocate someone to manage this

Food is average, can always find something to eat but mealtimes in the main restaurant is ridiculous at busy periods, people pushing in front of you when you are waiting, refusing to let people past. I witnessed one man push another this morning at breakfast.

Snack bar is decent too food wise and is a lot calmer than the actual restaurant so we prefer to grab lunch in there earlier.

Yesterday an older woman slapped another guest round the face (this guest was holding her baby) because of a parasol - the police were called and the hotel appeared to do everything right however it shouldn’t have escalated in the first place, people leaving their things on sunbeds and parasols and then leaving them for hours (this woman had not been at her parasol for 3+ hours when she returned and started shouting about it being taken)

We are here with a toddler and the activities timetable says that there is a minidisco every evening - the first evening we went to where we presumed it would be and there was nothing, so our 2nd night I asked reception to check who confirmed it was round the pool area, and again, nothing happened- most hotels have a team getting kids up dancing and playing games but this is our 3rd night and we haven’t actually seen any of this, there is music playing but this doesn’t feel like a minidisco in the slightest so maybe this could be looked at by the hotel to be more of an organised event

Some of these issues could be resolved by the hotel taking more responsibility, however unfortunately for the hotel it really is the guests letting things down and we won’t be returning here.

We were here last September 2025 Decided to return this year 3 weeks ago for a week the most awful time sunbed situation is so bad the guy who was in charge of the beds was as rude as they come so letting certain guest to put chairs down and telling others they were aloud til 9.00am There was a big family there at the time and they were aloud smoke in the pool right were children were swimming and play loud music. No toys or balls aloud in pool for kids. No mini disco for first few days for the kids really let down this time round with experience only good thing is location of the hotel.

Our first experience to the reception was good, nice easy book in and nice staff. We then went to our room, it overlooked houses, which was nothing more than we expected, room was clean, cool and ideal to sleep in. However after our second night, no fault of the hotel we were woken by builders at 7am. We asked to change and they kindly obliged, at a point when they could. We were put into a refurbished room which was smaller but better. Getting the lift to and from the 6th,7th & 8th floor is not the best, particularly at breakfast times. It took me a week to get to know my bearings, as the hotel seems in three sections. We thought the food was very good and always a good choice. The canteen you eat in is always packed though. We did eat out once at a near by restaurant, and booked the al la carte in the hotel which is basically the same buffet but quieter and more peaceful. We didnt use the snack bar. Drinks were good, and we loved the coffee shop. Great coffees and nice drinks in a glass. The shuttle bus to the beach is a great asset, which runs every 40mins. You get dropped off at a allocation on the beach, which cost 16 euro for the beds and brolly. The beach bar is across the road in a secluded gateway(only open for Sandos) help yourself beer, wine, water and soft drinks and the bbq food is good and as much as you want. The entertainment outside at night is ok for something to watch, and there is Pepe's bar which opens later which has different things on(we did'nt use this as we were always to stuffed or too tired) We used the roof top bar(8th floor) most days(small help yourself bar) as we didn't like it around the packed pool. The pool is far too small for the hotel. I will say the roof top bar is ok but needs regular maintenance, seats are broken tables uncleaned, and sun cream all over the glass barrier from peoples body's. In general I have no problem with this hotel, we got what we paid for and nothing worried our expectations. Yes we have been to better hotels, but this was fine, staff were good, room is cleaned daily, food is good, they try to cater for everyone in such a small space.
